How can so many ppl claim that this card isnt dangerous.
History told ous, numerous times, that a Single low curve high roll, has the potential to lift a decks winrate by 5-10%
I am pretty sure it's the same case here. Should there be a viable aggro Deck with divine shield
Source
Sure, it will create some game-winning situations on turn 2, but it's far from broken. Playing this on turn 2 will be rather inconsistent as you will have to have both cards in your starting hand and the divine shield of your 1-drop will have to stay active.
It can still be strong later in the game, but certainly not broken. Everyone treating this as a vanilla 2 mana 5-5, which it isn't.
Ye, It's Just a Blood Knight - 1 mana -1-1 (the contrary, this card is worst than a Blood Knight since you can only activate it over the friendly divine shields...(so you can't even exploit those of your opponent) unfortunately those who comment on the paladin in chat clearly don't know the class or play it just at rank "banana"...( is clear from what they write on mediocre cards like this one)
Totally broken.
This one is so weird. I guess it also works with the legendary that puts divine shields on your hero.
Paladin looking very strong and interesting to play.
Standard is far away from interesting :D Same decks repeating over and over again... boring as hell
It is wild that is uninteresting to me. The more cards the less creativity you have. I find myself either playing a single "broken" deck or try out meme decks in wild. There is no real enjoyment for me in wild
two premium divine shield 1 drops will still be in standard come rotation so this is an easy fit.
Broken as hell.
I don't see how this card can have aggressive implications given the slowness of what it's receiving, paladin is getting awful cards with no specific direction no broken synergy and a horrible slow and boring mechanic, so this card is just decent in that class (until yesterday rouge summoned 11-11 with stealth on turn 4.... lol (throughout the meta paladin he's really bad in comparison to most other classes, he doesn't even get to play his nerfed Cariel that he already lost) so actually one would expect something broken for paladin since he's in really bad shape (but nothing, besides giving him horrible cards they don't even take old nerfs away from him to see him play higher than bronze, for example they could definitely remove the nerf in Cariel, card which has never been a problem and is only used to try to survive against the numerous otk ....)
PS obviously you don't have to rely on hs replay to evaluate a class (totally busted) because on hs replay the paladin after a few days of the release of the exp is always first in place, and this EVERY single meta, pay attention on this :D lol (clearly a joke since it's been years and years since the paladin gets close to tier 0) but on hs replay they magically put it first when in reality, it is currently in a decidedly bad state (the truth is that currently is certainly among of the most suffering classes... (just understand a minimum of this game to realize that the paladin is not even close to being tier 0) has very slow decks, no broken play and is under practically every otk... In a nutshell... If paladin is tier 0, warlock, druid, rouge, mage, dk and dh where are they? do they play in a separate meta? :D (hs replay is totally broken and since long way)
Back in Scholomance Academy, we had the Intrepid Initiate + Adorable Infestation combo that created 5/4 in stats (and a 1-cost 1/1 in the hand) for 2 mana and was a popular coin play on turn 1. Even though the Sanguine Soldier + Spotlight play looks broken, we've had a 2-card (3) mana combo that generated 6/5 in total before. All I'm saying is it's not the end of the world; We're just reliving an annoying tempo play.
although a 5/5 is wayy worse than a 4/3, we do have the option to use Incorporeal Corporal if this combo gets out of hand...
This seems absolutely busted. A turn 2 5/5, and the card even has tradeable!
I think this card will be brokenly OP when released, then nerfed to be useless. Remember: paladin currently has a lot of ways of getting 1/1s with divine shields.
What makes a spotlight holy?
Is it the ray that's holy or the lamp that projects it?
If the light bouncies off from an unholy object, would the refracted light still remain holy?
So many questions. So little answers.
This reminds me of those YouTube shorts of the guy driving his brother insane with questions that just make sense haha.
Seems like an early nerf candidate if there are any good divine shield minions. A divine shield is roughly worth 1/1 in terms of stats so you get around 4/4 value for 2 mana. And if you don't have any divine shields you can trade it away.
this card is even worse than a Blood Knight of the basic set, since you could break even the opponent's divine shields to buff them (so nerfing this spell would be ridiculous as mediocre as it is in 2023)
