Bolvar is the only target which gains bonus attack, not the hero. (Source)
Obtaining Bolvar directly from a player's hand, through a spell like Mind Vision, results in the clone being 1/7 even if the originating Bolvar is buffed. (Source)
Card Text
Whenever a friendly minion dies while this is in your hand, gain +1 Attack.

Spoiler alert: Bolvar gets melted and then sits on an ice throne and everyone forgets about him.
I agree with you, however the enemy did use his silence, its more like compensation than value and I would only use it in a deck that has other more important/equally important targets to silence.
Could be good against priest ... wait 4 friendly minions to died and play it 4/7 for 5 ... kind of a worst Feugen that you can silence ... yeah A little disapointing for a class legendary but we'll see, depending on the other cards.
I don't see this card being the salvation of Paladin anytime soon. Too situational. You need to have it in your hand early enough and long enough for him to accrue value that meets or exceeds his cost.
Agreed on all points. Coupled with the fact that it need to be in your hand early enough to even have a shot at being a valuable play, and you have a very questionable pick on your hands. It's slow and doesn't so much as tickle the board when it lands, and you can't count on Bolvar being worth playing on turn 5. Hell, Feugen is more reliable than this. Same with Sludge Belcher, with its combined stats.
You can debate whether this card is playable or not the sad fact is its not nearly good enough to push paladins into competitive ranked play and In fact with the current cards released the gap seems to be getting worse for paladins compared to other classes.
Too early to lose hope. I'm glad he doesn't strike me as a must-have for Paladin. Lots of top decks tend to rely on a few Legendaries and high-value Epics, Rares, and Commons anyway.
Read the news, it has been confirmed that druid of the claw transformations will be relabeled beasts. Besides, it was just an example of how bad this card is.

I dont undersand how some people fail to see this is the worst class legendary in the game so far.

No one said anything about a 12/7. You'd be lucky if this card matched the value of a Boulderfist Ogre.
no-one would play ogre if you could easily reduce its attack to 1. oh wait, no-one plays ogre at all.

meh
Blizzard hates Paladins. Confirmed.
I'd totally play this guy turn 5 if it was a 4/7, great early body and not so juicy to silence that way. Similar to a turn 2 Van Cleef.

Awesome ability. I want to see more like this :-D
OH...MY...GENTLE...JESUS!!! THIS CARD IS AMAZING!!!
Oh common...Put your faith in the light!!! Belive in the Paladin!!!
It would be better to have voted in a Wisp
Both being dropped on turn 5, druid of the fang, which is a common, kills it and survives 99% of the time.
Out of curiosity, what amazing beasts are you putting in your Druid deck to make Druid of the Fang worthwhile? You've got Panther (the ONLY Druid beast), Ironbeak Owl (are you playing this with Keeper of the Grove or replacing it?), Haunted Creeper (pray it doesn't die cuz those Spectral Spiders don't count), or Angry Chicken (?)?
