Hello guys, Adernain here. This time I've got to legend with N'Zoth control paladin. Last month I managed it before the nerfs with a more midrange deck.
It was a pretty long run, I was at 39-18 at rank 1 5 stars and lost legend from my grasp, then I had to grind much much more to achieve it.
Unfrotunately I am not able to write a full guide because I have exams coming up and I shouldn't even be here writing it, but I wanted to share it with you and show you my achievement. I will try to update it after they are over.
Take into note that [Aldor peacekeeper] was replaced by prighteous protector] for a more anti aggro start and a better more protective call to arms. I have replace 1 [spikeridged steed] with [elise the trailblaser] for extra value against control. [Harrison jones] was replaced with a 2nd [rallying blade].

I am missing both Uther and Elise but i have every other card in the deck. I have enough to craft one and I've always wanted to craft both of them. Which card is more important to the deck as that will be the one i will craft.
i dont have call to arms and dirty rats and ragnaros so i added 2 corpse taker 2 chillblade champion and a forbidden healing to the deck what do u think
Nice work, man. Im from controlpally squad too, never high ranks unfortunately, so want to ask what do you think -
1) Call to arms - i have lack of board control, especially vs midrandge decks. Can we use doomsayer instead of other 2drop (we can pull 1/1 2/6 and 0/7 to deal the board). Could it be better? I suffer tempo decks much, they have so much pressure i cant do with standard call vs them.
2) Early healing - tempo mages ignore taunts, and beetles again are not enough for me. Don't even know why i cant handle damage with common means
3) I saw Ysera in some other decks too. How important is it? Should I use it If I have Lynessa?
Doomsayers are not needed , also vs Control Warloc you dont wanna give them a free turn . They would just play their Lackey into it and GG...
Against Tempomages look for Hydrologist , try to get board asap. If you can play call 2 arms you usually have the board , from there on try to survive til Rag or Uther.
I just (5th March )got Legend with a silghtly faster version https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1045896-legend-march-midrange-control I tryed all of the Lategame Legendarys ,and actually they are not that important. You will find some have better matchups than others and vise versa.
Any suggestions for replacing Ragnaros, Lightlord, since I don't have it?
Ivory Knight or second Spikeridged Steed
It's the best healing card paladins currently have. It's guaranteed healing. And Damage. for the next 3 turns protecting whatever you play. If you don't have it I am not sure if you should craft it. It depends on how much you want to try a t3 and unfavored deck in the meta, if you want to play with paladin overall and how paladins perform after the rotation. If control stays a thing, Uther will be the main healing point again. You could maybe use though 2 Ivory knights, and swap 1 Rallying blade for 1 Truesilver.
Do you think there's any possible substitution for Tarim, or is that key to the deck? I know it's versatile and one of the best legendaries in the game, but I'm not all that interested in faster Paladin decks and I worry about the staying power of control with N'Zoth rotating out soon.
II always said that Tirion is the best legendary because he was being used to every paladin deck. Look now. Tarim is in every paladin deck. And when Tarim was first revealed everyone thought it was not good. With stuff like CtA, Righteous protector, and the hero power it's pretty good, and very important for anyone willing to play paladin. You can just wait for the upcoming expansion and see what happens, because we have around a month and a half with these kind of decks. There's no substitution unfortunately, he is great for swings against Voidlords, Spiteful decks, Big priest and jades.
Unfortunately I can't predict what happens after the rotation, but if you check my deck, it loses Dirty rats, Rallying blade, N'Zoth and Ragnaros. If it gets a couple more control tools it might be competitive, maybe not the same as cube and control warlock will be after the rotation though. If paladin stays competitive I believe Tarim will be there.
Thanks for playing a non meta deck to reach Legend! I wish more people did the same, and I play my own builds of decks as well. I really enjoy building something a little different than the norm
Hahah no problem. I am one of the few, faced some warriors here and there, and my last opponent to legend was a control mage with Pyroblast, Primordials, Medivs Velen etc. Yeh I don't like a lot playing the mainstream decks and I want to extend my gaming skill through tougher decks, and by being a tryhard. I will try now some different non meta paladin builds, and soon the expansion will be here. Thanks for commenting =)
Very cool and I will give this deck a try on the ladder soon. I don't play the Paladin that much, so I will have much to learn I'm sure haha
u could play with less value cards like Elise and add a 2nd Steed for example, maybe Aldors or a 2nd Spellbreaker if iy's your first time, since you will be needing more proactive actions. I hope you like it. It will be a little tough on start!
No idea why I can't link cards any more. Sorry for the formating.
You may just write cards' names like [.card]Card Name[/card] - this will automatically link them (just remove the dot in the first bracket).
PS. This deck is very interesting. Have you got maybe some replays/videos? I can't play it because of many legendaries that I am missing, but it must be really fun to play with...
Haven't linked cards for a lot of time and forgot how to, thanks! Yes I will link you some of my games if you want =)
Added some games to my post.
The only card that I'm missing is the Uther of the Ebon blade, the DK. Is he necessary for the deck? I have the dust to craft him, but is it really worth it?
I don't know how much dust you can spare and how much paladin you want to play. He is very important against all knds of decks. Against aggro mage you need his healing because it's the only source of direct healing you have, except ragnaros which can hit minions. It gives you survivability against other control decks like control warlock, and it gives you a better non pingableHP. I don't know how paladin will do after the rotation, but if any sort of control paladin makes it into the meta, Uther DK will be the main healing card, since we are losing Ragnaros, Forbidden healing and Ivory knight. Also if we get a chance for a midrange paladin, still Uther would be great addition. I find him necessary, but fora less competitive deck you could do without him. Maybe add double Ivory knight.
