Why play Catapult Mage?

-Ethereal Arcanist snowball. Protected via Counterspell/spellbender

-Thaddius (Feugen/Stalagg). Possibility of duplicating them potentially giving multiple THADDIUS

-Deathwing/Ysera. 'nuff said

Catapulting Deathwing - Prepare for launch!

Definition: To load up on 3-5 secrets then play Deathwing.

How it works: The meta shifting away from BGH means over-reliance on spells to kill Deathwing. With the rise of Mad Scientist, you can protect him with one (or both) of Counterspell/Spellbender in addition to protecting yourself with Ice Block/Ice Barrier if he tries to ignore Deathwing.

Combos:

Turn 3: Kirin Tor/Secret -> Turn 4: Ethereal Arcanist.

Very hard to stop with CS/Spellbender.

Kill Feugen/Stalagg with Deathwing

You get an empty board with an 11/11, and a 12/12.

Duplicate Deathwing

Duplicate your Deathwing, play him again! Your opponent will love you

Card choices:

Deathlord: Anti-hunter/zoo card meta-card. They will often have trouble killing it, and will often only summon a 1/2 mana minion with it.

Loot hoarder: Card draw, little bit of early game. That said this card is on the fringe.

Ysera: Once we play Deathwing we enter top-deck mode. Which is why cards like Mana Wyrm/Undertaker are out. Ysera can single-handedly change a game if top-decked, or if you cant seem to draw Deathwing.
