25.4.3 Patch Notes - Constructed, Battlegrounds & Duels Balance Changes
Blizzard just published Patch Notes 25.4.3 featuring Constructed, Battlegrounds & Duels balance changes, and a few bug fixes! Check out the details yourself!
Quote from BlizzardPatch 25.4.3 is a data-only patch launching March 2 with the following updates.
Hearthstone Card Updates
Dev Comment: Overall, this is a little bit of a lighter patch for Standard. We just had a big infusion of cards with the mini-set, so this patch is just looking to address two major outliers after that card infusion. We’re excited to see where the mini-set lands after these adjustments.
For Wild, we’ve been discussing potential updates to the mode. In this patch, we’re making changes to help curb some of the mode’s negative play experiences. We don’t view these changes as exhaustive, but we are working on some more long-term updates that we’re excited to share once they are more solidified.
Construct Quarter
- Old: [3 Mana]
- New: [4 Mana]
- Dev Comment: Frost Death Knight is the best deck in Standard after the mini-set and Construct Quarter is the stand-out card in that deck and in other Death Knight decks. This change is both an acknowledgment of the strongest deck in the format and the strongest card in that deck.
Goldshire Gnoll
- Old: [10 Mana]
- New: [11 Mana]
- Dev Comment: Before the rise of Frost Death Knight, Evolve Shaman was the biggest outlier in the format. This change is to keep Evolve Shaman in line after the adjustment to Construct Quarter. Goldshire Gnoll is an important enabler for the deck’s bad play patterns, and this makes those play patterns slower and less powerful, while still allowing Evolve Shaman to play with the exciting new cards they got in the mini-set.
Grey Sage Parrot
- Old: Battlecry: Repeat the last spell you’ve cast that costs (5) or more.
- New: Battlecry: Repeat the last spell you’ve cast that costs (6) or more.
Spectral Pillager
- Old: [6 Mana] Combo: Deal damage equal to the number of other cards you’ve played this turn.
- New: [5 Mana] Combo: Deal 2 damage to a minion for each other card you’ve played this turn.
Cataclysm
- Old: [4 Mana] Destroy all minions. Discard your hand.
- New: [5 Mana] Destroy all minions. Discard 2 cards.
The above cards will be eligible for a full dust refund for two weeks following Patch 25.4.3.

- [Collection] Removed reference to Diamond Zephrys the Great from Achievements. He will return—and be able to be earned—once he’s ready.
Wow they're still putting content out for duels. I can't imagine how big of a fail mercenaries had to be to be cancelled
cant Imagine the vote war on your comment xD +1
Ahahahahahaha I love seeing how bad this game’s stage is and how much they are struggling now with all those little developments :D. Remember the 2020 riot? That was the end of this pay to win game, now there is just little ashes left from that day. Those little greedy devs couldn’t just give more packs to players, now it is just a forgotten game that only guys like Kripp plays... This is what happens when you think you are so smart
I would definitely not agree that deck was "high-skill" by any means. But if that's an incidental deck nerf to remedy the absolute B.S. that was Discard Lock the last few weeks, I take it gladly. Anyways, Druid has been arguably more consistent at pulling off the Mecha'thun for quite awhile now (armor, break mana cap, Poison Seeds, etc.).
cataclysm is the reason why i wont ever play This gamę again.
they are Łazy asshole who dont give a Single.
cant wait Till every class has a Rune system couse That Option is better then having every 5thcard banned or changed completly. or Just give your Charge minion +1 attack
Bye.
If your trigger for leaving the game is a change to a degenerate, uninteractive and low-skill deck like Discard Warlock, then you are part of the problem in the Wild format and it'll be for the better.
What if it was about Blizzard killing high-skill Mecha'thun lock instead??
if you dont realize not a Single card will remain the same then clearly you are the degenerat.
mech cthun is Just dust nów, atleast one Got that
And you would be mistaken. Gnoll is still transforming in to 10 cost minions bruh. Not much of a nerf when you can backstep the evolution in to something better still.
Just takes an extra turn to beat the bots now
So we've already found the guy who doesn't understand the nerf. Think about it for a minute, evolve a 11-cost minion into something that costs 1 more. So 12-mana minion. Since there's no 12-cost minion in standard right now, it would evolve into something that costs near that mana, that being a 11-cost minion, which is...?
Currently Blazing Transmutation is bugged (again) and can still transform Gnolls into 10 mana minions. Muck Pools and other evolve effects work as intended though and only evolve into another Gnoll.
1. That is a confirmed bug, which means no, this is not supposed to happen.
2. That is not how Evolve works. In the case there are no minions of a higher cost to transform into, it instead transforms the minion into one of the same cost. And transforming into itself is possible, therefore meaning the expected result of using Blazing Transmutation on a Goldshire Gnoll should be another Goldshire Gnoll.
Amazing, Blizzard. How could you mess that up? Did you hardcode the 10 mana cost limit for it?
years ago if theres no higher cost minion to transform into, it doesnt transform. hope they keep it that way
Let's make duels boar only. Brann is back on top, like shockspitter before....
Construct Quarter nerf from 3 mana to 4 is almost not noticable, its still OP AF. Make it either 2 charges, or 4/2 instead of 4/5, or make it transform instead of destroy or dont give them rush.
so heres my hot take
location for death knights is still OP 1 extra mana changes nothing in my opinion
grey sage parrot all i can say is HALLEA F%#^ING LUUAH mage can no longer spam time warp except through vargoth wich is a gimp gimmick and rommath wich will include a whole slew of random BS itll be more consistant to beat time warp mage now
the gnoll nerf is good enough to keep it in line until rotation in my opinion
cataclysm is absolutely gutted and warlock mecha-thun with it but thank god no longer will you get hit in the face for 8 damage from fist of jaraxxus 25 from soul barrage
spectral theif is absolutely gutted now while it was damn near impossible to beat it was also pretty hard to pull off imo
closing thoughts these are healthy wild nerfs for damn sure alot of them were long overdue
Now if they would just take a hard look at half the BG heroes and make them competitive compared to the top 25.
