Total Deck Rating

First deck i have posted on here. Leave a rating if it works for you:)
WARNING: This i a old deck. This is what i ran except for the updated cards from rank 5-legend season 3 and rank 20-3 season 4. It will still be good til around rank 10-7 (depending on your luck and skill) but then it will struggle and you will have to change up some of hte cards depending on the decks you meet but this basically is the same for all decks. I never intended for it to get so many views...
Very strong deck got me all the way to Legend last season and this season i am now rank 7 after playing with it for 2 days. last season i had about 70%. This deck has few bad match ups. I change up alot of what i use in this deck depending on the meta. Decks that run a lot of weapons i always win against because of freeze and the ooze. Mage is also very unusual to met so alot of people dont know how to handel a mage deck. Bad matchups are hunter ofc when you play against hunter you need to try and rush him down before he gets you. I always try and have board control with this deck if not playing against super rushy decks. I have been playing around a lot with this deck but find that this setup is the best for the current meta. I know that is prblly very similar to other mage decks but i just wanted to post because it works so good for me. If you have any questions or want me to post a video of the deck feel free to comment down below :)
Update: Added: Ghoul, sylvanas, pyroblast and a flamestrike. Winning A LOT more now. Ghoul is very underrated in the current meta it wins me a lot of hunter and shaman games were they just rage quit turn 5 because of a 8/3 ghoul. If want to sub anything sub for 1 of these: Faerie Dragon, Argent squire, fen creeper or ogre just my recommendation:)
Its viable but not good would not recommend it
Is this deck still viable in the current meta, or does it need some changes ? Thanks in advance :)
this is now the boogieman of the current ladder. trashes all rogues, trashes control warrior, does well against all hunters except cycle, goes toe to toe with ramp druid.
The flesh eating ghoul doesn't seem to fit this deck well, try a sunfury instead.
Mages are indeed making a comeback a lot of mage players in ladder atm. If you want a good mage deck that can make it to legend i wouldnt play this tho its rlly outdated. Im running a different version of this dec with a lot more 2 and 1 drops and im currently rank 3 from rank 6 with 4 losses so far:)
I am subbing 2x Earthen Ring Farseer for Acolyte of Pain and Flesheating Ghoul due to the general lack of heals. Have been seeing some great success with the deck so far, powering from Rank 14-11 on a winning streak. Mages are making a comeback!
Would one need to include Ice Block in this deck?
Hey.
Legendary player here. This deck is fun, but don't expect to break rank 7 with it in current meta, unless you're very (very) lucky.
Have fun.
I managed to get to rank 3 this season thats the highest i think it can go this meta without extreme amounts of luck(it took a long time getting to 3 over 250 wins in ranked with mage). Mages have a hard time this meta and mage is the only class i have ever played prblly will ever play so im hoping for some changes that will favor the mages a bit more and if they come i will try to get to legend again but i dont think its possible atm. If you have any good mage decks please link me them have tryed some frost giants and burst mage this season but i do 100x better with this deck. Btw what legend rank are you in and what class?. would really like to know:)
First off, your not a Legendary player. At least, not one that anyone has heard of, outside a closed beta, lol. Second off, you have written like 10 posts on Hearthpawn on 10 different decks and said basically the same thing. You have yet to produce a deck or create anything useful for anyone, save your own ego. If your so pro, then contribute to the community. Luck is 40% of this game, after all, it is a card game. All Card/Draw games require some luck in the first 5-6 turns.... unless your a leprechaun...in which case, why play at all?
This is a good base for most new mages to build upon. Everyone should have rush decks, control decks, agro decks, etc. I play based upon the "meta" which is just a cool word for...what other decks are out there that "majority" players are using.
Go Team Razer!
Brother, it was not in reference to you. It was intended for PascalIN. I replied to his comment not yours. I guess I should have made that clear, but the post was clearly in response to his comments. Your my mage friend. Us Mages gotta stick together. Mages FTW!
I was defending you, mate!
You so fucking funny. Because you think my ingame name is PascalN ? LOL.

Xzirez,
Hope you don't mind brother man: I did a little video showing the potential of this deck and how it stands up to each class. I did change a few cards but the core is still in tact. I get lots of Rage Quits with this deck. https://vimeo.com/90474872

Ofc not its basically trumps deck with a some minor changes :P What server do you play on? il try to add you:)
Recounted#1297 on Americas Server :)
Im having good success with this deck, I went from 25 to 15 in a straight line win. I realize its luck, but there is some skill in there also. I did change the Chillwind Yeti for a Spellbreaker. I know its 2 loss of health for my 5 mana, but on turn 4 I almost always need to silence something (It does hurt when I need to make that card a taunter, or Im up against another flamestrike or = in turn 7). I find that this deck is always pretty close 10/0 with players past rank 18. Even though its not a total upset, if played correctly, it wins 60-70% of the time. This deck can be a powerhouse and although I plan on changing 2 more cards, this is the best deck for all situtations. Also, as with any deck, you gotta know when to hold them....especially against a huntard.
I notice with the deck that its hard to get a bad draw. It seems to be luck but after playing with it for more then 300 games and almost always having at least somewhat of a good draw i can say its not luck. Against hunters you need to play few minions and if he has a secret its smart not to attack at all and just let him burn out his weapon. I used to have a problem with hunter but now i win all game against them.
I fear hunters most of all. Especially, ones with well placed secrets. Having said that I have not lost to a huntard, in some time. As a general rule I toss out anything with 5+ on the initial discard phase, or anything that requires another card to ramp up. I have yet to see Sylvanus bring me home the bacon, which is making me mistrust her. I was thinking of changing her out for one of the following cards: Illidan Stormrage. If he makes the turn I got a 7 damage on the board and potentially 1 or maybe 2 more. Hunters are the only reason I have not made the switch to this card yet. Reckless Rocketeer, if only she had more health (Argent Commander would be a better choice if the board is clear, but that is rarely the case on turn 6). I hate that she is sitting at only 2. However, placed correctly she could easily turn the tide. 5 immediate damage makes her a very tempting choice. Sunwalker: Its nice to have a taunter with a shield, with potentially 0 Damage on her first turn (Assuming she doesn't get CC'ed, which honestly makes the Rocketeer a tad more useful). Frost Elemental, With 5/5 and the ability to freeze anything on the board straight away, he is certainty a contender. If I was rolling ice lance he would be the obvious choice. Finally, I am leaning towards the Ravenholdt Assassin costing me one more mana gem. I like the idea of having a stealthed 7 on my side, or a Molten Giant. Molten Giant in conjunction with a Sunfury Protector can be a good combination. However, the few times I have had this combination it was too late because the field was already to set against me. I dont know man, what are your thoughts? If they took Sylvanus out of the game today, who would you change her for and why? Or do you have any suggestions on how to play her, perhaps Im missing something.
Sylvanas + sunfury in opening hand against a rush deck is amazing she has won me games just because of that combo. I think ravenholdt or sunwalker is prblly the best of the 1nes you listed. you just need to make sure to try and get the hexs or polys out before you play sunwalker and your pretty much safe. a good way to lure out the hexs are a early mana wyrm/ghoul or water elemental
