Hey I'm LegendLegion and this is the second time I have hit Legend since I played. I realised that the card ZooLock needs most in the meta right now is Spellbreaker. With this deck containing 2 Spellbreaker I climbed to Legend from Rank 5 in 3 days with a 70+% win rate.

I experimented with other cards present in most Warlock decks right now such as Vulgar Homunculus and Hooked Reaver but climbing with cards such as Prince Keleseth and Spellbreaker are much better in the current meta. This deck also has 8 1-drops (excluding Patches the Pirate), so its performance is very reliable.

Upvotes are greatly appreciated, and thank you guys so much for the support! I said that I would write a guide at +10 upvotes so a guide is below if you need it!

Updated conclusion (11th January): So I managed to remain Legend Top 200 with this deck in Season 45 (December 2017). To be very honest this deck currently is not working as well as previously since double Spellbreaker is already in the meta and your opponent (especially CubeLocks) may well be expecting it. However I believe this deck is still one of the stronger Demon ZooLock decks currently.

Disclaimer: I did not record my statistics and I only have screenshots of my current rank which I achieved solely with this DemonLock deck. I am not claiming that I built this deck from scratch as this deck is based on and expanded from DemonLock decks in KoT.

The following guide is written based on my personal experience and may be very specific at parts. If you are new to this deck you can borrow some of my advice. After playing you will definitely have your own play style and do not have to follow such a guide.

1.CARDS :

Flame Imp+Malchezaar's Imp+Voidwalker: Pretty much the core cards of any ZooLock deck after KoT, your best friends during early game.

Kobold Librarian: 1 mana 2/1 minion that lets you Life Tap for free. Helps you increase board presence and draw at the same time.

Soulfire: Helps you kill enemy minions for as little mana as possible earlier on. Later it bypass taunts and reach for lethal.

Prince Keleseth: Still OP, buffs your whole deck. You won't always draw it in time but when you do it definitely boosts your chance of winning. This is preferred over other 2-drops such as Darkshire Librarian and Vulgar Homunculus because those cards are weaker compared to Keleseth.

Southsea Captain+Patches the Pirate: Excellent at fighting for board control. For 3 mana you get a 3/3 and a 2/2 charge. With Prince Keleseth you get a 3/3 charge. Also the new meta somehow sees a huge decrease in Golakka Crawler . Unless Patches ends up in your starting hand...

Bloodfury Potion: Buffs your demons out of range of board clears & increases damage per turn to opponents' face & helps trade efficiently.

Crystalweaver: You have 10 Demons in your deck so yeah. Also a 5/4 body grants you lots of early game damage and few cards can deal with this during early game.

Saronite Chain Gang: Protects your early minions from trade, stalls efficiently, very  good versus other midrange/aggro decks but weak against control matchups.

Spellbreaker: Now THIS is the MVP that does the job and makes ZooLock powerful in the current meta. I don't understand why many other aggro decks are not running this. With 2 silences in the deck you can obliterate Void Lord/Possessed LackeyEdwin VanCleef, Righteous Protector, minions with Blessing of Kings, any minion buffed by Bonemare etc etc.

Despicable Dreadlord: Powerful against other midrange/aggro decks as it helps make value trades. It is also a 4/5 Demon body revivable by Bloodreaver Gul'dan.

Doomguard: An all rounder that can efficiently trade or do high damage to face immediately. Only downside is that you might discard important cards but most of the time the instant 5 damage is crucial and can change the tide of the game.

Bonemare: OP as long as you have a minion on board, which is always the case for Zoo.

Corridor Creeper: Only runs 1 because if you draw it and have no trade going on, it is a dead card.

Bloodreaver Gul'dan: Often the game is decided before you play this, but if not you can revive all your demons and get a stronger hero power. Many times this card will end up in your hand early as dead draw, so it is ok if you discard it via Soulfire or Doomguard.

2.MULLIGANS:

General Mulligan (Always Keep): Flame ImpKobold Librarian,Prince Keleseth. Otherwise keep Malchezarr's Imp and Voidwalker (if have 0/1 of the 3 cards mentioned initially/ if you know from your matchup that you will be competing for early board control.)

  • DO NOT KEEP 3 or more 1-drops with 1 attack or your early game will be very slow.
  • Only keep Malchezaar's Imp+Soulfire combo if you know you will be fighting a aggro/midrange matchup.
  • Coin out Prince Keleseth if you have 2 or 0 1-drops in your starting hand. If you have only 1 1-drop along with Keleseth, play the curve instead of using the coin.

3.PLAYSTYLE:

ZooLock is definitely not hard to play but playing around your opponent with a well-developed board can be very tricky.Against control match-ups, always try to play 1 or 2 minions that is out of reach of opponent board clears while maintaining damage to their face. If that is not possible, ensure that you conserve your cards and are not exhausted after a wave of board clear. Against aggro/midrange decks, fight for board control while making value trades. Always anticipate Bonemare on turn 7 or turn 6 if opponent saved coin.

Warrior: I have not met any Warrior since the launch of K&C but you will be able to identify their deck within the first 2 turns. If he is playing Aggro-Pirate, conserve health, fight for board and hide behind taunts if possible. Otherwise, brace yourself for Sleep with the FishesBlood Razor and Brawl.

Shaman: Shaman is really weak after the update. You should meet either Evolve/Elemental decks. Against Evolve, kill their minions and control the board by turn 5 in case he transforms into Thrall, Deathseer or plays Evolve. Anticipate Flametongue Totem while trading and fighting for board control. Elemental Shaman is really slow so build a board and deal constant damage to face. Against both matchups anticipate Bloodmage Thalnos+Maelstrom Portal and Jade Claws.

Rogue: Not much changes before and after K&C. Most Rogues now have 2 Corridor Creeper which are the most threatening to us. Other threats are Shadowstep+Prince Keleseth or a godlike Edwin VanCleef in early game. Mulligan normally and do not keep Spellbreaker just for Edwin because fighting for board control is more important. Careful not to overexert on a single minion so as to play against Vilespine Slayer. In this matchup, spam > strong. I have also met Quest rogues and they were the easiest wins of my life. They stall early game to get the Crystal Core but it takes them a full turn to play it. Against them just be careful not to lose too much tempo from Vanish.

Paladin: 99% are rush Paladin with Call to Arms and Sunkeeper Tarim. Build a board, clear their minions and save your Spellbreakers for Righteous ProtectorBlessing of Kings, Spikeridged Steed or a buff from Bonemare.

Hunter: Either a spell/beast hunter. If he plays a secret early game, do not attack face unless you feel capable of dealing with Wandering Monster. Build a board and brace for Lesser Emerald Spellstone, or fight for board control against beast Hunters. Try to completely kill his Savannah Highmane in case he plays Bonemare, or save your Spellbreaker for it. Otherwise if clearing is not viable, go for face before he does the same.

Druid: Most probably Big Druid so keep 1 Bloodfury Potion if you already have a Demon in hand. DO NOT play your Saronite Chain Gang early unless they are buffed by Prince Keleseth and refrain from playing weak 1-drops during mid-late game so as to anticipate Spreading Plague. Against aggro, fight fiercely for board control for who has it wins. Play a Despicable Dreadlord to anticipate his Living Mana if possible.

Warlock: 90% are Demonlock with Possessed LackeyDoomguardSkull of the Man'ari and Voidlord. Mulligan normally and keep a Spellbreaker if you get it, do not hard mulligan for it as you will likely draw it later on. Play around Defile and Hellfire. His only big removals are Siphon Soul and Twisting Nether so your big minions won't die early. By mid game, he should have 10~20 HP left and you win if you have Spellbreaker to bypass his taunts. The game will drag if he clears your board but just wait for the opportunity to bypass his taunts and reach lethal.

Mage: Either Quest/Tempo Mage. Against Quest, build a board as soon as possible, but DO NOT coin out minions on turn 1 so as to anticipate Doomsayer. Only pile when you have the ability to deal 7 damage next turn. Watch out for Volcanic Potion and save your Spellbreaker for a mid-late game Doomsayer. Pop her Ice Block early and you win. Against Tempo, fight for board control and conserve your health. Anticipate Explosive Runes and Firelands Portal on turn 7 and even Pyroblast on turn 10. Your aim is to survive till turn 10 and upgrade your hero if you can't dominate the board.

Priest: Hardest matchup amongst all and it is a 50/50. It can either be a Revive/Raza/Dragon Priest. Keep Bloodfury Potion if possible. If he plays a Northshire Cleric/Radiant Elemental/Kabal Talonpriest, it is either a Dragon/Raza. These decks do not have Shadow Word: Horror but might have Duskbreaker and Spirit Lash. These decks all run Dragonfire Potion and Shadowreaper Anduin, and for Revive Priests even Psychic Scream.

Tip: Split your minions into at least 2 waves and ensure your hand is not exhausted after one wave of board clear. If you start with the coin, don't use it early. Save it for coining out Bonemare on turn 6. If you get to turn 7 first using Bonemare, the only way he can remove it is with Shadowreaper Anduin which comes at turn 8. Same applies if you don't have the coin but he used it early. Similarly, play Doomguard on turn 5 if you are expecting Dragonfire Potion next turn. All in all, learn to stay ahead of your opponent.

4.Budget Variation:

For those of you who do not have the gold for Karazhan/dust for the cards, these are the possible replacements you can make:

Bloodreaver Gul'dan : Corridor Creeper / The Lich King / Cobalt Scalebane

2 Southsea Captain + Patches the Pirate : 2 Vicious FledglingTar Creeper

2 Malchezaar's Imp : 2 Mortal Coil

Note that with these replacements, your deck will not be as strong as intended.
