A drop of sense in a sea of nonsense
Except you do, if you want this card back to your hand. You wont have mana to play the discovered spell this turn anyway.
But you have to use it as your last card for it to come back to hand, so you wont have any many left. AKA discover at the end of turn.
No, you don't have to use it as your last card and "only" need it to use up your remaining mana.
So in theory you could use mana reductions and play 0 cost cards after and technically you should also be able to coin or gain mana afterwards and play other stuff, depending on how finale is coded.
But yeah, that still doesn't change that you discover after spending the majority of your mana, so the discovered spell is unlikely played on the same turn.
Do we know if these get banned in Arena or not? Because this should be really
Shadow priest’s spell is in arena, which doesn’t require finale even.
Its cool but sadly bad.
i dont want to discover at the end of my turn, i need an answer for this turn.
Not only that, but mage has so many "discover a spell" cards, that powercreep that.
Even in a very very slow meta, this feels meh. but lets see the other cards.
It is a value card and yes it is bad against aggro because it is an overcosted discovery effect. But against a slow value-oriented deck? It is really good. It offers Infinite value, even if somewhat awkward to use.
I doubt that meta will be so slow that this will be competitively viable but not all legendaries need to be.
Card discovers when you play it
indeed it wont be too bad in standard for now due to a small Discover-pool. i will play it just for the tunes. It will be even more awful in wild (which is what i mainly play) where control is dead and the discover-pool is a graveyard of cards you dust.
If mage needs an answer that turn they can always play it without the finale.
Seems alright. Unfortunately, a discover at the end of your turn is so much worst that a discover at the beginning.
Its value
Word "Finale" - you need to discover at the end of turn or you won't get this spell back.
Sweet card, reminds me a lot of Sister Svalna. It's cheaper and doesn't require you to play a bad minion first, but the "Finale" is a big limitation for this particular card, since you can't use it to look for an answer to what your opponent has played (or rather you can if you really need to, you just won't get it back), and you can only use it once a turn.
One of the most fun and balanced ways they've ever added an "infinite value" card to the game imo.
all cards are so shit my god
This seems very good. I don't get the comparison with Svalna. With Svalna you need to first get to turn 6 before spending 3 mana to discover. You can use this one from the get go and basically when you have 2 mana left you will be using this instead of hero power.
It's not that good. 2 mana discover once a turn? Maybe in a control-style deck, which Mage probably won't have.
Garbage. Prismatic Elemental gives you 1 mana discount and 1/3 body. Primordial Glyph gives you 2 mana discount. Runed Orb deal 2 damage. Spellcoiler gives you 2/3 body. Infinite value? More like infinite waste of mana.
This is really strong. Priest has to play a 6 mana legendary and pay 1 more mana to do close to this.
Also, still waiting for all that big spell support people told me was coming.
