Hey guys,
I'm a previous legend ranked player, maining shaman class.
This zoo-like aggro shaman was intended to get you lots of wins very quickly, since I'm currently farming the last 100 of the 500 wins for my golden shaman portait (which I finally got today, congratz to myself :P)
So my thought process was to create a deck, which dishes out lots of dmg/pressure early on, so I can either win by turn 5-8 or concede by turn 5 if I see this match is not winnable.
Either way, the matches go about 3-6 minutes. I intentionally did not care about my rank or win/lose ratio, just about the number of wins.
But it seems this deck is not bad after all and counters the other aggro decks pretty well and I got from 20 to 7 pretty fast.
It seems that the most popular decks nowdays are: Rush hunter, rush mage, zoo+hand warlock. This deck wins vs those.
On the other hand, this deck has a very poor matchup vs Priest and Warrior (usually concede after turn 5 unless you stomp em early)
Good combos:
Turn 1 Coin + Undertaker + Leper Gnome (+ any other deathrattle minion turn 2 :P)
Haunted Creeper + Knife Juggler
Arcane Golem + Rockbiter weapon + Windfury (14dmg for 6 mana)
Playstyle:
Mulligan very aggressive, only keep 1-2 drops, + I usually keep 1 removal spell.
Vs Control: dont trade much, go all in, you wont win the value trading game. You have to overrun them and win by turn 6-8.
Update 05.10: Put out Leper Gnomes and Arcane Golem for Zombie Chows and Bloodlust.
Leper Gnome is very weak vs Haunted Creepers (which are very popular (~50% of my games) and Bloodlust gives you an additional wincondition.
Possible Tweaks:
Bloodmage Thalnos - is basically another Loot Hoarder.
Sea Giant - since we have always a full board.
Shade of Naxx - a growing threat.
Arcane Golem - For the Charge - Rockbiter - Windfury burst.
2nd Lightning storm or 2nd lava burst.
Deathwing - nobody expects that. And she gives you another win condition if your opponent managed to win board control and you cant clear.
Deathlord - Buffs the undertaker, protects your vulnerable minions, most decks have problems removing them early. (But it can go south very fast if he pulls out Swagnaros or Doomguard :P)
Cult Master - for massive Card draw when you sack all your totems with flametongue in 1 big enemy minion.
Thanks for reading.
If you want any further details, strategies for specific matchups or sth else, let me know, I'll get on it asap.
You want to play a sirious control shaman deck which gets you legend? Check out my other shaman guide: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/102601-real-control-shaman-october-update
A really nice deck, didn't realize Knife Juggler would work with deathrattle summoned creatures. Have my upvote
Just made this deck to try it out... 6-0 so far
Interesting deck and I find Shaman fun to play, but how do you avoid running out of cards too soon? Two loot hoarders just doesn't seem to be enough extra card draw. For example, been playing aggro mage and even with 2 loot loarders, thanos, and 2 arcane intellects I'll usually be hurting for cards by turn 6 or 7. Many of the games I lose are attributable to being card starved. Obviously you made it work but I'm having difficultly seeing it.
well, you are right, this deck has no card draw.
but this is okay imo. this deck is all in. either you get board control till turn 5 and win till turn 8. or you loose anyways.
additional card draw will make you slower early, but stronger lategame. But you have so little winning chances if your opponent stabilises till turn 6-7 anyways. Thats why I go always all in. If your opponent has double board clear turn 5 and 6, , well, bad luck. I have no cards, no minions, I concede. What counts is that you manage to win the other games pre turn 8.
I surely can understand if this "all in" mentality, but this is how I initially constructed the deck and how it worked for me.
But hey, give it a shot, fit in mana tide and cult master and tell me how it worked out for you :)
I can second that: this deck must[sic!] win by turn 8, if not...concede...
two changes that could be nice to the deck reincarnate instead of windfurry. why? because most of the time you would use rockbitter for activate the eggs or remove an early treat like undertaker. and also it combos very well with nerubian egg in case you can not draw your charge minion.
as charge minion i prefer leeroy over arcane golem more burst damage, even if costlier normally your opponent is not burstable until turn 5-7
also i think it has too much spells when i begin trying aggro shaman most of my problems where that sometimes by turn 3 i only had drawn spells. in my case i reduced them to 8 (still a lot but yep it is shaman xd)
also one cult master can be crazy. it can help you to cicle the board to keep the agreesion..... that sweet brawl letting me only the cult master ....
I definitely doubt that reincarnate can be good in this deck. (but try it out and prove me worng :P)
Windfury can be good with every minion buffed with rockbiter and flametongue, it doesnt have to be charged. Even if it's only a totem + 2 from flametongue + 3 rockbiter + windfury = 10 dmg from the totem :P
concerning the spells: you are right, we have lots of spells. and it also happened to me that I had only spells on my start hand. But to be honest, it was very rarely, and you can mulligan them away, so you haveat least 2 cheap drops. th eonly spell you might remove is windfury.
Cult master: very good idea, totally did not think of that !
Sorry dude, this deck blows. -1 vote
Is that 1 win 8 losses vs warrior? I thought shaman crushes warriors
yes. I had no chance at all vs warrior with this deck. maybe I missplayed it? what are yuor expiriences?
109-100, omg +9 wins is a bad result. 209 games - 2,5 rang`s.
3 things:
1. the deck is supposed to be fast, not effective for I wanted to farm my golden icon, I wrote that in the beginning.
2. +9 wins is not only +2,5 ranks, since you can have winning sprees. therefore it was +13 ranks.
3. imo everything with a positiv w-l- ratio is not bad. 52% winratio is decent. what do you expect? 60%? no one has 60% winratio over 200 games.
true 52% isnt to bad but there are plenty people who have 60% win rate over 200 games. it just depends on the meta
this deck sucks
whats the software that you use?
the first thing that pops up google when you search for "deck tracker"

This deck is relying too much on lucky draws for you,and terrible draws for opponent!
not entirely true. you are not so much reliant on YOUR draws, since you have lots of cheap minions.
you are right about your opponent tho. If you play vs priest, you rely on them NOT drawing auchenai circle combo.
This deck is really good, but IMO zombie chow has the potential to ruin your aggro plan, giving back 10 health to your opponent. I have put the 2 Leper Gnomes back as I think that Haunted Creepers are not so numerous as you suggest in your post...the rest of it is great.
you are totally right about the drawback of the chows.
how many creepers you face surely depends on your rank and on the state of the meta.
As you can see in the statistic above, I faced Hunter, Shaman, Zoolock (which include the creepers) in ~100 of 200 games.
Vs those matchups, board control is more important than those -2 or +5 health.
