Dear all,

Here is the deck I used to defeat Lord Slitherspear in Heroic mode. In my opinion this one of  the hardest boss of LoE, so you may need several tries before winning.

This decklist is basically a variation of this deck presented by neonangel. He also provided some alternative decklists in mage and hunter if you are not a rogue player.

Why these modifications?

My main problem with the aforementioned decklist is they rely on obsolete cards.

I will rather focus on the motivations I made. The original decklist rely on many obsolete cards (i.e. Gang Up, Deathlord, and Antique Healbot), and I guess that you, like me, do not want to spend many dust to craft them if you started hearthstone with LoE.

So to be honest, the decklist I propose is probably a bit more stable that the original one, and I did not find alternative cards to Gang Up, but I managed to get rid off the other ones... So the main interest of this decklist is to save the dusts that you would have spend for 2x Deathlord, and Antique Healbot i.e. 240 dusts...

Some words about the modifications

I could not replace Gang up because you will end with low HP and you need to put some additional cards in your deck to not die by drawing too much.

The main problem is to find some healing source and nice taunts to replace 2x Deathlord, and Antique Healbot. To this end Rotten Applebaum seems perfect: the cost is the same that Antique Healbot, you replace the Deathlords by two taunts. The problem is that Deathlord is better because it remove one cards from the deck of the opponent, and it is less expensive in mana.

At the beginning I replaced the last 3rd cards by Tar Creeper and was close to succeed (draw game, I would have won with 1 more HP). So... it is maybe feasible with some luck.

The problem is that Antique Healbot had a synergy with Brann Bronzebeard which means that you can hope to get 16HP in some situations. To circumvent this problem, I decided to use Sonya Shadowdancer.

The idea is to play Sonya Shadowdancer when you have many minions on board especially Rotten Applebaum, and your poison minions. If you have enough taunt minions, you could possibly summon 4 or more Rotten Applebaum and hence get the healing source we were looking for. Obviously, Sonya is great because it allows you sacrifice your minions (e.g. with poison or your Coldlight oracles). This basically means that you can do some interesting trades to keep your Vanish more longer in hand.

How to play this deck

The most important points are already explained in the video published by neonangel, who did a great job. Do not hesitate to upvote his great guide.

  • Remember playing Vanish at the right moment is the key to win with a mill deck. You want to cast it when the hand and the board of the opponent are as full as possible.
  • Do not play Sonya Shadowdancer to early. It is a card that you want to play late, when your Rotten Applebaums are summoned.
  • See the other important mechanics in the video.

Victory!

Another Heroic Adventure completed!

Good luck, and do not hesitate to upvote if you enjoyed this decklist and if it helped you to win!
