Note: Hit legend playing mostly this deck from around rank 5 with 0 stars in 51 games
Built around the old face hunter shell, but removed a lot of the higher variance fragile minions for some more durable early game threats. The deck is a bit slower, but still has pretty good matchups against the popular decks seeing play.
Undertaker this card is extremely good. I've never had him be smaller than a 2/3 by turn 2, and he can scale very well into the mid-game. Dealing a bunch of damage and then trading up is just what you want to be doing.
Leper Gnome, isn't nearly as good, but is still solid on turn 1 and are needed to support the undertaker.
Webspinner Has good synergy with undertaker, isn't nearly as aggressive as a 1 drop, but also can draw cards off buzzard and can help fill the curve with whatever you get off him.
Haunted Creeper This was zombie chow until recently, but the lifegain on the zombie proved too bad, and so I wanted the best deathrattle that was cheap, and this is it probably.
Mad Scientist Triggers the undertaker, and is just a solid card. Lets you effectively run more copies of explosive trap and freezing trap. May want to run 1 copy of misdirection so that he always has a target.
Explosive Trap and Freezing Trap They have always been at least worth considering in hunter decks, and now with the mad scientist they gain a bit of value, which is just upside since they would be played in aggro hunter anyways.
Flare a metagame call, personally over 1/2 my games are against secret hunter decks, and occasionally a secret mage deck, and it is just the best card ever against those decks. I would add 1 haunted creeper and a dire wolf alpha if you don't play against secret decks.
All the other cards are fairly obvious for an aggro hunter deck, and can't ever be cut.
Current record: 38-13, started at rank 5
14-4 vs hunter, 4-1 vs priest, 6-2 vs zoo, 3-0 vs handlock, 4-1 vs miracle rogue, 1-4 vs warrior, 2-1 vs druid, 2-0 vs mage, 1-0 vs shaman, 1-0 vs paladin
32 games 21-11 (65% win rate) from rank 13 to 9.
Swapped
Tracking x2 for Loot Hoarder x2.
Freezing Trap x1 for Misdirection x1 (not sure about this yet, it sometimes does more harm than good!)
Fun deck. Will keep playing through the end of this season. Thanks!
Now I'm getting pummeled by Priests and Shamans at rank 9. Win rate down to 58%.
Implementing some changes
-1 Misdirection (always did more harm than good)
-1 Loot Hoarder (I think there's enough draw with Flare and Starving Buzzard)
+1 Timber Wolf (always in need of more attach when UTH comes out)
+1 Houndmaster
We'll see how it goes...
Amazing deck, so far has taken me from rank 15 to rank 5
Why no highmanes, they would synergise pretty well with undertaker, and are durable too
Its not that kind of deck, you beat up on the people playing highmane by killing them the turn they cast it.
I don't think you want that many traps. Traps are bad. You only play them because they have synergy with bow and mad scientist. So basically you just want enough to make sure scientist will always have a target. Also having a variety of traps makes the scientist worse because you don't really know what you are getting. At least with explosive and freezing you can work it down to at least a 50/50. If you are having problems with scientists running out of targets, I would cut a tracking before adding more traps. I certainly wouldn't cut flare or hunters mark. Flare is literally the best card in hearthstone right now, its just SO low cost to put 2 in your deck. I don't have a problem cutting the trackings for a loot hoarder and a wolf, but I would put the mark and flare back. Also, I personally think dire wolf is better than timber wolf in this deck because you can just go turn 1 undertaker leper gnome into turn 2 wolf. Its worse if you are comboing, but only slightly worse.
I am of the same opinion on the mad scientist.
As traps serve a purpose in so many regards, having one placed on top of me, without knowing which one it is, takes away their purpose.
Still, on the other hand there are free and mana could be spent elsewhere. Thus, I am a bit iffy about it merits vs demerits.
Maybe, I cut out the scientist and fill his place with....I have no idea :)
Well, everybody wins and wins with this deck. As always, I do not...can I have a stream on that deck?
Tracking is good, when u need to finish your opponent. Also I want timber wolfs in this deck.
But what are you looking for? Leroy and only leroy?
11 rank start
3-4 hunter
2-1 priest
1-1 paladin
4-0 warlock
5-1 druid
3-0 mage
0-1 rogue
1-0 shaman
0-1 warrior
= rank 7, 68% WinRate = success
against warrior not enough damage.
I am not sure the point of the trackings...
Everything is 1-2 drops so what would you be searching for?
I replace tracking for 2 Loot Hoarder
Only deck I've lost against so far is priest, I'm like 7-1
Huge fan of the deck, thanks a ton for the decklist. It takes a little time to get the hang of, but it's an excellent deck. Made legend for the first time ever with this deck! Thanks!
I don't really like tracking, anything to replace it? Or am i underestimating it?
Would anyone consider Timber Wolf x2 instead of trackingx2 for a good combo with Leeroy Jenkins + Unleash the Hounds?
The way I see it, tracking gets better when there is a greater difference in power level between your worst card and your best card. Obviously, in a deck with 30 leper gnomes, tracking is bad. This deck, however, has an EXTREMELY large gap between the best card in a situation and the worst card. When you need an unleash the hounds, you need it bad. When you need a kill command, you need it bad. Tracking can be a high reward card, but the risk of having it in your deck is basically 0. When your curve is this low, it isn't difficult to squeeze in a 1 mana spell. Sometimes in can suck to burn good cards, but the times when you tracking into the perfect card more than make up for it in my mind.
Just went 10-1 with this deck. Didn't even draw Undertaker in my starting hand for most of them. Rock solid!
Hi! Deck is amazing, just went on a streak from 11 to 5 without loosing once :D now hit a brick wall of warriors, cant seem to even touch em, any tips? =]
Control Warrior is considered a direct counter to Face Hunter and a counter to hunter in general. Especially with Death's Bite...
If you're hitting a Control Warrior heavy Meta you'll probably want to start running a counter to them until you get past 'em.
