I Made an account just to post this deck. Now I have reached rank 2 with it coming from 14.
*Update*
I've subbed out one owl and mad bomber for another power word and wild pyro and I have to say I like the results thus far. Thank you WatkinsDon for the suggestion.
I'm back at 9 now due to experimenting with other heroes but this deck has just done wonders for me.
The key component of this deck is its overall versatility. Great against aggro, control, midrange types it really doesn't matter I've beat them all.
I'd say the thing I love the most about this deck is the starts. There are 2 kind of starting hands you would want to get the best one for me personally is:
Start with Coin play cleric turn one then use coin play blademaster turn 2 with CoH. Early board control and a draw and your opponent is pissed.
That's my ideal start but that won't always be the case which is fine because of ancient watcher.
You can start him turn 1 or 2 depending if you have coin or not. If you have owl or sunfury then early taunt or silence for again early board control. Then pop a cleric on top of that and your killing everything summoned and card draw.
Now for anyone who may think the 2 minions with silence is too much I highly disagree. They are for you as well as your opponent making that annoying death rattle go away or getting rid of a taunted minion you don't want trust me it meshes very well. Late games I've played Ancient Watcher, Spellbreaker andDefender of Argus combo so much it's just fun to look at.
Also silence also helps if you want to just direct where the 8 dmg from rag goes if you have it on the board.
The combos in this deck are wonderful with the AOE of soulpriest and CoH.
I've had very few games when the card draw was stagnant and you have plenty of clears from Holy Nova to CoH+SP.
Late game is where you shine though if it gets that far because if its an aggro type they are pretty much out of cards anyway.
Any other type of deck the Thoughtsteal does wonders giving you extra spells/minions or whatever. I love that card. Rag is there really just to bring the aggro and have them use unfavorable trades. I only used him to finish off one game. Most of my games were decided before I actually needed to play him.
You already know the benefits of Mind Control. But Yeah have at it and please comment and rate and let me know how it goes for you.
Also I realize not everyone has legendary's. Good subs would be:
Sunwalker and Boulderfist Ogre for Cairne Bloodhoof
War Golem, Sea Giant and Lord of the Arena for Ragnaros the Firelord
Can Mindgames or Shadowform replace a Thoughtsteal and Holy Fire
So are you going to update this deck? I like it but I think maybe it needs some updating? Hope you give us a update soon.
This deck relies too much on lucky draws... :(
i tried this deck without the legendaries and i have to say it didn't work really well for me. Maybe i didn't know how to play it right but i think you need Ragnaros and Cairne...
Yes, Ragnaros the Firelord and Cairne Bloodhoof Help, How ever there not essential to the deck. If you scroll up a little bit theres a section on cheap replacements for the legendaries that work quite well. Im Currently using this deck without the legends because i cant afford them either. Ive gone 10 wins 4 losses so far, Using Boulderfist Ogre as a replacement for Cairne Bloodhoof, And War Golem As a replacement for Ragnaros The Fire Lord although i'm close to crafting him.
I logged in just to say: SOUL EATER ICON OHMYGOSH
Nice deck thooooo.
I absolutely agree on the legendaries. I actually arrived on a similar version of the deck with Mind Control Tech against early Warlock aggro or an over-totemed Shaman. Also - Ironbreak + Silence generally but crazier me uses double silence to free up ancients, tick the wild pyromancer, etc.
I have built this deck card for card, however I can't handle rush zoo decks. Tips? Very good mid and late game though.
I added two Shadow Word: Pain for the sole purpose of zoo and aquarium decks. It really helps in my opinion. Also when you go against zoo or aquarium you need to mulligan your starting hand for holy nova, or some type of board clear, like soulpriest+CoH
I've had pretty good luck with this deck. I subbed Hogger for Cairne
Never seen such a fail deck before. You need so much luck to get a good combination and to win a game.
Lost time with this bullshit!
sounds like you played all of 3 games with a variation of this deck and got filled with rage
Hello everyone, Gobz0rnator here.Thought I should give a short review of a nubs attempt to play this deck.
I planned on playing 5 games to see how it would end out. Only change I made was Ragnaros the Firelord into a Temple Enforcer.
Please note I am not a professional player, nor do I claim to be above or close to average. Simply trying the deck for it's gameplay that anyone can handle.
ROUND 1:
First match: Victory (Health: 30)
Rank 17 vs. Rogue Murloc deck. Auchenai Soulpriest dominated the game for me, winning it with a stable 30 points left. Couple of Thoughtsteals caught a few murlocs which helped the swarming and control of board.
Second match: Victory (Health:30)
Rank 16 vs. Mage. Again the Auchenai Soulpriest took out everything the mage sent at me. Started with an early Wild Pyromancer that gave me immense control, forcing out both Fireballs on my silenced Ancient Watcher. Ended game with controlling the board with the help of the soulpriest.
Third match: Loss (Health:0)
Rank 16 vs. Warrior. Tougher game. Started 2nd which gave me a coin. Got me early advantage that would have easily won me the game, if not the warrior got a Brawl that had a hell of an RNG luck.
A lot harder to play this game once he cleared out my initial Wild Pyromancer combined with Ancient Watcher and Ironbeak Owl. He eventually buffed up his minions with Rampage which lead to my defeat - even if only a short way from Victory. Circle of Healing and Auchenai Soulpriest almost had enough damage to overwhelm his minions, but only almost.
Fourth match: Loss (Health: 0)
Rank 16 vs. Mage. Started first with a Northshire Cleric which gave me good control over the board vs. mage (One of the best cards due to it's 3 health, hard for mage to ping it).
Followed by the a Wild Pyromancer and Power Word: Shield. Auchenai Soulpriest took control over the game. As the scrub I am, I used Lesser Heal (that now does 2 damage) on my own Wild Pyromancer, effieciently killing it and giving up my heads start.
The mage follows up later with an Archmage Antonidas and gaining free Fireball every turn. Unluck with RNG and unable to killing it within three rounds makes this game my second loss.
Fifth game: Victory: (Health: 28)
Rank 17 vs. Shaman. Northshire Cleric followed by Ancient Watcher. Coin out a Spellbreaker and took control over the game.
That two mana beast of a guardian of priests is amazing. Definitely one of the best cards in the game (if you can get a silence/taunt on it)
Due to shamans high amount of control and strong minions in the form of Feral Spirit and other spells, this match could have been one of the hardest. A lot of battling between the control of the board and a lot of heals caused this match to end up in the favor of the priest (who could stay alive long enough to crack out that Holy Nova) and row the boat to victory.
Pros:
Very high control of board
Easy clear with multiple combos
High health minions such as Injured Blademaster together with heal to easily trade minions
Very high chance of winning if you don't make big mistakes
Thoughtsteal makes sure you never run out of cards, you can always max that mana usage every turn
Cons:
RNG can screw up your game (card draw, that is)
Games very rarely goes on above round 15, making many of your cards unused (such as Mind Control)
Summary:
With 3 wins and 2 losses, this deck doesn't look that good. But looks can deceive, and so can this deck.
Only reason you will loose is because of RNG or a major fuckup(latin:fuckis upus). Don't kill your own minions with Auchenai Soulpriest and you're all set!
It might not be the best deck in the world, but it's definitely one of the most fun priest decks I have played. And you know that fun increases win rate! Wait.. it doesn't? Hm, guess I will have to prove you wrong.
Round 2 in spoilers below for those that want to see more games.
ROUND 2:
I will play a couple of more games to try and get a better percentage win rate that will better show how capable this deck is against all classes.
Rank 17 vs. Hunter. Victory (Health: 18)
Rank 16 vs. Rogue. Loss (Health: 0) Only due to RNG and no taunt.
Rank 16 vs. Mage. Victory (Health: 30)
Rank 16 vs. Mage. Loss (Health: 0) Due to a total of 6 Fireballs.
Rank 16 vs. Paladin. Victory (Health: 29) Drew two Ragnaros with Thoughtsteal. Two.
Rank 16 vs. Priest. Victory (Health: 30) He aimed on low mana minions with a lot of healing battlecries. Didn't stand a chance after my Holy Nova + Wild Pyromancer combo.
Rank 16 vs. Priest. Loss (Health: 12) Similar style, just a lot more card draws and +spell damage. At the point I surrendered he had Ysera out for 6 rounds, and a total of 26 damage on the table. Bad RNG again, as one Auchenai Soulpriest would have saved me (Double Circle of Healing on hand)
Rank 16 vs. Shaman. Victory (Health: 19)
Rank 16 vs. Priest. Victory (Health: 30 ) Similar again. I coined out Ancient Watcher, silenced with Owl on round 2. He tried same but wasn't as lucky with draws. Game ended on turn 6. RNG.
Rank 16 vs. Priest. Victory (Health: 23) First game anyone actually ran out of cards. Anyone notice a lot of priests lately?
Rank 15 archived.
Stats: 7/10 wins in second round. I would say the more I play, the higher chance I would get on winning.
I believe the win ratio is around 80%, depending on RNG.
60% win in Round 1. (5 matches)
70% win in Round 2. (10 matches)
Loss due to RNG. Approximate win chance if played right: 70-80%
Please note this is just my attempts to show how good this deck is when played by a mediocre player.
I do hope it will be of help to someone reading.
Note it's also on high rank and cannot be compared to top rank decks.
Nice to see its getting you wins here and there on ladder. I have been tweaking this deck a bit here and there to mesh with the current meta and still climbing the ladder. I will post an updated version once I feel it's at a consistent lvl vs various decks. Right now a lot of back and forths
Yes, it works pretty well!
Currently rank 14, so the previous posts about not getting past rank 16 is completely all about the player.
I have no doubt that I can get down to rank 2-10 easily if I put my mind into it (and I never been past rank 15 before).
Still, a very nice deck. I play like 10 Hearthstone matches per week normally, so can't say I am anything near decent. But I am still climbing, and fast!
I dont think there is anyway this deck made it to rank 2, i cant get past 16
I started replacing some cards with taunts and a faceless maniipulator..it gets a little better
I did make it to rank 2 with this deck. Didn't think to take a screenshot of it though that was still in the practice season. It should get you to at least rank 10-8 without too much difficulty. Though that is where the grind begins
im happy with 16 tbh, its gotten a lot harder the past month or so
You know I really don't wanna sound rude when I criticize your videos so, sorry if it sounded like this.
1-You're not even playing ranked and decided to play against your friend, that's not how you show the strengths and the weaknesses of the deck.
2-Your friend (your opponent), made some weird, questionable decisions. For example, when he played Hunter, he didn't even attack your face after putting a taunt on the Buzzard, which is another questionable decision, he already have a beast on the field that he can use the Houndmaster on, so using the Buzzard without any other beast just for Taunt?!.
Again, don't get me wrong, it's appreciated that you demonstrated how they deck works, but not like that, sorry. :)
