Hi guys. Made this deck on the first day of S14. It works almost the same as Kolento's GvG Demonlock. It's not handlock-type of deck, more midrange style with some lategame.
The current list you see here was made to counter tons of aggro decks in the first days of the season. I will change it to more controlish-style when the meta will be established. Going to play this deck up to high legend ranks this season, it's pretty viable for that with some changes. Also going to play it on the next Zotac Cup.
My stats:
Had 80% winrate when posted this deck. I'm climbing and facing better opponents so my winrate slightly decreased but it remains above 70% against most of the classes except just a few of them.
Cards explanation:
Power Overwhelming - It's awesome to make your Shadowflame better, also it gives you burst damage or can be used as Nerubian Egg activator. Against control matchups (let's say Control Warrior) when he plays one single legendary on board (Ragnaros the Firelord / Ysera etc) you can drop Sylvanas Windrunner and Power Overwhelming it to steal his legendary.
Darkbomb - Early game removal which allows you to remove Acolyte of Pain, Knife Juggler etc. In lategame it's an additional burst. Has synergy with Azure Drake.
Shadowflame - Probably the best AoE removal in the game which allows you to clear any board without sacrificing your own.
Abusive Sergeant - Cheap minion but still has value. It helps you to make good trades, to pop your Nerubian Egg, to make Shadowflame bigger. For example, you played Twilight Drake turn 4 and your opponent plays Sludge Belcher turn 5. You will be able to trade with Sludge Belcher using Abusive Sergeant. And probably the best use for this card is its synergy with Big Game Hunter. This combo allows you to kill 5 HP enemy minions. Can also kill your own Sylvanas Windrunner in this way.
Sunfury Protector - Helps against aggro.
Big Game Hunter - It's just awesome in this deck and it's the reason I use 2 of them here. It has insane synergy with Abusive Sergeant plus it gives you not just a removal but 4/2 body on board.
Blackwing Technician - This card has nice stats as a 3-mana drop. It's even better in Warlock decks where you have more card draw power and almost always will have a dragon to make it 3/5.
Defender of Argus - Helps against aggro the same as Sunfury Protector.
Hungry Dragon - It's probably my favorite non-legendary BWD card. Awesome stats for 4 mana and the negative effect doesn't hurt when you have minions on board to deal with 1 drop instantly. Also it might be very helpful against aggro when you get Zombie Chow from the negative effect (and it becomes positive). It happened to me when I was playing against face hunter and that Zombie Chow won me the game.
Twilight Drake - Always good in non-aggro Warlock decks just because you will always have cards to make this guy above 4/6.
Antique Healbot - Helpful against aggro. Double healbot is a must in this meta. Might cut one when meta becomes slowlier.
Azure Drake - It's additional card draw without losing 2 HP which might be very important in aggro matchups. Also gives you spellpower that sometimes can also be useful.
Sludge Belcher - Auto-include in any non-aggro deck.
Emperor Thaurissan - Useful legendary that can give you huge value especially in Warlock deck where you always have enough cards.
Sylvanas Windrunner - Must-have in this deck. Synergies with Shadowflame, Power Overwhelming, Abusive Sergeant + Big Game Hunter, Sunfury Protector, Defender of Argus.
Volcanic Drake - When your opponent become greedy and floods the board this card gives you an opportunity to retake board control after Shadowflame. Shadowflame + double Volcanic Drake + Sunfury Protector / Defender of Argus can win you the game against aggro decks.
Dr. Boom - Dr. Balanced Kappa
Alexstrasza - Helpful against any kind of deck. It's better than Lord Jaraxxus in this deck because it can be used in both ways: offensive or defensive.
Possible cards to include:
Ysera - Insane valuable card and my favorite legendary in the whole game. Will add it for sure when the game becomes slowlier.
Siphon Soul - You can use it as a replacement for one Big Game Hunter if you don't have two of them. Might be even better against aggro as it gives you bit more heal.
Blackwing Corruptor - Might consider to add it, for example, instead of Darkbomb.
Mortal Coil - Can be considered. I wanted to include it at the beginning but didn't find any place for it.

Sorry, I don't own Demonwrath currently, but I'd say it makes sense considering Hellfire is more damage to your face and the power of the AoE isn't important versus Face Hunter so much as having some AoE in the first place. By that principle you could also try Unstable Ghoul, which would be pretty random tech but may work. Demonwrath still triggers your Nerubian Egg's though, which is a nice bonus.
Have you tried Mortal Coil and/or Voidwalker? Making room for some early tempo would at least make more of a difference than Hellfire, IMO.
The Slot where i want to put [card]Blackwing Corruptor[/card] ... worth testing the Crusher but isn't it to situativ?
Really funny deck - Just one change
Since we're doing the eggs I decided to swith out Big Game Hunter with a Hellfire
This helps me a lot due to the boardclear potential it has aswell
I do know that we're running 2x Shadowflame but what can I say? - Im addicted to the AOE
80%? tell you what. you, sir, are a liar.
You, sir, must be a cleric to know the exact stats, amount of games, ranks, the player himself etc... and assume it's impossible to reach a 80% win rate ! Nvm you're actually just pretending you know better...
*Screenshot was bugged, fixed it in the comment below *
that's more likely. 66% seems fair for what I have seen and tested. got some bad luck in half the games but it was predictably better than a 50%, maybe 60% indeed. 80 looked way too much even before testing it.
it is not. 2 season ago I went on a 78.4% winrate with a zoolock, after 60ish games.
Smth is wrong on the screen tho. In total it's shown like 66% winrate 68-35. But if we look at classes stats I don't have 35 loses. I started using Hearthstone Deck Tracker not that long time ago and there must be something wrong in this statistics.
Update. Found the issue, the real statistics is here:
Going to make a guide tomorrow
Crap.. no Alex or Ysera.. Any good suggestions?
But, hey! Cool deck anyway!
i guess it's also the card draw and the fact that azure drake is a dragon
Very interesting deck !
What do you think about Ragnaros the Firelord instead of Alexstrasza ?
Or maybe Kel'Thuzad ?
Verry fun deck to play, swapped one Big Game Hunter for a Mortal Coil against the aggro.
I'm on a win streak at rank 9 now, made an account just to vote the deck up :)
And i changed the Alexstrasza for Ysera, by the time you are at turn 8 you already won vs agrro anyway and vs controle Ysera is so much better.
I'll try this, I'm confused about the 2x BGH though.
BGH has synergy with Abusive Sergeant here and I often use it to kill 5-attack minions.
Interesting deck...I want to try out a Dragon-style Handlock, but this might be more appropriate for climbing what with all the stinking aggro. I do have to ask though, why the second BGH? Seems a little out of place for a midrange deck.
Edit: Also, wouldn't it be reasonable to add a Chow and/or Coil to further help with aggro? Or do you feel the current list is good enough against it? Oh and does Blackwing Corruptor not warrant a slot in the deck? Sorry for all the questions. ;)
Double BGH has good synergy with Abusive Sergeant. You can kill even 5 attack creatures with this combo. Or you can Abusive Sergeant your own Sylvanas Windrunner and kill it with BGH to steal something good.
I thought about Mortal Coil in this deck, especially when you have spellpower in deck, such as Azure Drake. It has potential. I'm using this list to climb at the moment and it works for me. Once I reach legend this season I'm going to make some changes and improve it somehow depending on the meta.
I got rank 5 yesterday, but didn't play much this season yet.
