The Deck has been updated to Explosive Snipe since GvG !
Hello everyone I’m Spark, Legend player from Hearthstone, and today I’m presenting you a Control Hunter that I recently built and had some great success with.
The basic idea was to play Savannah Highmane as a late game threat and Eaglehorn Bow as a versatile control and pressure tool along with Snipe to annoy Miracle Rogue and Explosive Trap to fight Aggro decks. The slower nature of my choice lead me towards a Control archetype, using a synergy that I already tested before : Wild Pyromancer and Hunter's Mark.
That's it for the guide guys, I hope you'll enjoy the Deck as much as I do !

Do you find it near impossible to effectively use snipe effectively when they have a minion on the board already?
Or is it more even though the opponent knows what the trap is and can play around it.... it still delays bigger threats from coming out?
*Found it* Testing it thanks man.
Crazy to think no buzzard and hounds!
wow with this deck from 15 back to 18....
Always practice with a deck in casual, first. This is a half decent deck, you just need to play with it to learn its tempo and combos.
Thanks for this amazing deck, made me switch my main class from Mage! I changed 1xArcher for Secret Keeper and 1xSnipe for King Krush.. The KK I could not resist (got him 3 times in packs already, at first added him mostly just for fun reasons) but so far had only two games (played ~70 games with him in deck) where I had him in hand and he did not see play (I focused on counting that). He also helped me win few games against Handlocks which I struggle the most against. I would say he is quite valuable in this deck, but maybe that is just specifically for my play-style. Anyways, good job!
Very nice deck! Due to budget issues I have replaced Baron Geddon with Abomination. Is Snake trap worth using in this deck?
I tested a lot with this card, but it works better as one of in a beast environment so unfortunately, no place for it in this deck ^^
How about Sylvanas? I just pulled one from a pack and I was wondering whether or not it has any value in this deck?
This is deck is absolutely amazing. Even your worst match ups can be destroyed if you know how to use the deck and understand when to dig for cards or use your board clears effectively. I dropped from 15 to 19 with my mage deck I was using, and using this deck I went from 19 to 9 and I'm still climbing the ranks. Great job seriously.
not really, most my wins are from people who concede after i beat them a few before or one back to back. vs a tauntlocks it gets decimated by its own board clears.in. 12 matches i have 7 wins and 2 were from people i beat the within a few minutes of a rematch they conceded on turns 1 and 3 (the back to back match game conceded on turn 1). and miracle rogue walks all over it. vs other control decks it comes down to better draws at the end and when players send in low level minions to trip freeze trap/etc so fatties can stomp you. empty hands are more common than naught as acolytes are bait for anything. KK seems more viable than barron in the late game as the need to clear the board that late AND take dmg is horribly bad especially when they have health lead or vs pally/priest/druid who heal themselves with abilities/cards... snatched defeat from the jaws of victory a couple times after being within 5 health (both of us) and they heal and hit me for a small amount and then barron fries me at the end of my turn.
The issues you are talking about shows that you don't play the deck properly. A good management of the traps and board wipe avoid these situations ;)
I would have to agree. I have been very successful with my timing of my traps to make the most use out of them even if they sit in my hand and I find myself sweating it out wondering if I am making the right choices. In the end it seem that my judgement is normally correct. I find that correct use of the pyromaniac with my acolyte gives effect card draw on a small hand will providing valuable board clear with a well placed hunters mark. Truly you need to be 2 or 3 turns ahead of your adversary trying to predict their next move before they do. I can honestly say there have been no games were i find myself being destroyed by any deck.
Just got raped by this deck as a MIracle rogue, i knew he had a snipe down so i had to play my auctioneer 3 turns later until i finally got another minion to sacrifice. After that he had put a freezing trap down and i was not able to activate it without using leeroy. He kept summoning rag on the board after i sapped it and i was powerless to this deck.
When i first came across this deck i really wanted to make it but i dont have Barron so i have to save dust to craft him. Lucky i have King Krush to substitute Ragnaros for :D
LOVE the deck. Well done! Freezing a zoo's imp and then having them play it again into snipe was priceless.
I have the mana for Rag but I'm giving King Krush a shot for now. Seems like it would work. Rag might be preferable since he can potentially end the game through taunts and do damage without TAKING damage... but Krush gives you the guaranteed 8 face damage ftw if they don't have taunts/secrets.
Again, great job with the deck :)
Thanks =) Yeah you pretty much summed up the pros and cons of Rag and Krush, in the end I find Rag more versatile, but I have to admit finishing with King Krush is badass =P
Haha definitely! I hadn't seen his animation until today... its pretty epic. I had a handlock taunt 2 molten giants and ended up having to use Krush to take one of them out so in that situation I wish I'd had Rag! Ended up winning anyways tho. I'm having a lot of fun with it, only at rank 11 though. I went 6-1 today. Ripped through the Zoo decks... had a close match with a handlock... and a pretty close match with a control warrior. Lost to a hunter using the semi-control deck with Hyenas. Overextended and let a hyena run rampant after he played UTH. My fault tho, definitely not the decks :p
I may as well go ahead and craft Rag since he's useful in some other decks.
That's quite a weird deck to play. But I like it: 7 wins, 2 losses on rank 7
Thanks for sharing. You mentioned Greenskin, what would you replace for him? Why would one want to put him?
I don't really want to put him in the deck but it would be in place of an Azure Drake I guess ;)
Even tho it has great synergy with the bow I don't find him necessary and its body isn't good enough for me ^^
felt in love with the hunter thanks to this deck....although I wasted some dust to craft some stuff which made me not be able to craft leeroy jenkins for my other rush decks :(
