Wow.... Amazing control card. Imagine if it worked both ways. Heal for 14 and do 14 dmg!?!
Def a card that shaman can use
Very cool, but the main question is similar to that series of Youtube videos called "Will it blend?". Will it stick to the board long enough to make a (healing) difference? Its stats are good and I love any attempt to boost the control theme, especially in poor Shaman, but I am afraid that the good intentions will be simply laughed at by aggro decks. After all, remember that Healbot, Belcher, Zombie Chow and Loatheb are leaving Standard.
I will however be glad to see it as a boost to a Malygos shaman. If more cards are released to support it, it might become a very strong and perhaps dominating deck.
Welcome back to the game Control Shaman!?
So we just need to find a reverse Alexstraza/Jaraxxus now, that higher the maximum HP to 45.
Wow xD
Im dying... :D
This card will make Reno Shaman nearly unbeatable.
Exactly what I was thinking for my Battlecry reno shaman
This effect ia a permanent or only for this card on the table?
ALL ZA HEAL
Hmmm I wonder if healing wave heals you if you manage to get an Auchenai Soulpriest out on the board and you target an enemy character with it... It probably does..
That would make you take 7 or 14 damage as Hallazeals heal would also be inverted.
Ah true! forgot about that.
I-N-S-A-N-E!!!
For Mid-range and control type of decks, it's awesome to have a way to deal with minions, as well as gaining life in the same process.
He can be used as a soft taunt on turn 5 against aggro. It doesn't necessarily needs to be played when you can pull off a combo.
I think people are too quick to see opportunity rather than viability. a 5 mana 4/6 is nothing impressive, the ability is interesting, it DOES combo with Lightning Storm and Elemental Destruction for board clears plus big heals, but beyond that I don't think it's good enough, using a card slot for the sake of comboing it with two other cards just isn't worth it, the only Shaman decks that would run enough direct damage/burn to get good enough use out of this would be either Aggro Shaman (which is obviously dumb) or Malygos Shaman (Which isn't a thing). Granted, this card might be that last step necessary for MalyShaman to be a thing, but with Crackle being cycled out, I wouldn't hold my breath. Unless of course they give Shaman some new burn spell, which is easily possible.
One thing to take into consideration is that the 5-drops are getting a lot weaker with Standard, so stat-wise he isn't all that bad. At the same time, you can get the effect to trigger several times on your own turn, or your next one (although highly unlikely).
I think this card looks crazy. Savjz was already (mostly for funsies) running a Zeus-Malygos-control shaman deck, which this could certainly fit into quite nicely. Really, any Shaman deck could benefit from this card. Face shaman taking away the least from it obviously, but maybe a aggro-hybrid would love this card.
just overall a good card - thats what shaman needed for ages - more good class cards :)
I like!
As someone who plays quite a bit of Shaman, I like this card a lot. It's like a Mistress of Pain for spells, but better. Can be used with a simple Lightning Bolt, Lava Burst or Forked Lightning to deal damage and restore some health to you at the same time. Also works great with Lightning Storm and Elemental Destruction to kill minions and restore a sh*tload of health to your hero (also worth noting that this card survives Elemental Destruction). Most damage spells Shaman have Overload in them, but there is where Lava Shock comes into play, dealing 2 damage and restoring 2 health to your hero and most importantly, unlocking the Overload.
On top of that, a pretty decent statline for the cost, has that annoying 4 attack for Priests and it heals you which is always nice.
I do fear that this card will end up like the Mistcaller (where it's a card we all have really high hopes for but ends up not being that good), but if Shaman gets some more good cards in this expansion, I think there's the real likelihood that Shaman will blast up the rankings which I'm all for, and if I get this card, I definitely try it out and see if I can make it work.
