Heroic Instructor Razuvious' Priest
Hi everyone and welcome to this week's Heroic Military Quarter's guides. I'm MrPLJ and today I have attempted to build F2P decks to beat those demonic bosses. Razuvious is the first boss of the quarter, let's see what he has prepared for us.
Background Check
First thing that strikes you when you see Razuvious is his hero power, for (1) mana he can deal 4 damage to any character, and that includes face! To make matters worst he has three Massive Runeblades which are 10/2 weapons that deal double damage when he hits the face!
To help you against this overpowered beast of an Instructor, you get a Mind Control Crystal which helps you take control of his two 0/7 Taunted Understudys. So they will basically help you take the first few hits, and hopefully drain his first Massive Runeblade.
The Strategy
- For muligan, try drawing into Acidic Swamp Ooze, Lightwell and/or Divine Spirit. These will help you get past the early game.
- Our first step is to take control of the two Understudys, so turn 1 you want to use your Mind Control Crystal.
- After that, you want to keep your ground as much as possible, healing those Understudys and/or possibly buffing them, because Razuvious' turn 2 is usually The Coin+Massive Runeblade and that will kill an Understudy.
- Turn 3 should be about removing Razuvious' Massive Runeblade and if that can't be done, try to keep that Understudy alive.
- During your mid-game, you just have to build the board gently, and more importantly play Taunts and buff them up as much as possible.
- Be careful, Razuvious has a Brawl in his deck which will punish you for having an overextended board!
- To be honest, its all about RNG against him, he is very strong and one good top deck from him in mid-game usually means Game Over for you. Just persist, try again and hope for some good RNG.
I hope this guide and deck will help you overcome that match. I personally have a 60% win rate against him with this deck, so it is very hard but not impossible.
If you need help with the rest of the Military Quarter, check out F2P Gothik the Harvester and F2P The Hour Horsemen. Good luck!
Got a Massive Runeblade from mind vision. :D
Good deck, you will get real close many times but its a little rng and a little smart play. Stealing his Runeblade is a big deal because of the 20 dmg it inflict on him.
Wow, great deck. Thoughtstole his weapon and beat him in five turns.
I rly fucking did it.
I got two rune blades with one thought steal GG ROFL!
Mind vision got me his Massive Runeblade + had two lightwells so that was basically gg for him.
I lack 1 lightwell, 1 inner fire and 1 circle of healing. the deck could work well, I got close then realised he has three runeblades, which is hard to counter even with many taunts and 2 swamp ooze.
Yep thats what happened to me. I got super lucky cause he used his coin when he had 1 mana only. So I got my study to 20 health and turned it to attack then went to his face. Then he attacked it with his weapon and i pulled one of his weapons of my own and smashed him down. I think if you havent got this by turn 6 youre gonna lose.
Excellent it worked on the first try and I had a lack of some cards... I just register to write it, piece of cake thank you.
worth noting that bloodsail corsair serves as an ooze for 1 less mana. Although that increases dust cost of deck
won the first game. so fun
Great deck, not that I saw much of it in action as I beat him turn 4 with a 28/28 understudy. Gotta love when RNG gives you turn 1 mind control, double divine spirit, and inner-fire, and he doesn't hit the spirited one xD
some modifications needed
Sigh... I discovered he have 2 brawls in his deck, not one <.<
*After like 6 try, I finally killed him.... with his own Weapon ;)
I'm very surprised this comment isn't up voted more. I spent a couple hours using the strategy the op had mentioned with no luck. The first time I tried buffing the understudy while they were on the opponents side and waiting to steal the Understudy for a couple turns, I beat him easily. This comment definitely deserves more up votes or even be added to the op.
Great deck, worked first try. I was able to Mind Vision a Deathlord from him on turn one, and though he killed the understudies, it took him long enough for me to set up a Deathlord + Divine Spirit +Inner Fire combo and get a 16/16 going. RNGesus was with me here though, since the Deathlord survived the subsequent Brawl and won for me.
I didn't have any if the 12 cards you would have to buy, but I still beat him using your base cards. My 12 substitutions:
1. Holy Smite (only one, two isn't that useful)
2. Shadow Madness (filler mostly, but can be useful to steal acolytes for a card draw.)
3. Temple Enforcer (ok card, never really got to use it)
4 & 5. Deathlords (cheap, they will save you, and you can buff their health)
6. Fen creeper (more expensive senjin basically)
7. Gurubashi Berserker (this guy did so much damage, would consider running two in retrospect)
8. Harrison Jones (Sat in my hand mostly, but great insurance)
9&10. Spectral Knights (too good, belongs in any Raz deck imho)
11. Maexxna (also belongs in any Raz deck, killing machine behind the taunts)
12. Mind Blast (filler and bad, realized just now I have a Bloodsail Corsair, I should have run that instead)
finished him in fifth turn.
mind control > double health > pws pws inner fire (18 attack) > mind/thought steal > minion with charge
Hope this deck has helped you beat the boss! Keep me posted and I'll be happy to help. Cheers for the support!
Thanks man! Kill him at the third try
