This deck is past its prime so I made a new loe Midrange Shaman-

Edit-
Basically I just updated the deck to be more geared for aggro decks to combat the current meta. The old deck is still just as good but not in the current meta.
-1 Acolyte of Pain -> +1 Haunted Creeper
-1 The Mistcaller -> +1 Doomhammer
check out http://theirronsmith.com/ to get great insight on the current meta and how to counter it.
Overview-
Early game just focus on clearing board and drawing cards. When the game slow down, you can drop strong minions, continue clearing board, and win.
Mulligan-
Always Keep- Rockbiter Weapon, Zombie Chow, Haunted Creeper, and Acolyte of Pain. Keep Mana Tide Totem if you know you can keep it alive. You can also keep Piloted Shredder if you already have other strong starting cards. If you keep Stormforged Axe remember you will only have 2 mana turn 3.
vs. Aggro- keep Earth Shock, Feral Spirit, x1 Healing Wave, and x1 Lightning Storm. you can keep Sludge Belcher if you already have a good hand. If you have a Healing Wave don't be afraid to use Stormforged Axe or Rockbiter Weapon to clear minions.
vs. Control- Mulligan dosn't really matter too much, normal I'll just bait out his clear with my totems and weak minions. I do really like keeping The Mistcaller though, the turn 6 tempo loss doesn't matter much against control decks but the buff can end up winning you the game.
Cards-
Shaman Cards
Earth Shock- Nullifys 90% of Secret Paladin cads and buffs, with +1 spell damage it can kill Haunted Creeper, Mad Scientist, and many more.
Rockbiter Weapon- Great clear and combos super well with Al'Akir the Windlord and now Doomhammer.
Stormforged Axe- kills most early drops such as Knife Juggler, Flame Imp, and unbuffed Secretkeeper, It can also be buffed by Rockbiter Weapon to kill Emperor Thaurissan. With 3 charges this card can completely control the early game. I only put one in because it dies off later game.
Flametongue Totem- Lets your totems trade early and also allows you to trade really well late game.
Feral Spirit- Great for trading early game and puts up a good wall late game.
Healing Wave- This card is one of the main reasons this deck can beat aggro decks, it also counters Alexstrasza.
Hex- The only hard removal that works on any minion.
Lightning Storm- the only Aoe board clear besides Elemental Destruction that shaman has. (I don't run Elemental Destruction because then I would have to deal with 5 overload or run Lava Shock and I don't have room for 4 more cards)
Mana Tide Totem- This deck has a low curve for a late game deck so I need all the card draw Thrall will offer.
Doomhammer- Strong at clearing minions in this stupid aggro meta, combos well with Rockbiter Weapon.
Fire Elemental- good clear + good body = great card
The Mistcaller- This card doesn't get near the credit it deserves, yes it is a loss of tempo the turn it is played but if the game goes on (witch this deck is designed to do) you will easily snowball into victory. It brings 8 cards to 4 health witch is out of range for a lot removal, it also makes it harder for aggro and midrange decks to trade into your Flametongue Totem and Mana Tide Totem, and just makes all your minions have hella value.
Al'Akir the Windlord- The best board clearing, face killing, face protecting card in the wild west.
Neutral Cards
Zombie Chow- great minion to control the board early.
Haunted Creeper- great anti-aggro minion.
Acolyte of Pain- card draw is key in this deck and gets really strong with The Mistcaller
Big Game Hunter- It just so happens that almost every deck runs a certain 7 attack minion, and his name is Dr. Boom. You can also kill Alexstrasza, a buffed Mysterious Challenger, or whatever else your opponent decides throws at you.
Piloted Shredder- I didn't have any 4 drops and Shredder is the best one in the game so I threw him in here.
Azure Drake- The spell damage works really well with Earth Shock and Lightning Storm and he draws a card, fits perfectly in this deck.
Sludge Belcher- Super strong taunt.
Dr. Boom- Target for enemy's Big Game Hunter
Replacements-
if you don't have Al'Akir the Windlord I would just make a bloodlust shaman
If you have any questions feel free to ask them in the comments, I would be happy to answer them.
enjoy :)
Since the heavy aggro meta is over, what replacements do you recommend for 1x Healing Wave ? or any replacements for other cards ?
Also, i think this deck lacks some finishers a bit. What are your recommendations?
Try out my new loe deck, 4-0 in rank 5 right now.

This deck was designed to counter the Super aggro meta so now it dosent work as well. After lOE I proboly wouldn't bother making this deck but who knows. If I can make this deck work I'll update it, if not I'll try to make a deck that counters the post-LOE meta.
I'll change It once the meta settles, I do know that Jeweled Scarab will find Its way into this deck and I'll proboly drop a Healing Wave.
PS. Craft boom, he is too strong to not craft and fits In almost any deck.

what is the rating of the deck?
It got me to 3 last season if that's what your wondering, I didnt play enough to get legend but I think the deck is good enough.
well the deck is working for me at least for now
Al'Akir the Windlord isn't a key card to the success of this deck, expecily if you run Doomhammer. That being said, I think he is the strongest shaman card in the game so not having him will weaken the deck a little. If you were to replace him I do think that Ragnaros the Firelord would be your best option.
Neptulon is waaaaaay better than mistcaller :p
I wouldn't call this a control deck... more like a slow midrange. Control shaman runs elemental destruction, lava shocks, and malygos
Control Shaman is more catchy than Slow Midrange Shaman.
Varranis' list is a Control Shaman :P I think he titles it "true control" because the hearthstone community has a very liberal usage of the word haha
I am playing a shaman control atm too. My version is more taunt based with bigger win conditions like Ysera and Alexstraza. It seems pretty good at about 70%. Has no game against burst damage, specifically rogue decks, and fair game against tempo mage, but everything else seems to be good.
sounds good, could you post a deck list? I would like to try it out.
Posted under my decks. Thanks for the interest.
Thank you for putting this deck up. I never thought I liked to play Shaman until now. +1
Tried this deck a bit, loving it so far. Will continue to play with it to see how it does.
I like it, I think the card draw from Mana Tide Totem is very important in this deck though.
I would replace the Stormforged Axe for Charged Hammer. 2 Zombie Chow is usually enough early game, plus you want the card draw from Mana Tide
