This is the deck that I used S35(pre-Small-Time Buccaneer and Spirit Claws nerf) from rank 5 to legend with a 88-66 record.If freeze mage worked in that aggro-heavy meta then it always will.

Basic gameplan:

  • Early game(turn 1-5):-You control the early game with your cheap minions(like Mad Scientist and Loot Hoarder), and cheaper burn spells(Frostbolt/Forgotten Torch)  while drawing as much cards as you can.
  • Mid game(turn 5-9):-In the mid game you typically do 2 things: draw cards and protect yourself.This can be trough freezeing the board(best accompanied with Doomsayer),removing minions with your spells or playing defensive secrets.
  • End game(turn 10-):-If you managed to reach the endgame you most of the time you use Alexstrasza on your opponent on turn 9 then finnish him/her off with burn spells the following turn. Or you can (or have to) go for the full OTK if you have not drawn Alexstrasza in time.Then you have to stall out the game until you have the combo pieces(see OTK section), them you drop Emperor Thaurissan to discount your hand, next turn finnishing him/her off.

This is the basic gameplan,but you have to keep in mind that every match and matchup is different,you have to think about your win condition(and how can you get there), the enemy's pressure and the opponent's healing potential every turn if you want to win.

 Some OTK Combos(after required Emperor Thaurissan discount):

Tech choices:

Draw---------->Freeze-------->Alex------->Burn 'em to the ground!!

Changes:-2 Loot Hoarder + 2 Novice Engineer

  • In the current meta I think Novice Engineer is a more reasonable pick as there is not as much aggro as there used to be.
