Hey guys, Just opened Princess Talanji and wanted to make a competitive deck that included her, any thoughts? Have you tried her out yet?
I updated the deck a little to try to give it a little more synergy and flow. With the abundance of cards-one-hand, I thought adding Mountain Giants could step up the power level of the deck. I also wanted to add better ways than Seance to obtain new minions for our Princess. Elise is intended for the mega long games where even Anduin is a win condition and Holy Water seemed like a good fit since you'll always want to remove a minion with it and the deck doesn't have much to do with 5 mana anyways.
Update 2.0: added Zilliax and Holy Novas for a little healing and board swings. Twilight Acolytes help make good trades or reduce a big threat to almost nothing while making one of your own! I am also trying Drakkari Tricksters in place of both Curious Glimmerroots since they guarantee a card and have one more health to trade with.
I think going with 2 Devour Mind spells is best since they are the most bang for the buck and can really carry you in the later stages of the game; especially as you get closer to playing Anduin and Talanji.
Mass Hysteria is better then Holynova. I'd also recomend thoughsteals instead of devour mind because you never want to spend 5 mana doing nothng.
While I agree with you that Mass Hysteria is a better board clear than Holy Nova, this is more of a mid range deck that tries to maintain board control. With that in mind, surrendering your minions to clear your opponents' doesn't fit the play style and general goal of the deck; if you fall behind on board, you often lose.
As to Devour Mind over Thoughtsteal, I agree 5 mana is a bit expensive, but if I traded both Devour Mind spells for two Thoughtsteals, the deck would have nine 3 mana cards and only three 5 mana cards.
I would, however, prefer the Thoughtsteals since it both sets up for bigger turn 4 Twilight Drakes, and also makes it easier to use the Voidform Hero Power you get from Shadowreaper Anduin. But the extra card from the Devour Mind spells seems worth the 2 mana most of the time to me, especially since this deck doesn't have a lot of card draw other than Northshire Clerics.
