Hello everyone! I have decided to make this deck and put it here, because back when I started playing Hearthstone, I have been struggleing against Deathrattle Paladin decks. I told myself that once I get all the cards needed to play a Rattledin, I would play the fuck out of it and beat everyone standing in my way. Unfortunately it was too late, because the Redemption got nerfed back then and meta changed to fast decks, so it was very hard to keep up with the Rattledin deck. But now with the new Naxxaramas cards, the only thing in my head when playing this game was to resurrect the deck i wasnt able to play anymore.
I hope you will like it and have fun with it!
Playstyle
Generally, you want to maintain as much board control without using the powerful Equality + Wild Pyromancer / Consecration / Avenging Wrath or Wild Pyromancer + Consecration combos.
Buff your Nerubian Egg. Buffed eggs can be nicely used to maintain control (I almost never hit face with them).
Think ahead to create nice multiplying combos using your Redemption with Baron Rivendare on your powerful Deathrattle cards (Cairne Bloodhoof, Sylvanas Windrunner, Sludge Belcher and even Nerubian Egg, Harvest Golem) I play also Loot Hoarder, because this deck lacks card draws and when you face a zoo deck, its almost impossible to get more than 1 card out of your Divine Favor. In addition, drawing 2 cards when your Baron Rivendare is out is pretty nice.
Always keep on mind, especially when you face a druid, that people play silences in this meta (at least i face a lot of them), so try to force your opponent to waste these on your buffed Nerubian Egg / Sludge Belcher cards. I`m sure that if you get used to this deck, you will find your own playstyle, on how to avoid getting your Baron Rivendare, Feugen, Stalagg and Tirion Fordring silenced. Sylvanas Windrunner can be used as a bait sometimes.
Mulligans
In general, try to mulligan for Undertaker, Nerubian Egg, Blessing of Might, Loot Hoarder and if you have the Coin you can experiment with a Harvest Golem or Sword of Justice (I would mulligan for these only in case your other cards are close to a perfect starting hand).
Against ZOO: I always try to find the Wild Pyromancer. I have had a 50/50 win rate againts zoo decks so far, if it goes worse, i guess i will add the Unstable Ghoul 2x instead of Wild Pyromancer and Haunted Creeper, but I am not sure yet.
Against Ramp Druid: As said above, try to play around his Keeper of the Grove cards. Always keep in mind his turn 8/9 Savage Roar + Force of Nature combo as it is 14 damage with no minion on his side of the table. I save one Sludge Belcher / the Defender of Argus, and play them only when necessary to avoid getting a full druid combo face hit.
Changes:
+ 1 Defender of Argus - 1 Truesilver Champion
+ 1 Blessing of Kings - 1 Truesilver Champion
I tried to play Feugen + Stalagg but didnt have much success with them so now i run Cairne + Sylvanas again.
I am not a Legend player and never I have reached the Legend rank. This is my first PvP deck, so i hope for constructive, not destructive critics and wish you lot of fun with this deck! (Also forgive me the mistakes, I`m not a native speaker).
Please don`t forget to upvote this deck if you liked it and leave your thoughts in the comments section!
I've been toying with a more secret oriented deck and to me, what shines are the redemptions coupled with Scarlet crusaders and argent commanders.
The fact that when they come back they come with the shield is amazing value, and pretty much the one health is fine, as both are low starting health anyways.
Also, redemption plus lepper gnome and loot hoarder, with undertaker in play is amazing
this deck is really fun and actually works. FYI add cairne bloodhoof and baron for epic wombo
I tried this deck last night, played ranked again after months of arena and Naxx. Climbed from Rank 20 straight to 8 with only 2 losses and tons of stomps. It clears Zoo decks really easily as you essentially have 3 total board clears (2x Consecration + Wild Pyro -> Combine with EQ and Thalnos) plus tons of taunts. I also tend to get really good starting hands. All you need is an Undertaker and a Weak DR drop. I managed to boost my Undertakers up to +3/3 or more countless times. The deck is working really well for me at the moment, hope it will still compete in higher ranks.
(I'm using the twins instead of Cairne/tirion)
hi there. i was wondering what i could replace cairne for? i got sylvanas just not cairne
Sorry, but this deck does not work. It's a nice idea but it has some flaws. It has a bunch of weak minions (spiders, eggs, recruits, argent protector, golems, Baron) and only 3 cards to buff them (2 x Blessing of Might, 1 X Sword of Justice). This isn't enough buffs and just results in a bunch of worthless minions on the board that can't kill anything.
It seems like you just don't get this deck then.
Horible deck, you literaly do nothing at all
I literally made an account to thank you for this awesome concept. I'm doing something similar with a Shaman, but it's nice to apply the same concept to a different class I don't usually play with.
The only minor changes I made (due to not having some of the cards):
No Tirion or Sylvanas, so I used the Feugen and Stalagg twins
Also, I used two Undertakers for early game, and almost everyone freaks out when they see it now
I have yet to lose with this deck after 10+ games
Can't speak for op, but I switched the argent protectors for undertakers and have been loving it.
I am missing one Equality and one Divine Favor, so that's where the Undertakers come in.
Card draw can be an issue but because of Deathrattles, I'm generally not hurting for creatures to play to establish board control.
Its a cool deck, but I haven't seen much luck with it. run out of cards too much and bad hands kill
Wow, this deck is fun! I already forced two rage quits by playing Baron Rivendare right before suciding Fugen/Stalagg, lol.
Hahaha double Thaddius ftw, made that happen a few times too :D
Okay, so at the moment I am on a winstreak with these changes:
- Loot hoarder + Bloodmage Thalnos, simply for the extra spelldamage.
- 2x Argent protector + 2 undertakers (Lovely 1-drop, except for when you're playing against priests, ze almighty smite will just kill it, same for rogue with backstab)
- Replaced Cairne and Sylvanas for Feugen and Stalagg, simply because I lack them :)
Going just fine!
Is this deck playable without Cairne and Sylvanas? I have the rest of the cards... It looks neat to me so I really wanna try it haha
I think you can replace them with Feugen and Stalagg =)
Ye I did, going to see how that works now hehe
Yeah, I would rather use Undertaker then Argent Protector.
Ya I would give it a go if I had Tirion.
This deck fails many times over.
