Hello and welcome to "Conquest Rogue"
So I wrote this massive message before which got removed so wish me good luck writing it again.
This deck is mainly focusing on boardcontrol while maintaining the "Aggro" touch to it since you wanna end your opponent at round '8-10' Don't worry if you don't because the deck of course runs value cards like "Cairne Bloodhoof," "The Black Knight" and "Silverhand Knight" for the late lategame.
You wanna look at an early start with "Defias Ringleader" or "SI:7 Agent" This will get you maximum value when it comes to trading.
Q&A
Q: Can I run Gadgetzan Auctioneer instead of Coldlight Oracle?
A: Yes you can, infact this is probably a more safer play just a bit more expensive
Q: How do I count Handlocks / Decks with big minions overall?
A: This is probably a better deck when it comes to Handlocks and such:
Here's my youtube video of me playing this deck:
I played this deck and lost badly. There's not enough card draw and it's painful playing another class that has a steady supply of cards and board control. You have to be extremely luck, otherwise you're screwed.
I don't understand how this deck could actually stand up to the current meta, much less a basic zoo or hunter deck. I couldn't beat a priest, because I couldn't get the right cards and he took board control. I just sat there with black knight, defender of argus and conceal in my opening hand while he pulled out all his little death rattles. And yet when I managed to clear his board, I could never keep up the momentum because I had to rely solely on receiving the right card at my next turn (even if i threw in a gadgetzan along with bloodmage thalnos, you're still lacking the synergy of other decks).
Also, relying on sylvanas, cairne and black knight is risky. Rogues generally take more damage than most classes, and don't have the benefit of armor or healing. Therefore, having to wait until late game to play bigger minions that have no immeadiate benefits just leaves you at a huge disadvantage. Running Leeroy would be far more effective than hoping to gain something significant from Sylvanas.
Sorry if my criticism of your deck offended you in anyway. I simply wanted to point out that this deck is flawed because you have one single card (coldlight oracle) that provides card draw. No shiv. No fan of knives. No Gadgetzan/Azure. Not even sprint. Yet, you've included a number of high cost mana cards, that don't get the same value that they do with the decks of priests, warriors, & shamans. If you can't get any early board presence, how exactly do you deal with early threats like undertaker, flame imp, etc? Do you hit them and eat the damage if they're able to start off aggressively? There are a lot of people running zoo, aggro hunter & priest on the ladder. I notice there's no card that provides healing. Also, how does this deck work against control? They have the benefit of healing and armor and they're heavily favored if you allow for the game to push into the later rounds. Cairne and Sylvanas are slow cards for rogues and many times you're health is an issue by turn 6.
i don't see how this deck could work so well on the ladder. A mulligan and deck guide could certainly provide some insight into my own faulty implementation.
Anyhow, I wish you the best of luck on the ladder.
I like the deck and I still have to test it out?
But I have a question already :Silver Hand Knight ?
I don't have Cairne Bloodhoof Sylvanas Windrunner or Loatheb or Unstable Ghoul Any cards to replace them that are decent for the deck play style?
i think that a sludge belcher could be better than silverhand knight thans to belcher's deathrattle and the fact that you actually only lose 1 stat for a double taunt, also the belcher is a 5 drop, so it does not affect the mana curve.
For better handling handlocks, Betrayal and Faceless Manipulator are probably the best cards you could use, if facing alot add in a 2nd Betrayal. Aside from that, Big Game Hunter and The Black Knight are both useful, but in making these changes your also opening yourself up to get punished by zoo and hunter. I would also probably take out Sinister Strike, only time I feel its useful is if you have Malygos
I'm liking the changes, so much community input, its nice to see. =)
Edit: Interesting, hadn't thought about it like that. (Sinister Strike)
You missed lethal against the druid in your video
I would definitely put a Faceless Manipulator in, would help against handlocks and ramp druids. Also, I've been playing around with Miracle and the Questing Adventurer. With how many low cost spells and cards you can play per turn, he can become pretty beefy. Even an Illidan Stormrage could be interesting, but that's getting more towards the Violet Teacher builds. Just a thought.
silver hand knight and betrayal, #NoOneExpectsBetrayal lmao i have to run this later
what rank are u playing it at?
Double Post >.>
Looks like a great deck, but I can't believe you don't have atleast one Auctioneer. Any reason for that?
I understand that, I'm always changing my decks, trying to stay away from the completely boring Meta-builds (zzzzZZZZ). I'm with you there, but with that many spells, its just too good to miss out on, sadly =(. Great play-style otherwise.
Assassinate for The Black Knight For Cairne you could pick another Defender of Argus or a Sunwalker
