Hi everybody, I'm Havefun, a french casual player playing since vanilla hearthsone.
At the beginning, I just wanted to farm my golden priest but things went a lot better than expected.
I played this deck from rank 16 to rank 4-legend (best rank so far)
This deck is based around board control. You play high-stated minion which are hard to remove and try to steamroll your opponent.
Generic mulligan : Northshire Cleric, twilight whelp, wyrmrest agent. With the coin, you keep blackwing technician and kabal talonpriest if you have a 1-drop in hand.
Match-ups :
I don't track my game (don't use a deck tracker either) so I'll try my best to explain how I see the different match-ups. I will make a difference between ladder climbing and high-legend because there is really a big difference in the way people play.
Pirate-warrior : 60%WR climbing, 30% in high-legend
Let's start with THE deck to beat. During my climb I thought I was doing pretty good against pirates. But I discovered that people in the top 100 know what they're doing and my winrate dropped dramaticaly. Against them, you want to kill their board as fast as you can (can be really hard if they steamroll you with an upgradded fiery waraxe) and hide being big/buffed taunt.
Tokken druid : 80-85% WR
This is a really good match-up, you can keep up with their early game most-of the time. The 3-attack on talonpriest and technician is doing wonder. Try to reduce the power of savage roar most of the time.
Aggro shaman : 80% WR
Another really good match-up. Usually they can deal with the board and keep on developping but not against you because your minions are really high-stated. Even with their best start (trog+totem golem or claw) you can beat them. Be careful of burst. Midrange shaman is a little harder but still a favorable match-up.
Control shaman : 55% WR
An even match-up in my book. They tend to be very passive in the 4 first turn and try to come back with cards like volcano/ lightning storm. But usually, you have more than 15 health on board by turn 4. Entomb is usually MVP if they go for a big taunt + ancestral spirit. Try to get hex with Operative too.
Freeze mage : 60% WR climbing, 35% in high-legend
Here is the weakness of my deck : no Shadow word : pain and no bookwyrm. Frost-nova + doom sayer hurts a lot. But most of the time you win by out-healing them while popping the block on the alex turn. On high-legend, most player don't go for alex and burn you from 27/28 hp with thaurissan into thalnos + ice lance. Priest of the feast is MVP, keep him in your opening hand.
Reno mage : 70% WR
Same as it was in standard some months ago, dragon priest tends to run over reno mage with boards that are hard to clear for them. Their out is to pull a lot of deathrattle minions with an early N'zoth or to have an insane early Khazamakus potion. Most of the time you beat them pretty easily.
Reno priest : 80% WR climbing, 60% WR in high-legend
If you like awesome matches, you'll be served. Here is a match that tend to last. Control the board, play as much as you can around dragonfire potion and Lightbomb. Most of the time their hand run dry faster than yours if you can keep the tempo high. 4-attack minion are a pain for both sides, Operative and historian are MVP.
Combo priest : 60% WR climbing, 35% in high legend
Try to maintain the board and to keep the health of their minions as low as you can (by "bumping" into them without killing them sometimes). Beware of velen's chosen. Dragon fire wins games.
Renolock : 50% WR climbing, 30% in high-legend
You need a great start to get them on the ropes. The key is to force them to play in a reactive way most of the time while playing around their AOE.
N'zoth control warrior : 80% WR
Play around brawl, generate value, crush them ^^.
Midrange hunter : 70% WR
Their gameplan is similar to yours at the exception that they go face around turn 6-7 when you start generating more value. Your early minions are better so you tend to win the board control war.
Dude paladin : 70% WR climbing, 50% in high-legend
Control the board as much as you can, don't let the dudes live. Primordial drakes are great, azure/velen's chosen + holy nova clears a board full of 3/3.
Jade druid : 65% WR
You play a high tempo deck with high-stated minions which druid really struggle with. Their best solution is to grow their jade really fast or to get an early primordial drake. This may be one of the only match-up where face can be the place (sometimes against reno deck too).

If you want to see the deck in action :
hey guys. Im about to craft this deck after i didn't played HS for over 1 year. So I read that you only get Twilight Welp in the Blackrock Montain adventure. But I can't find this adventure?! So does that mean im not able to get that card? If yes, what card should i take instead? Thanks in advance!!!
Oh I just saw that i am not able to get the blackwing technician and the blackwing corrupter either lol
Isn't Dr.boom too good not to play in wild?
EDIT: Also, is the plan to get lategame with netherspite/drakonid op?
Hellllo friends, I wanted this to be more of a discussion point than anything; I think this deck is great. Lots of really great synergy that crushes most of whom ive faced (13-3 so far). My topic of discussion is that while this deck is great, is there any need for any new cards? I'm interested to see if people are adding Bone Drake or brann and if you guys are having more or less success, thank you!
Slight edit to make my point a little more straightforward; I love including new cards into the decks I play and wanted some potential suggestions
Love the deck, lots of fun. I was losing long/fatigue matches vs renolock so I added bran and Ysera. Now Renolock gets me almost everytime and I feel half my matches are against Renolock. Does Dirty rat over Wyrmrest Agent sound like a good idea? I know to rush their face but they pull that reno by turn 6 almost everytime. Only hope I think is Dirty rating thier reno/ kazakus/ Jaxx but havent tried yet. Any tips for those darn Renolocks would be great. Thanks.
A great deck to play, fun games that sometimes is so great I feel bad for the opponent. Some luck of the draw and it's top fun times!
Got me from 8 to 5 with only 1 loss. Stronger than expected!
could anyone suggest an alternative for the netherspite historian because I have only got one wing in kharazan..
First of all I didn't downvote you
Second of all I can't get it because I have to to complete kharazhan to even craft it
my idea was to run jeweled scarab & brann, is that alright?
cheers
I have to say I like the deck but I have some critique after playing around with it.
First, 9 dragons. Not enough, not with two Twilight Whelps, two Wyrmrest Agents, and two Blackwing Technicians. This deck's early game critically depends on having a dragon, and 9 dragons means (ROUGHLY, don't kill me staticians) a 76% chance to draw one in your opening hand, without accounting for mulligan - which is by the way another problem, your only cheap dragon requires another dragon to be activated, which means you need to either actively mulligan away your early game to be able to get a dragon to activate your early game, or you have to keep a dead 1-drop in hand. anyhow, this 1 out of 4 games where you wont draw a dragon is a game where you're at a massive disadvantage.
Second, the deck is stretching itself a bit thin. Youve not got the endgame to compete with a dedicated control deck, because you'll get out valued, but you also don't go all-in on the early game cards to beat aggro. With only 1 Potion of Madness, and only 1 Holy Nova, you're really not going to consistently be able to stop pirate warriors or midrange paladins from snowballing. Also with only 1 Dragonfire Potion, a Conceal'ed Gadgetzan Auctioneer is likely to be surviving a turn, and with no real powerful draw you're not promised to get your one-of removals at all.
So those are the two main problems I think the deck has, my suggestions are
That's about it. I really liked the deck, congratz on hitting Legend!
I would argue that 1 big endgame dragon (Ysera, Deathwing, Chromaggus, Malygos only if you run 2 Holy Nova, Onyxia, Nefarian, take your pick) and 1 utility dragon(Book Wyrm or Azure Drake).
And to take out probably the Blackwing Technicians, because its not really that good of a card when compared to Kabal Talonpriest.
If you're intent on keeping Velen's Chosen, then instead of a utility dragon I would take Dragonkin Sorcerer which has good synergy with it and Power Word: Shield. Only one though because there are enough 4-drops already.
Warriors will Brawl, and Shamans will Devolve.
I think this is a bit of a stretch, a 1/4 without taunt on turn 2 is not a good play, and will get you stompted by Pirates or rekt by shamans' earlygame.
Still I think you've got a fine deck and again congratz for hitting Legend.
Cool deck!
First time R15 in wild for me :D
Hey! Nice deck and gratz! I started to use it and I made it from rank 8 to 5 with a score of 9-2
Really bland and bad deck, okish against aggro but gets BTFO by control
Thx for the response mate. Although the eater of secrets did help against the mage decks and most of the paladin decks, it was kind of a dead card with the stats of a 3 mana for 4 mana in my hand. I totally understand why you shouldn't replace a corrupt now. Just hit 2, hoping to get to legend soon :)
Hy bullseye, Im tryning to rush to legend too in the wild (i never get legend) And im get 4 stars rank 4. How its your current version?
Thanx =D
Hey, really love your deck but I am having a little trouble getting to legend in wild atm. I loose to every mage I come across and I just went against 4 mages in a row in rank 4 lost all my 4 stars and I'm now really pissed. I wonder if I could replace a black wing corrupter with a eater of secrets. The version I currently play with is the exact same except for the inclusion of ysera instead of a second primordial drake and a twilight drake instead of a second twilight guardian. I don't want to replace any other card because all of those have won me games against both aggro and control. BTW why don't you run brann in the deck? I've had games were I would kabal talon priest my brann and then play nether spite historian, pick up more battlecry especially and crush the opponent next turn unless he somehow removes it. Would really appreciate a response on what you think of the changes of made, as it gave me a quick grind with a winrate of above 80 percent to rank 4 as I've said before.
