This card is very flexible and will be good in Quest priest.
It's decent boon for a miracle priest, but this card alone wouldn't be enough to make it viable for competetive play. Otherwise it's way too slow and unfit for every other priest deck, *including* shadow one that feeds on lower cost minions. In a meta when even such a broken card like Sylvanas, The Accursed isn't seeing much of a play this one wouldn't see much of it even more so. Pretty good for Arena tho
this card is trash, value without tempo (mana cheat) is useless today, the main problem with priest is that priest cards are already too expensive and they dont give enough tempo back, this would be bad for 2 mana, even for 1 mana, as a preist you dont want to pay mana for card advantage, it does not help against aggro, tempo, combo, OTK, it is only good in mirror and against control (that dont really exist) a card that this situational is trash
If only there was some Priest deck that didn't care about tempo and was just trying to stall until it could play a card that automatically won the game....
now thats a legendary! creative, unique, and feels like a legendary and an awesome art, cherry on top!

So if the cost of this spell is reduced actively (like with Thaurrisan), would the cost get reset back to full cost after playing? If it truly never leaves the hand, I see no reason why permanent cost reduction isn't a valid interpretation of the text. Anyone disagree?
I'm thinking about this with Radiant Elemental and it seems like complete aids.
One of the other revealed priest cards is Animate Dead. 1 mana shadow spell that resurrects a minion that costs three or less. If you've had a radiant die already, you can go radiant + animate + animate and now your vision of darkness costs 0. So you can grab a ton of removal spells that also don't cost anything, as well as more animates so you can summon three more radiants next turn and run it back. Infinite removal and lifesteal spells, plus you eventually get enough Void Shards to just kill the opponent. I can't think of anything that beats this besides a straight otk. And you can tutor the radiants and Svalna with Switcheroo.
The only wrinkle I can see is if your opponent doesn't have minions to remove a good portion of the shadow spells are dead in your hand and hand space might screw you or at least slow you down. Also Theo stealing visions, but you can build a nest egg of Identity Theft's as you discover and maybe steal it back.

Would you not? You get infinite discovers and there's not that many shadow spells. I wouldn't expect to kill on the first turn you're infinite but within the first three or so, probably.
You'd be already dead before you could do anything powerful with this card.
Unlike most other players i would actually love a meta where cards like this would have a chance to shine and find a place in a viable deck but those days are gone.
You won't face any matchup that is slow enough to allow you to make this work.
Not to mention that this game plan is extremely susceptible to various disruption tools.
I totally agree with you. But i'd add one card in your "painting": Psyfiend. So whenever u play a shadow spell, each hero takes 2 damage. You only have to pay attention to your HP.

That's just way too slow for current Hearthstone. It's only good in pure attrition matchups.
Unless you can somehow reduce the cost of this and the cost reduction remains, which I don't think is entirely out of question.
I wonder if its only Priest shadow spells or just shadow spells in general because if so shaman reveals just showed 2 shadow spells that aren't great for copying/discovering.
Should be only Priest spells as Discover only picks from your class (and neutral) cards unless specified otherwise.

So you can get an unlimited number of spells, eventually.
This has to be good for control. Has to be.
for 1 mana? yes, for 2 mana? well you can try to get AoE or hard removal every turn. For 3 mana? Now you need to put a card that reduce the cost, also you need to run it in a deck that wont suffer for playing 6 mana do nothing, with all this in mind, you also need to balance your slots to put 2 winconditions in the deck because denathrius wont allow a full control deck to sucess, neither mage or hunter in general will allow that to happen. So yeah...for 3 mana this card will se play probably on one deck at best. That deck will auto lose to any long game killer unless we get a new broken shadow spell to sustain ourself to infinite in the mini expansion.
