In a landmark change of philosophy, Blizzard announced tonight that cards that make your Hero Immune will no longer prevent health loss from cards that cost health instead of mana. Read the full tweet, as well as some further answers below.
Quote from BlizzardIn 26.0, we are changing how hero-Immune works with cards that cost Health instead of Mana:
Your hero's Health will still be spent when playing a Health-cost card even if your hero has Immune (or Divine Shield). This also no longer counts as "taking damage" for other effects.
Does this mean lifetap will still deal damage with void virtuoso?
Quote from BlizzardLife Tap does not cost Health instead of Mana, its dealing damage to your hero through card text
Does that mean you could die while immune? Just want to make sure I understand? Ie if I played imp and did 3 to myself id take 3 and die even if I was immune.
Quote from Blizzardif youre talking about Flame Imp or Baritone Imp, those are unrelated. this is ONLY for cards who have a Health cost instead of a Mana Cost and you still wont be allowed to play a card you dont have enough Health for, like how you cant play a card you dont have enough Mana for
I assume this will be the same for Anubrekhan?
Quote from Blizzardyup, similar logic should be applied to Armor instead of Mana
Do these changes apply to Battlegrounds Game Mode?
Quote from BlizzardClarification: This change should not apply to BGs.
I just realized that DH isn't going to be able to OTK anymore in that stupid blood magic brawl.
This means Blood Crusader and Starlight Groove Combo failed before it even start
For being only relevant to Bloodbloom and Stealer of Souls, its weird that they didnt even name the cards in the post when its specifically meant to target them
Bonjour Seadevil Stinger, Cho'gall, Commander Ulthok, G'huun the Blood God, Deathbringer Saurfang, Anub'Rekhan, Blood Crusader
What?! This is stupid. When I pull my credit card and it gets declined, I just get the things for free, why should HS not always follow this logic? ;)
But seriously, isn't it just one card that should be changed for this to work in Bgs?
I guess I made the mistake of using irony on this site :p
will paying for cards with health still trigger Arson Accusation
No, because it no longer is considered taking damage
So Armor is now bypassed or was it like this anyway?
They should also have fatigue bypass immune to prevent jailer shenanigans
Nerfing cards for tavern brawl, that's new.
For real, this is how it should always be. It's surprising it took them so long to fix that problem, but at least they fixed it.
This dosn't fix The Demon Seed tho. Being Immune never was the problem with that card in Wild.
I honestly don't want that they nerf it more, cause Nerf a card until the oblivion is basically the same that just keep it Banned. I rather that the whole card get a nice redesign. But I think that we should heard about what is going to happen in wild after the rotation by now. They didn't talked about the balance change, the Banned cards, not even which cards are going to be reverted to their original forms an which ones not.
I was specting that they talk about that with the Core Set 2023, but looks like Wild players are going to have to wait as always.
I feel like this change was largely targeted towards stealer of souls, since I think the old version of immune actually meant you didn’t take damage and therefore did not progress the quest. If anything this change is technically a buff to the questline since you can progress with health loss, but there are very few scenarios where that is possible since damage is significantly more common.
undeniably the questline will need some kind of redesign, but people forget that rod was 3 mana during this time, and darkglare was 2. Flesh giant was also cheaper to boot. The deck was insane but basically every part of it including the questline have been nerfed significantly since it’s ban.
I don‘t know if they will do much this time. If I‘m wright they have wildmode on agenda for next expansion in summer. I‘m pretty excited what they will do.
Oh, this also means Demon Hunter with Blur is no longer playable in those Blood Magic tavern brawls.
say goodbye to those first turn kills.
Finally.
it Got so many dislike becouse That community doesnt like their Face shown
I think everyone can figure out that the reason for this is 2 fold
1)The Demon Seed and Stealer of Souls which are about to rotate to wild, thus will be unbanned. They'll probably revert stealer to its unnerfed state. I still think they'll change the quest to not reflect fatigue damage, Remember: Stealer got banned originally cause people were Mecha'thuning on turns 4-6.
2)Paladin is probably doing broken crap in standard with that new divine shield for hero card and that minion where your next card costs health instead of mana.
Stealer was banned because of its ability to enable Darkest Hour. They're definitely not reverting the cost nerf because that would allow Darkest Hour to be giga broken again.
