This is one card i would like to craft :)
I can't wait for 2019 to kill this stupidly powerful Deathrattle meta once and for all.
Sorry guys, this is one of those cards that Blizzard is not going to nerf and if they do--it will be next year a couple weeks before the standard rotation. They constantly talk about limiting design space when they decide to nerf/change a card, but fail to ever balance Standard mode when it's obvious it's a problem. This card plus the "Trigger Deathrattle" effects running rampant in the game cause a giant issue regarding instantly forming boards that are unable to clear or play around. The "Trigger Deathrattle" or "Destroy a minion" effect is one that gets insane valuessince K&C. Now you have to worry about the actual cube and the value the Trigger created. And in cases where they just destroy the cube, you are probably losing. I don't believe a single card can effective clear a board like that. The only thing would be the craziest defile that goes the distance with 13/14 casts which we've seen in the Boom Labs to take a lot of minions on the board with all varying health.
This card was obviously an issue when it was released, and it is still issue today. Many have just gotten used to having to be careful knowing that a Cube + Trigger Deathrattle/Destroy Minion could be on it's way by turn 5 or 6. And it usually only costs 6 mana which is severely under-costed for the value you get.
This card is broken and I have no clue how it hasnt been nerfed yet, or at least the deathrattle triggers.
Can someone please explain why Sap triggered the deathrattle of a Carnivorous Cube that ate a Hadronox?
Opponents board was filled after it ate the spider. Layout was Cube on the left, LK, Zillax, Zillax, LK, LK, LK. My turn, I Sapped the Cube and it spit out a spider, board was filled so other spider didn't get summoned.
Perhaps he had a full hand. If a minion is returned to a full hand it is destroyed.
ı hate this car more than every other card
Best thing to do. I did it once
Free From Amber to Lich King to Carniverous Cube to Mirage Caller to Deathwing
:)
DELETE THIS CARD FROM THE GAME
What the actual fuck were they thinking while designing this card and HOW has it not been nerfed yet?
Eat 1, puke 1, Seems more fair
Seconded.
This would be fair as-is if Silence was common in the meta or if there weren't a lot of powerful Deathrattle minions around.
I hope whoever designed this card stubbed their toe
lmfaooo
this should be 7 mana.
if it only resummons whats the point lmao
Deathrattle effects.
To get another copy of it , that's it :) that's the point.
If the cost was 8 it would be 100% unplayable. If the cost is changed to 7 it will be almost unplayable except for the greediest players. In my opinion the cost should be 6, even if it's a small nerf it's still something and people probably would think two times before running two Cubes instead of one. Also some people say stats doesn't matter here but some reduction on the attack wouldn't hurt neither. So for me would be something like this:
Seems like a fair nerf for me if you don't want to kill the card totally.
It can destroy only friendly minions, it's very vulnerable to silence/transform effects, that's why this card is balanced. Do you really think hs team doesn't test these things before they add them? Then you are wrong. Players will never have good balance opinions because they are biased and most of the time they speak out of frustration.
Do you think aggro players like cubelock and cube? No, they hate them. Do you think decks that have a good chance against cubelock hate it (secret mage last season, odd hunter now, maybe taunt druid too)? Hell no. As I said, players are biased. As long as the dev team won't nerf a card it means that card is still not over performing.
As you can see on hsreplay, cubelock is a tier 2 deck (not even tier 1) with 55% winrate (very low for how much hate it receives) and Carnivorous Cube is played in 2 decks. If it would be OP it would be played in more decks.
