Literal scum
Disgusting, i will never spend another dime in blizzard games.
bet you will
No, i'm not... i was thinking about buying D4, but i will torrent that sh1t.
Greedy f*cker$$.
Dude, in Brazil the game is now unplayable, unless, of course, you are rich. The season quest was like 40, now is 90, rofl. 1500 runestones was like 28, now 68! Like... alright, i admite, im not rich, gonna have to play another game.
I will bet large amounts of money you will still play and spend money on Hearthstone.
I'm usually chill about pricing cause Blizz and any other company just charge what they feel they can get away with and what brings them most profit.
But what gets me is that at some point recently (since last Mini Set) they changed it so you can no longer buy the normal mini set online or in the B.net shop. You can only buy the Golden set.
Only choice you have for the normal set is to buy it in game with runes or gold. As someone who regularly gets gifts on Battle.net and gives gifts on battle.net this is a total scam and bullshit change. I'm now supposed to gift someone the cool gift of....runestones? So they can buy their own mini set in game? What an absolute joke.
In protest I refuse to buy any further mini sets for real money until they revert this change, cause this is just baiting ignorant people into spending on gold set and gifting gold sets instead of the normal sets.
Cause it's just the mini sets now, but soon enough it will be packs too and then preorders too and it turns the shop into a complete noobtrap (which they have technically already doen with this change, but could decide to do more).
There's a lot of people screaming bloody murder over the tiniest changes Blizz makes to the business side, and much of it is unfounded, but THIS is an actual bullshit change that is worth such outrage.
i'm with you on the miniset changes. you absolutely should be able to buy the miniset with money. runestones are inevitable because of lootbox rule changes in certain countries. packs and preorders will be available only through runestones at some point. look at EA games like fifa or madden. it's just a legal technicality.
i think people should just stop playing this game. life is good on the other side.
So...which corporate shmuck had this bright idea?
It just right about time to increase pricing in Ukraine, a country that suffers from the hardest of times, especially in terms of economy.
Well done, Blizzard!
Did you know that hearthstone packs make up the majority of the Ukrainian economy?
hhhhhhhhh so we are rish and usa ppl poor lovely blizzard - player
Don't Chinese players pay half of the price of the average? (Unless it's different now) To me it just makes sense to bump up their prices and create a fair playing field for all players instead of favouring a single country. And if general prices are rising BC of russian actions, why the hell are blizzard punishing Ukraine? Getting some Hong Kong vibes here... Also with Taiwan on the list too...
I cant be the only one who's already stopped buying packs since the original 30% price rises, only explanation I can really come to here is Blizzard just wants the game to die...
the even playing field should be cheaper packs and mini-sets for everyone and not skyrocket it for the poorest countries, like...turkey sure was asking for the high prices, after the deaths of thousands they must have some extra money from all the corpses
Your option is definitely the better one and the one I and everyone else would prefer. But unfortunately I'm far too much of a pessimist to ever even consider it an option. Especially with a company like Blizzard.
But if blizzard really NEEDS to make more money in these challenging times because they are a small struggling independent company, then raising prices of countries that already have a really cheap gaming economy just makes a little more logical sense to me.
i could see blizzard lowering the prices if it was the vanilla blizzard and not this corrupt homunculus we call blizzard right now
Chinese players currently pay nothing because the game is no longer available to them.
Nope, the price increases because a lot of people used the regional price policy to buy the games cheaper than intended. The latest news from Thunder Lotus Games (Spiritfarer developer) says that about 85% of people that bought Spiritfarer in Turkey and Argentina launched the game from other regions, the exact quote is:
"What I can say is that we saw a huge increase in sales in your countries last year, but no increase in the number of players. Something like 85% of sales coming "from Argentina and Turkey" seem to be coming from people playing in other countries - people who are chasing the lowest possible price on Steam. This is apparently a widespread problem on Steam, which is why Steam is recommending an especially large increase in your regional prices."
Ukraine is also known to have lower than average prices. So, I guess, you understand the reason. Nevertheless, they really could show some solidarity and not to raise the prices there.
And a lot of Russians, on the contrary, are trying to buy games and software in a more or less legit way, despite them being banned from Visa and Master Card and in the meantime being able just to pirate them, as software piracy is not really punished in Russia, especially now. And yes, I know what I'm talking about, since I'm Russian myself.
I hope now you understand who to blame for the regional price increase.
P.S. Not really complaining about anything, just wanted to make things a bit more clear.
P.P.S. My condolences to all Ukrainians, everything going on right now is just terrible and devastating for both of our countries and for our people, I hope that the war ends as soon as possible.
Yeah, I'm sure Ukrainian people are way too wealthy, probably should increase the prices.
