This, candleshot, and pairing with the scaling nuke minion, could very well enable a control Hunter deck, for the first in a very long time.
The real problem is this is another "reborn" themed expansion, and and to reborn minions this effect is pointless.
I really don’t think is worth a spot in your deck. We are past the days of Hunter’s Mark I think
I see this as a tech card against decks like Token Druid and Naga Priest. If they can't remove this then you just win against minion-based decks.
How in the world would this be good against token decks?! You can do one attack per turn IF you have a weapon equipped and all this does is set the minion's health to 1. That means it's only good against targets that have more health than the attack of your weapon. Those minions tend to have high attack, so you'd want to use Candleshot. But odds are you won't get much use out of this, given that a 3/4 is unlikely to survive at that point in the game.
In current standard, it's more like: 3/4, kill a creature if you have candleshot down. Pretty good if you have it, and absolutely terrible if you don't. Definitely doesn't make the cut in current hunter decks, but maybe it'll get more support support.
Would have been great in DH :(
You hero attacking minions archetype has never worked. See Hack the System.
Eh, that's probably not a good example. The "reward" is summon a 4/3 for 2 mana. That's just not good.
Attacking minions isn't a great strategy because it's essentially the minions attacking your face for free.
It can be partially used though with the right support as it was in DH with Dreadprison Glaive.
This is more for tempo and tech I guess.
Candleshot makes this really strong and worth including, but the question is does hunter snowball early game need anything more than it already has with k9 and its sticky 1 drop options
apply hunter’s mark in the minion you attack, sounds good
These reveals seem to be pushing weapon synergies for hunter, but I'm not convinced so far. I love control tools for hunter, but I'm not loving this.
"Your weapon has Poisonous" with extra steps
Plot twist: it was deathrattle minion all along
Plot twist²: with Reborn
