Hey guys,
just went to Legend this season with this Paladin-decklist. I went 31-6 with it, it was never that easy for me to get to Legend before.
The biggest changes to standard paladin lists nowadays are the additions of Troggzor and the Stormwind Champion to the deck. These guys (together with Tirion obv) are the kings in the current meta with their 6/6 stats. Unlike Dr. Boom they can't be targetted by BGH (and let's be honest everyone is running BGH now) and they are so hard to deal with.
With this amount of early game you have the board control on turn 7 nearly guaranteed and there are no good answers to troggzor if your opponent doesn't have anything on the board. Against classes like rogue Troggzor wins you the game by himself. Just give him a try - you'll love him!
This deck mainly focusses on board control - you have Zombie Chows, Shielded Minibots, Knife Juggler and Muster for Battle to establish a board, strengthen it with the Piloted guys or Quartermaster and finally you can protect it with the Defender of Argus, Loatheb, Sludge Belcher, Troggzor, Stormwind Champion and Tirion.
And if thats not enough you even have more "controlly" options with Ironbeak Owl, Sylvanas and The Black Knight, as well as some healing with Antique Healbot and Lay on Hands.
And before you ask: Yes, 1 Equality is more than enough if you keep in mind how valueable it is.
There are also some minor changes you can make for your playstyle or the metagame you're facing. It's possible to remove 1 Zombie Chow in a more control-oriented Meta for another Piloted Shredder/Sludge Belcher/Harrison Jones or more Card Draw (Cult Master does also work really well here!)
So I hope you guys will have some fun with this deck - I enjoyed it so much while grinding to legend!
I would love to give this deck a thumbs up. some things keep me from doing so. with the new added cards of mechs any deck can have early board presence. hence you must either get zombie chow in your opening hands or your pretty screwed. another thing is that hearthstone in general is more based on rng than actual skill. hence this deck is amazing and will win games but without any reliable draw the chance of top decking the needed card is low. another things is that almost any deck with mech can ruin your early game or board with more reliable trade. so far my experience with this deck is mixed. i won many matches but in ranked i keep losing to enemies with mech decks. so i changed the original deck to included avenging wrath for the board clear since desecration is just not enough without equality combo. great deck but meta is so screwed with the new mech decks.
Hey man, this deck is really solid and I'm having some nice results with it, thank you for sharing. I subbed Trogg for Dr Boom simply because I don't own Trogg. Having boom doesn't seem to be hurting me though : )
Do you post this on every pally deck?
personally i only use 1 quarter master. and instead use kelthuzad / sky golem. golem is so good with paladin midrange. gives much pressure as a 6 drop.
Or zero, and you use it with Muster for Battle or Antique Healbot or literally any other minion in the deck instead.
Cool deck! I've made a few changes that have been doing very well for me:
- 1Defender of Argus, 1Stormwind Champion, 1Quartermaster, 1Sylvanas Windrunner
+ 2Ogre Brute, 1Kel'Thuzad, 1Hammer of Wrath
The Ogre Brute might seem strange, but I felt the deck was missing a few sticky early game creatures that you could drop onto a naked board. You can put yourself into a situation where the 50/50 won't wreck you if it goes wrong and they trade very effeciently for board control. 2 Quartermaster was too much for me, I usually save my Quartermaster for a moment I can guarantee a massive swing in the game. The Sylvanas Windrunner feels a bit slow to me and can be game'd by the opponent quite easily most of the time, it also occupies the same space as Piloted Sky Golem. Instead, Kel'Thuzad has been doing some heavy lifting in this deck. Drop him on a turn where you can gain complete board control by trading existing minions and it's usually GG if the opponent doesn't have hard removal. The Hammer of Wrath provides a little card draw and a tool to snipe minions behind taunt / of importance.
nice deck. too many 1 of's but most are neutral cards. up.
i literally just DE'd trogg DAMN!
Would you say its okay if i replace him with kel'thuzad? If not what else?
edit = 40 minutes later 7-0 so far wow!
What??? why would you DE trogzorr?? it's such an OP card and important in many decks!
what rank?
This deck gets shit on my control war.
can i have a link to your rogue deck? i have a soft spot for the class but haven't been able to find a build that doesn't get trashed by taunts.
Good deck. Ths.
