This Druid deck is doing surpisingly well vs aggro, even when it does not have any heal. The many taunts are helping you blocking damage. Controll will have problems with your Ancients and many threats that start coming up turn 5 and up.
Vs Patron Warrior make sure you keep your wraths ready for the Warsong Commander and boosts your swipes/starfire for sweeping troublesome boards. Try and bait them if you have good swipes in hand with the annoy-o-trons.
Malygos is best with the moonfires and in combination with Swipe. Make sure you cheapen eithet the Swipe or Malygos with the Emperor. The many card draws in this deck will help you get the right card in hand while maintaing a strong board. Don;t be afraid 'wasting' your Moonfires vs an aggro deck. Most of the times, your taunts will finish that game.
I decided to remove the Ancients of Lore for Nourishes since the turn 7 slot is where you want to stabilize and get your combo ready. Turn 5 Nourishes are much more safe with the removal set all being cheaper and the Emperor coming in on turn 6, it helps you out much more getting your combo ready.
how well does this deck work in the current meta?
i really like to add thalnos, what card do you suggest to replace?
This is definitely one of my fav decks!! Awesome job
Hmm, I like the idea a lot, and have all the cards, I use Bloodmage and 1 Lore in place of the 2 Sunwalkers because the silences are real rank 5-1. However, the auctioneer is the make or break piece, and my hand is always clogged w/ 5-7 drops that don't control enough to extend the game to the "miracle" ending. I don't want to swap them and drakes and dotc seem required, I feel like there's a replacement to be made somewhere for a mid-range game changer (a silence/tink, nat/coldlight, or violet). Also trying claw/pow back and forth and it's about 50/50 effectively for me still. Thank you for deck idea +
Playing it at rank 5 w/ wild growth and ysera instead of rag (my call I just like her), nat pagle & bloodmage instead of wild pyro (again my pref), and 2 heals instead of sunwalker, and its beating aggro and 50/50 on non-lock controls. Also claw is still better than PoW and the 8x 5 drops are still an issue and now I'm thinking of taking 1 starfall out because i have so much minion clear, and probably use another minion although I'm not sure if cairne/sylvanas or a lore or something is an option. PS. Haven't beaten any warriors but rogues take it to the face, hopefully can get some gameplay of it beating some legendary people.
Moonfire definitely doesn't suck, I think it's technically better than Claw and everybody seems to be playing that shit for some reason I can't understand.
You should really reconsider Starfall, Wild Growth and Claw, if you're cutting Ancient of Lore for Sunwalker, and I've made this mistake myself before, it means you don't have enough low drops and you have too many high drops in a Druid deck.
Like, play Harvest Golem for starters.
No such thing as too much card draw, the bad thing with Gadgetzan Auctioneer is that he's horrible in top deck situations where the good thing with Ancient of Lore is you're immediately back in the game off of a top deck. I thought Sunwalker would be a good defense minion as well, but honestly it isn't worth the 200 dust and here's why - it's completely screwed by Silence and Polymorph while the heal function of Ancient of Lore is always +5 life
Claw is a terrible, terrible card and here's why, unlike the other classes' 1 mana, 2 damage spells you have to attack the target, which means you have to take damage, you can't split your Claw and Hero power on multiple targets, you can't remove a minion behind a taunter or benefit from Spell Power so honestly forget that.
If you want another cheap spell that'll help you out in the early game, I really recommend Power of the Wild even if you aren't playing with Violete Teachers. The 3/2 gets the job done when it needs to be done and triggers Gadgetzan all the same, while the pump ability is totally clutch for favorable combat trades or closing out the game. I'm winning all the Druid mirrors because I'm playing Power of the Wild vs their Claw right now, Scout's Honor.
I've just been there, done that to the point where I don't know what else to say to convince you regarding the necessity of Ancient of Lore, once you get into bad mulligan situations vs aggressive decks you'll understand why Sunwalker and Gadgetzan Auctioneer are less than advertised. Play a Taunter and with 1 Silence/Polymorph you're dead, spend all of your spells staying alive and Gadgetzan is just a 4/4 for 5.
The life gain isn't about "stalling the game," it's about pulling yourself out of alpha strike range.
I also have no idea how you're getting that highly ranked without Force of Nature and Savage Roar, this deck auto-loses to Handlock.
Interesting approach on a Malygos Druid but how does it fare against aggro decks? The way I see it you seem very dependant on the Pyromancers early on.
I recently built a deck around Maly and Rag but I was forced to add Harvest Golems and an Earthen Ring Farseer to fend off aggro Warlocks. Then again, I'm not running Wild Growth and only 1 Innervate, so adding these might provide enough acceleration to be able to leave the Golems out.
Anyways, thanks for posting this build! Definitely going to try implementing some of your ideas!
On 10 mana, it gives you a card called: Excess mana, which is a 0 cost, draw one card, so 2 spells, = 3 cards.
haha. oops :p
Im using fairly much the same deck , but Twilight drake instead of druid of the claw, bloodmage instead of rag, and kobald geomancer instead of pyromancer
Nice deck, ty.
This deck worth it without Mal?
A bit off topic, i recently made a frost mage deck, that works quite well, it uses things like frostbolt ice lance to deal massive damage, thinking about posting it.

Bammo, it's surprisingly powerful.
