After reach legendary rank these season i spent about 3 to 4 days working on this deck, at first it was a joke, but I ended up realizing that the deck is very effective, mainly due to the time plays, and because of the class cards against attacking the classes themselves effective.
It is not an easy-to-play deck, since most of the plays are decided based on the cards we have stolen, and due to the large number of possibilities. But I assure you it's a very fun deck and you will not be able to stop playing. Well played the right way is a deck with a positive winrate. I am currently [37-26], and I believe it is possible to achieve a better percentage, because at the beginning I would end up committing some missplays and mulligans wrong.
With some likes i gonna explain better play with these deck, but basically we want keep Swashburglar in hand with Backstab, Hallucination, Eviscerate,Undercity Huckster(with a 1 turn play our coin, cause we can go for heroic power in turn 2), Fan of Knives is good if you have Preparation and never keep Mimic Pod and others cards.
Update: Version 1.1
Hi, after some reports and comments, i experimented some changes and trade 1 Mimic Pod for Edwin VanCleef and 1 Thristle Tea for 1 SI:7 Agent , i trying to made it good in value and tempo in the same time, maybe in the future we can change it more.
We really have so much 5 drops, but its not a problem, cause Vilespine Slayer are not used in curve every time, in late game we can make 2 5 drops in a same turn, and Lotus Agent and Ethereal Peddler are good in late curves too, cause we can discover a complement our reduce cust of some cards to use with it in a late turn too.
This deck is super fun and pretty good too. I have a 60 % win rate with only 10 games played. Its a great deck if you want a new experience each game and not like the meta deck witch uses the same strategy each game.
I dont know what it is, but I really dont like Thistle Tea, so I replaced them with one SI 7 Agent and Edwin VanCleef as someone here suggested. So far the Obsidian Shards, Etherial Pedler and the VanCleef has been the real MVPs of the deck.
I will for sure continue to play and have fun with this deck. Thanks a lot AlfaceVerde for posting this decklist
Thnks for the reply! I liked so much the report, really Ethereal Peddler and Obsidians the real MVPs of the deck, this card are underestimated but can destroy in tempo plays. The change of Thistle Tea in SI:7 i think is a good idea, gonna try some variations of these and report. Thnks again and good luck!
Not enough creature. This decks mean to finish game in middle game.Arcane giant will help.
I gonna try some versions with arcane giants, and some versions with SI:7 agents, they are really good options in these deck. Tnks!
I'm not a legend player but I've had probably 150 or so games of experience with this archetype over various seasons and at least 25 this expac. The one thing I'll say here is that Elise is next to useless. I played the pack once in those 25 games and really didn't even need to. The deck is not some value machine; it's a deck that holds the board as best as it can and then uses the massive tempo swing of peddler to pull ahead to a victory. You can't just wait around and outvalue other decks like priest and quest warrior. I would highly recommend Gadgetzan over Mimic if you want a draw mechanic since you have a ton of spells to cycle with and can generate and cheapen even more. IMO the five slot is already packed and Lotus Agent could be cut for SI:7 to help your board state or Edwin for mega combos with reduced cards. Ofc I don't know everything so maybe your iteration works differently but I can tell you that Elise is not worth it.
EDIT: I didn't even realize Thistle Tea was in this deck. That should be cut right away. Far too slow.
In that case, is Vanish good?
IMO it's too slow unless combined with Preparation. This deck should often be ahead on board as it's filled with high tempo removal. Vanish is generally better for resetting board state against midrange decks, but most of the time we're contesting the board as we go.
Hi, tnks for the report! Good, i liked your comments, Elise is a option for value matchs, but can be so destructive if you pack and Peddler, in a tempo version really can cut it off, and put something like SI:7, i don't think Gadgetzan is a good option, is a really heavy drop, and can break early game, i having good experiences with Lotus Agent, cause we can choose a card, and its so good, you can adapt your choices for each match and peddler it, maybe is not a good choice trade it.
Vanish is not a good option, cause we lose tempo with it, maybe in a arcane giants version can see play, cause is a good combo.
This deck looks fun and viable. But can you beat face hunter with this? Because I keep going up and down between rank 18-20 and there's a lot of beast hunters snowballing with their hyenas :'(
Save your Vilespines or Sap for Hyena plays. They can rarely charge with them so you almost always have a turn to react first. Replace the Lotus Agents with SI:7's if you're having a hard time with hunter and other aggro decks as Lotus is often way too slow. Try to always clear their minions, even if it's not a great trade for you as they have plenty of beast buffs that get negated if they don't have minions.
Thanks for the tips @Pietusak and @WhatAChamp. Before I read those, I actually built myself the deck and that was my first time ever playing burglar rogue. The result was unexpected--this is the most fun rogue deck I've ever played so far (even more fun than plant rogue)! But I'll take your word for it and play around Hyena plays when facing those pesky hunters.
I did, however, tech in several cards that I currently don't have. I also put in Sherazin, Corpse Flower and it worked wonders for me. Thanks again for posting this deck :)
Honestly I've been playing this archetype for around 8 months (ever since Peddler was released in Kara) and it is by far the most fun deck around. Your games are always unique and there's a level of unpredictability that your opponent cannot play around. I've gotten stupid crap like Velen + new priest copy minion + Eviscerate for a 16 damage to face as a finisher or a Flamewaker/Gadgetzan combo last expansion. People don't like the inconsistency of it but it's absolutely incredible to play IMO.
That is so true; every game will never be the same. I once faced a shaman and because of my luck I got craps like 3x Ancestral Healing and 1x Bloodlust but guess what... I actually won the game! Bloodlust was my win condition after I swarmed and stalled the board with Ancestral Healing!
That being said, I'm looking forward to laddering with this deck for this season :)
Hunter matchs for me is one of the better matchups, and murlocs paladin too. Try to remove them early with eviscerate, sap our backstab.
maybe you are making somethings wrong, i really having good experiences against aggros, paladin's matchs is so favorable.
This deck is fun but i'm going to go ahead and say edwin is required to be added to the deck. He basically completely wins games vs any other rogue if you play him first.
Tnks for the report, i think the better card to trade is a Thristle Tea for a Edwin Vancleef, gonna make some tests and if i aprove, gona change in the deck. Tnks again!
Replacements for Shaku and Elise? Also do you think shadowsteps and/or Yogg can find a place in this deck?
You can put a second sap and a vancleef, our 2 SI7 agent, maybe a Thalnos and one of these cards i told.
