I disagree. While he may not be a great competitive legendary (but who knows, maybe making any game an actual 50/50 isn't that bad), this card will be a lot of "fun" for players just trying to have a good time and see ridiculous things happen, and I'm sure lots of streamers will keep viewers captivated for hours doing shenanigans with this card. We have to remember, there's definitely more to this game than competitive play, and ridiculous stories of insane things happening is something that keeps it fun.
I personally like to play hearthstone as a competitive game but I have a couple coworkers who love to come in in the morning and tell me all about their crazy hearthstone exploits from the night before. Win percentage is not near as important to them as the satisfying taste of doing something really sweet. I guarantee I'll here several stories about the time they played yogg and it triggers 20+ spells and was a good time.
Also, I'm still holding out saying that he may be good enough for competitive play. He makes any game winnable with a top deck and some coin flips.
I'm totally going to use this card in my spell heavy shaman deck. This with Hallazeal the Ascended will produce some good times.
Highly doubt it'll work like that.
As they stated, the spells will be counted as being casted by Yogg-Saron himself
Hallazeal states that only -your- spells count
I didn't see that clarification and that makes me quite sad. Even if they don't interact with each other they still promote the high spell usage synergy that will make having both useful.
Assuming you play this in a spell heavy deck, this could just go wrong when played.
He could kill you, kill himself, wipe your board, wipe the whole board (including himself)
give your opponent cards (e.g. naturalize)
discard your hand (e.g. dark bargain)
fatigue you (e.g. Sprint)
or just overall lose you the game (e.g. Astral Communion on 10 mana)
But he could also win the game, by just killing your opponent.
No matter what this guy will be amazing fun.
Imagine if it just gives you 10 more mana
What a shame, Yogg is my favorite old god. I hoped the card would be good but then we got this..
Why merely spectate when you yourself can orchestrate?
Yogg chooses randomly
yes
Here's a really cool video with the audio from the wow encounter.
Note: Yogg uses an vrykul avatar named Sara to conceal his presence, and in battle you have to reveal his true from.
Pyroblast own face 10 times.
#neverlucky
So Yogg can fireball himself that sucks!
Hearthstone signature card!
Yogg-Saron, God of Trolden
Stats are absolutely irrelevant. This will not be played for its stats.
Requesting entry music: Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive
That's because the deathrattle happened after the attack.
In the case of Yogg-Saron, the spells aren't really spells, as cards cast from the hand. They'll all happen within the battlecry, as one single action, so it is really likely that your opponent will resurrect. Of course it needs to be confirmed, but that wouldn't make sense for the game to check for a death in the middle of a single battlecry.
This Old God is basically saying to us "You think you control me?! You FOOL!"
