Amaz took a brand new account to legendary in about 36 hours playtime / 150 wins on 5/23/14. Yes, he did manage to get lucky and pull a  Ragnaros the Firelord from a pack. He accumulated about 400g from dailies and decided to spend that gold on packs and the 3rd pack opened contained the card.
