New Signature Cards - What Are They and How Do I Get Them?
Signature cards, a new collectible card type, are coming to Hearthstone! How do you obtain them, what are the drop rates compared to Golden Legendaries and other questions are answered below!
What is a Signature Card?
Signature is a new cosmetic quality that cards can have (like Golden or Diamond), with stylized full-art images.
**Note, the Lor'themar card shows Runes, like a Death Knight card. The card is not a Death Knight card however and this must have been an oversight with mocking up the cards for the stream they were shown on.
Is this how Signature Cards will always look?
Every expansion is going to have its own look and feel to the Signature cards. For the first iteration in March of the Lich King Blizzard chose an icy sepia style, evoking the Lich King’s powers over Frost and the Undead.
The art style of Signature cards within each expansion will match their respective expansion’s style and the card frame for future Signature cards might also change from time to time. That means Signature cards from future sets will look different from these ones, to evoke different tones and styles.
How do I get Signature Cards?
Signature Cards can’t be crafted or disenchanted; they can only be opened in packs or earned through special means. They can be opened in Standard Packs, Class Packs, March of the Lich King Packs, and new March of the Lich King Signature Golden Packs.
How many Signature Cards are there?
There are a total of 18 Signature cards coming with the launch of March of the Lich King, including 15 Legendary cards. Two of the Legendary cards will be available on the Tavern Pass, and the three non-Legendary cards will be earnable for free as part of an event with the expansion launch. The 13 remaining Signature Legendaries come from packs or bundles.
So what are the Drop Rates on Signature Cards?
In normal packs, the drop rate of a Signature Card is the same as that of a Golden Legendary, meaning you have a 1 in 181 packs chance, on average. For the new Golden Signature packs (that replace the normal Golden Packs moving forward), the chances of getting a Signature Card are much higher, 1 in 7 packs, on average. These do not replace other drops. They are purely bonus (Apart from replacing a normal common in the pack).

Is there Duplicate Protection on Signature Cards?
With many players wanting Signature Card versions of cards they already own, Blizzard has made the duplicate protection for Signature Cards work in reverse! A Signature Card version can drop of a card you already own, but when it does you’ll get a popup that asks if you’d like to reroll your existing normal/golden copy for free. Say yes, and it rerolls to a different card of the same set, rarity, and quality, while respecting duplicate protection!
Wait, Re-Roll? Can I get that on other cards too?
Yep! This reroll offer happens any time that you are awarded a non-disenchantable version of a card that you already have a disenchantable version of. Reward Tracks, Achievements, Signatures in Packs, Bundles, etc.

What happens if I already own all Signature Cards?
Once you own all Signature Legendary Cards in a card expansion set, you will start receiving Golden Legendary cards in place of Signature Legendary cards!
This means that once you own all Signature Cards, the drop rate for Golden Legendaries goes up. It will be 2x the rate in normal packs and 4x the rate in Signature Golden Packs (90.5 packs on average in Normal Packs and 5 packs on average in Signature Packs).
Do Signature Cards Count towards getting the Golden Coin?
Yes, Signature Cards do count toward Golden Coins, just like Diamonds Cards do.

Why are you such a trash company. These designs look hideous. I'm going to be so mad if I have to play with one of these disgusting cards. Let us disenchant them or replace them with a golden copy or else I'm quiting this trash game.
Next Expansion:
Get Premium Cards, like Gold Cards but they execute a Special Animation once they Attack/Trigger an Effect
After that:
Get Shiny Rainbow Colored Cards, like Diamond Cards they move from time to time but they are much more exclusive!
Last one:
Get into Debt, after buying all these shiny and exclusive Cards, Blizzard finally managed to milk you dry. Your Wife left you now, together with the Kids, but in the end it was all worth it, for now you own an entire Shiny (Virtual) Card Collection that you cant even sell. XD
"WOooooooaaaahhhhhhhh yeeeee haaaaaiiiii..... Signatureeeee Carddddd!!!" Innkeeper before exploding.
What a downgrade from Diamond. At least those were eye candy.
They are ugly AF tbh
Um, what is the point of having exclusive premium full art cards and then (a) removing all the color and (b) stamping a name banner right across the middle of the art?
I'd just about got over the initial garish horror of diamond cards and I've started to appreciate them now, but these I don't see myself ever feeling good about.
Problem with this, where Blizzard continuously releases new purchasable stuff, is that they only have individual value. Any other collectable physical cards or collections you have value on, you can trade. This whole point with selling stuff for your own collection, is just not worth it for the collector unless you can trade it for value also. Don't buy this shit.... make them realize more how this system sucks how it is
The value from the mega bundle isn't as good as people make it out to be, then this new pack is also nothing amazing with the addition of signature cards the mega bundle is worse than the smaller variant.
You're going to get 2 smaller bundles after launch, for 20 and I think 40 dollars/euro etc in which you also get 2 legendries for buying it. So why spend more money on a mega bundle which is 80 when you can get the one for 50 + the 20 and get 4 guaranteed legendries without opening packs for 70 dollars/euro. You're getting less for more.
People are either stubborn on being F2P which is all good or are just not reviewing how bad these 'mega bundle deals' really are.
Unless you value the cosmetics at a high price which I don't, they don't add gameplay value to me and are worth nothing in that framework. HS revenue has been shrinking and this isn't going to get better if they don't fix it. Offer better deals, make the game more affordable for general players.
You're much better off at retaining players with a more spread out spending habit rather than banking on whales. People would end up being more invested in the game because of it and whales would still be whales. I can afford to spend as much as I'd like on the game, but I wont because these sales practices have been in game for a long time and the game just isn't in good overall state.
The client is janky, the card designs over the last few years have been stale with little to no support for deck building. Duels are great for deck building but underplayed by the player base it seems. If the game had a much more healthy dispersion of spending across the player base I'd be more inclined to get a 'legendary skin' I've no idea how many people that have too much money would actually buy that.
How much will it cost? 20? 30? considering generic skins cost ~10 euro/dollars and they're really nothing to write home about.
I doesn't seem that this issue is amplified by the community enough, blizzard needs to sort out the HS department (from sales to development etc) rather than trying to bleed its current profit margin dry while it lasts.
I wish Hearthstone Mathematics would cover something like this in a video so more people become aware of it.
Blizzard is certainly a company that likes to have a shop full of stuff that they don't really want to sell.
To be fair thou, the new mega bundle has the Arthas bundle in it too, which I think is like 20€ or so. That at least makes it a better "ranked only" deal than before.
@Maksimus: I don't see the Path of Arthas in your calculations anywhere. That's another 20 bucks you'd have to spend post-launch if you want to reach parity between the smaller bundle and the mega-bundle.
Just another thing to charge you for.
How, exactly? Don't get me wrong -- I hate them and think they're ugly, but I don't see anything that says Blizzard is charging you for them. You don't purchase them directly (except as a bonus in bundles), and they take the place of a common when they appear in packs, so who really cares? I don't think anyone is buying bundles just to get their hands on these awful things.
This can't be the final version? Put the name at the top or bottom of the card to show the full art, and remove the blue filter. I have no interest in trying to get them in their current state. If I do happen to get one I'll be stuck with a non-disenchantable card. Only thing I got going is that they are somewhat rare I hope I never open one.
It's the only one possible point, honestly. You wanna buy it - buy it, you wanna be F2P - don't buy it,. It's just that simple.
Losing more and more interest in the game here
If they were colored then yeah , i dont like how they look now .
and yet there will be people with all signature cards per set... there are people who whipe their behinds with $100.- bills... i wish i was one of them :(
imagine your hand with some regular hearhstone cards and 1 of these. signature cards look so out of place. the full art isnt even colored so they look like cards in crafting screen
Looks very bad. Is it any chance to receive good-old golden legendaries and normal golden packs in Mega bundle instead of these one?
They look terrible and are taking the place of golden cards in the mega bundle... its like whoever is working on HS is trying to make the game worse with each decision
