Hello Guys!

I just wanted to share my Camel Hunter list, that got me from rank 20 to 10 in the wild format.

This is actually a deck I initially built up just to play a bit with Desert Camel, one of my all-time favourite hunter card, but it ended up performing pretty nicely.

These are my stats playing this deck:

"Camello" is camel in spanish.

(NOTE: It's important to note that one of my losses against a tempo mage was not tracked by my decktracker because I made the mistake of quitting the game instead of conceding)

Now,  regarding my card selection:

  • Desert Camel: The core card of the deck. Playing it early may give you some huge board advantage pulling out your high-stated 1-drops, while having the chance of disrupting battlecries from Babbling Books, Swashburglars, Fire Fly, etc. Obviously, this may backfire if your opponent has a beefy 1-drop that you can't deal with.
  • Injured Kvaldir: The camel's best friend. Getting 2 2/4s on turn three is pretty good!
  • Raptor Hatchling: It serves as your early game. I prefer it over other one drops because is able to make your camel even better if it gets killed before you play the camel.
  • Crackling Razormaw: Just the best 2-drop hunter has right now.
  • Scavenging Hyena: The second best 2-drop hunter has, in my opinion. Very snowbally.
  • King's Elekk: I prefer this over Kindly Grandmother because priests can't cast Potion of Madness on them and the card draw is always nice (when it works).
  • Quick Shot: Since this deck is likely to run out of steam quickly, this is a nice addition offering you direct damage and occasional card draw.
  • Explosive Trap: Can help you against aggro and adds more damage to your opponent's face.
  • Animal Companion: I can't imagine a midrange hunter deck without this.
  • Kill Command: Skill Command.
  • Unleash the Hounds: Pretty good against token decks and has some synergy with the camel.
  • Houndmaster: Another staple in a midrange hunter deck
  • Ram Wrangler: Since Un'Goro has added many high-stated high-cost beast, you can get something big pretty often. Nothing beats a turn 5 Ultrasaur.
  • Tundra Rhino: Another staple. Insane if it's not answered.
  • Savannah Highmane: Another staple.
  • Call of the Wild: May be a good finisher if the game gets longer. Obviously better if you already have some board presence or just a Tundra Rhino alive.

Regarding the mullingan:

  • Going first: Always keep 1 Raptor Hatchling or 1 Injured Kvaldir, if you get only one of those. If you get both, you obviously keep just the hatchling. Keeping King's Elekk and Quick Shot is always good. If you get a 1-drop and a 2-drop, it's ok to keep Animal Companion or one Desert Camel. The dream hand would be Raptor Hatchling, any 2-cost minion and a Desert Camel.
  • Going Second: Keeping 2 or 3 2-drops it's not bad since you can coin one of them on turn 1 and follow it with another 2-drop. However, getting two camels can be insane, since you can play them on turn 2 and 3, getting some serious board presence and getting those 1-drops out of your deck. The dream this time would be: Turn 1 Raptor Hatchling, into Desert Camel in turn 2 and turn 3.

Obviously, you always mulligan away anything that costs 4+ (and the Injured Kvaldirs if you already have the Hatchling).

This is not a deck to take too seriously, there is always room for improvement with some of my questionable card additions. It's also important to note that the winstreak played a huge role taking this deck from rank 20 to 10, and I haven't faced any pirate warriors and token druids. You can easily win with this deck playing it like any midrange hunter deck, the camels are pretty good, but not crucial to win.

Hope you guys like it.
