This deck is a midrange hunter with the focus of finishing the quest with the least amount of deck space possible. Here, there are only 8 one-mana minions, but with their traits you have a total of 12 one drops to use to complete the quest.
- Fire Fly, though not a beast, is included due to its quick turnaround and isn't a bad card to have in your opening hand for quest and mana effectiveness.
- Raptor Hatchling has the same benefit, just with a slower turnaround.
- Crackling Razormaw is definitely an optional addition, I just felt he had plenty of uses with his mana cost.
- Ravasaur Runt is here because you should have little issue triggering his battlecry with the minion composition of this deck.
- 2 Tol'vir Warden are included not only for quest completion, but for pulling out more of Carnassa's Brood for the lovely card draw.
- Swamp King Dred is more of a control based pick but can be swapped out for Call of the Wild or something more aggressive.
- Scavenging Hyena could be exchanged for some secrets, but I figured that since Carnassa's Brood can be easily comboed with Tundra Rhino, you could use it to grow a strong Hyena. (On a tangent, am I the only one who refers to this as a beaver? Its haunches look like a tail, its back is domed like a beaver's and the pile of bones is very dam like.)
Post-Dump Edits and Proposed Swaps
- -2x Arcane Shot +2x Grievous Bite
- Grievous Bite will provide a better control point than Arcane Shot and could provide that 1 extra damage to more effectively clear the board.
- -2x Timber Wolf +2x Jeweled Macaw
- The Macaw replaces the wolf to add extra chance for 1 mana minions to play. Stampede is another potential replacement for Timber Wolf but I chose Jeweled Macaw because it is a 1 mana minion itself and is a common rather than an epic.
- -Crackling Razormaw +Dinomancy
- Dinomancy will usually be a better card than Crackling Razormaw because Dinomancy will give you infinite value. One is only included because I felt 2 Dinomancy was overkill and as an epic could be expensive, though you could replace the other Crackling Razormaw for the second Dinomancy.
- -2x Houndmaster +2x Vicious Fledgling
- This is a change to the more aggressive, as Vicious Fledgling will be a huge threat. Every time it hits face, it will gain a new adapt trait growing even larger and more threatening. This is completely optional as Houndmaster is still a good inclusion in this deck.
Potential Swaps
- Ravasaur Runt <- Freezing Trap or Explosive Trap
- Traps can be better than an adapted minion, up to you
- Swamp King Dred <- Charged Devilsaur or Call of the Wild
- Legendaries can be expensive for many of us, so swapping the best case legendary for an epic isn't off the table. Charged Devilsaur can be used as a control card, though he is basically a -1 -1/-1 King Krush. Call of the Wild is even more expensive but is also a good epic rarity finisher.
