So this is the deck I've had the most fun playing! I'll get a more detailed write up in time but for now here's the basics that I've come up with.
This deck is based on http://teamarchon.com/decks/view/113-hobo-flood, which I saw originally from trump. The deck has evolved since then quite a bit. Got annoyed with secret paladin in wild, so I teched Eater of Secrets, which I'm not sure if is worth it or not. If the Meta calmed down, I'd put back in an Abusive Sergeant or Murloc Tinyfin
Mulligan strategy:
always keep: Argent Squire,Voidwalker, Knife Juggler, Imp Gang Boss, Dark Peddler
combos: Murloc Tinyfin/Voidwalker/Argent Squire + Hobgoblin, Voidwalker/Argent Squire + Lance Carrier, Nerubian Egg + Abusive Sergeant,
vs agro: Try to be sure to have a 1 drop, esp. Argent Squire. Haunted Creeper is good as well.
vs control/other: Sea Giant, Imp-losion, Defender of Argus
Stratagies:
If you are facing a slower deck, tapping on turn 2 usually results in a better result, since recovering from board clears requires more cards.
Always be mindful of Lightbomb when trading against a priest. this is the only clear that gets rid of your giants/reliquary seekers.
Try to combine Brann Bronzebeard [/card]when you play him, but don't be afraid to drop him on turn 3, as your opponent will likely have to deal with him, and for good measure because he makes[card] defender of argus, Gormok the Impaler, and dark peddler just insane. not to mention the ultimate combo of the 9/9 Reliquary Seeker (or 13/13 with two Hobgoblin! I actually had this happen once, and it was amazing.)
Speaking of Reliquary Seeker, playing it as a 5/5 is good, but always tap first to see if you can't combine it with a Hobgoblin, or the previously mentioned Brann Bronzebeard. The worst case is a 1 mana 3/3 when you need to play it naked with Hobgoblin.
Dark Peddler helps give you more draw than just your hero power. It can also help fill in the space missing from zoo by giving you Power Overwhelming or Soulfire, which can create huge swings of tempo for you. On top of that, there are plenty of 1 drops that you would only take when you have a Hobgoblin in hand/on the board. Angry Chicken? yes please.
Murloc Tinyfin serves as a counter to murloc paladin, in the sense that, while it messes up the OTK Anyfin Can Happen, it also makes playing Murloc Warleader be bad for your opponent. The only case where it is bad for you is when Old Murk-Eye charges for one more damage, but that's not the biggest deal. While the goal of having these 0 cost minions is to play with Hobgoblin, they serve further purpose to enableGormok the Impaler, and Sea Giant, and, to a lesser extent, Knife Juggler, Defender of Argus, and Reliquary Seeker.
Nerubian Egg is mainly a way to ensure that you have one minion, as well as allowing you to better come back from board clears. It's not really needed that you activate it yourself, but it can be a good idea some of the time.. This is a new addition and I haven't had too much experience with it.
Probably the most annoying match up is freeze mage, and if you face a looooottt of them, I would consider running Curse of Rafaam, just so you can have a way to finish them of first before they Alexstrasza and spell down your face.
Changes:
If you aren't facing many board clears, you could run a Wisp or Ironbeak Owl over the Nerubian Egg, or maybe over Echoing Ooze
Other than that most every card in the deck is great in almost every situation.
Special shout out goes to Dark Peddler, my new favorite card (pushing out Hobgoblin, but it's ok since they're bffs). Smooths out your curve, which you desperately need, and can surprise you with any number of one drops that you otherwise wouldn't run, but the situation calls for.
EDIT 2/15/16
-1 Defender of Argus, +1 Ironbeak Owl: Silence seems to be needed, whether to push for face or to undo an Aldor Peacekeeper.
EDIT 3/31/16
-1 Ironbeak Owl since it was the weakest card, +1 Imp Gang Boss to have more cards to play on an empty board.
thanks..went with enhance o
I'll have to give that a shot at some point, thanks for the tip.
replacement for gormok?
I would say to add Power Overwhelming, since when you play gormock, you typically have a 1/1 that you are willing to sac anyway. The main issue you run into with this is that brann's higher cost tends to help you later in the game when you have less cards. So in addition, you can either run an Ironbeak Owl or another Imp Gang Boss. The reason being that imp gang acts as midgame, and the 1/1 imps it spawns help you get better value out of power overwhelming in general. On the contrary, the reason run Ironbeak Owl would be because gormock loves to eat Sludge Belchers, as you'll find that you don't typically care too much about your opponent's big minions, since you can force them to attack into your giants as they get buffed by Defender of Argus, and getting damage through a taunt to either make ideal trades or just to go face will fill some of the void left by gormock.
In all honesty, the Reliquary Seekers are the heart of the deck with brann, and gormock, while super fun and useful, lacks a lower cost, making him not the most vital part of the deck.
Check out Zalae's new deck on his twitter. No reli and does have Brann.
I've been playing it, and with only 1 SG as I dont have 2, and working great.
I couldn't bear taking them out lol. I consistently play them as 7/7, and even when it's a 5/5 it still gives me flamestrike insurance.
But if you like that version better then I can't blame you.
