Confirmed September 15, 2018: The promotion still works. I also figured out a final trick on how to get BOTH the "Android Tablet" AND "Android Phone" packs! (something nobody here has solved before!) So that means you get 3 packs for the Galaxy promotion, and 2 packs for the two Android Phone/Tablet devices! Total of 5 packs and a cardback! My guide below will say how to do the Tablet pack!

This guide works for both Mac and Windows users! But a WARNING FOR MAC USERS: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH "NOX PLAYER" OR *ANY* OTHER ANDROID EMULATORS. The NOX player CANNOT change device/model info on Mac (I spent 4 hours deep in the system files and there's no way to do it on Nox). The ONLY EMULATOR THAT LETS YOU TWEAK THE DEVICE DETAILS IS GENYMOTION!

Step 1: Download Genymotion Personal Edition: The free version of their emulator. You need an account to be allowed to download but it's easy to create one.

Step 2: Install and create a "Samsung Galaxy S5 - 4.4.4 - API 19 1080x1920" device as the official guide above says. Some of you may react that "the Hearthstone promotion is only for S6 devices", but we'll FAKE our device details to look like an S6 in a moment, so trust me, just pick S5 as the guide says!

Step 2 Sidenote: If you get some issues later such as "Hearthstone" complaining that your device is not supported (as some people have mentioned), just beware: You need to choose "2 CPUs" inside the device config in Genymotion. I first set it to 1 CPU and it was not enough to allow Hearthstone to launch. You should also try to set the RAM to 2048 MB, which is what I used (I hear lower amounts don't work).

Step 2 Other Sidenote: You SHOULD go into the device settings ("settings icon" next to the device name in genymotion) and set the device screen to "Predefined: 1024x600 - 160dpi". This will massively boost the game performance. Trust me, you DON'T want to click around in Hearthstone GUI with "5 fps lag-hell". So just do yourself a favor and lower the device resolution here before you go on with the rest of the guide, to make the game smooth!

Step 3: Start the device, and go into android's Settings, then under Security, enable "Unknown Sources". This will let you install apps from the web.

Step 4: Open Browser and search for "Amazon Appstore". You will find their site, so just click around on it until you see Amazon's "Download" button. Click it and do the download. Then press the "Home" button in the Genymotion toolbar to go back to the Android home screen.

Step 5: Open the "Downloads" application, and click on the downloaded .apk file, and install the Amazon Appstore.

Step 6: Open Amazon Appstore, and create/login to your Amazon account.

Step 6 Sidenote: You can create a fake email when signing up if you don't care about Amazon's store. But if you ever want to buy Amazon Coins to use to get Hearthstone packs cheaply (google it; it's a famous technique) then you should setup a real account. And yes, for people in Europe: You CAN buy Amazon Coins and then spend them on European hearthstone packs. Google it...

Step 7: Search for Hearthstone in the Amazon Appstore, and download it. But DON'T click "Open/Launch" when the installation is complete! (It's no problem if you open it, but it's a waste of time... We will open it later, after everything else is done...)

Step 8: Go to your Android apps and open up File Manager. Click the menu button of your emulator (or press ctrl+m) to open the menu. Hit the Settings button at the bottom left. Click on “General Settings”. Look for “Access Mode” and set this to “Root Access mode”. Select “Remember choice forever” and then click “Allow”.

Step 9: Once again open the File Manager's menu, this time click on “System folder” to navigate to it. Inside of this look for a file named “build.prop” which should be at the bottom. Click on this and open it with “Editor”.

Step 10: Add these two lines at the bottom: "ro.product.brand=samsung" and "ro.product.model=SM-G920F" (do not include any " quotes on the lines). That's the model number of the Galaxy S5 phone.

Step 11: Also look for two existing lines: 1) "ro.product.model.geny-def" and set it to "ro.product.model.geny-def=SM-G920F", 2) "ro.product.brand.geny-def" and set it to "ro.product.brand.geny-def=samsung".

Step 12: Save the file, then Restart the device, by closing it with the X (Windows) or Red circle (Mac). Then start Hearthstone. On its first launch it will do a 1.3 GB (currently) download, so wait for that... Then login. Note that the region switching button (Europe, America, etc) at the login screen is bugged in the emulator. You will have to mouse around BELOW the button until you see the region-button get a golden glow. Then click, and you'll get the region switch screen. Also note that the login screen is VERY laggy for me (at least), but just be patient and slowly type in your login details.

Step 13 (3 classic packs + card back): On the first login, you will be INSTANTLY rewarded with the 3 "Samsung Galaxy" classic packs, and the card back, as soon as you login to the main menu! (If this doesn't happen, you need to check all steps above carefully, and maybe restart the device again.)

Step 14 (1 extra classic pack): Click on Play mode, then Casual, then start a game. And immediately concede when it begins. You will then be given the "Android Phone" reward (if you haven't done it before): 1 classic card pack.

Step 15: Close hearthstone and go back into editing the "build.prop" file again. Go to the absolute bottom, and add a new line with this text: "ro.build.characteristics=tablet". Then save the file and restart the device so that the change takes effect.

Step 15 Sidenote for curious people: You don't have to edit the device model. It doesn't matter that we're still using "SM-G920F" (Galaxy S5 Phone). The only thing that matters is that we're now setting the characteristics to "tablet" to force the Android OS to run in "tablet mode", which will make Hearthstone think you are using an Android Tablet. So don't worry about the device info.

Step 16 (1 extra classic pack): Start Hearthstone again. Go to Play mode, Casual, start the game. Then concede. Now you will be given the "Android Tablet" reward (if you haven't done it before): 1 classic card pack.

Step 17: Enjoy your 5 classic packs + card back. And if you want to buy packs with Amazon Coins (google the trick), you can now keep using THIS emulator for that purpose. Because you've installed Hearthstone via the Amazon store, so you CAN redeem your Amazon Coins in THIS version of the game! (You don't have to OPEN the packs here though. Just buy them, then open them on your real device).

Lastly: There is no emulator to fake an iOS device, so you cannot do the "iPhone" and "iPad" awards (2 more classic packs) via any emulators. But friends with Apple devices could perhaps help you by letting you login via their devices, if you want the final two "Apple device"-specific packs! (Just remember to LOGOUT from their devices again via the "Switch Account" menu option, so that your login details are forgotten from their device afterwards.)

 

YEAHH!! 4 packs and 1 backcard.

Piece of advice for Mac users as of May 2018:

1) Follow carefully this tutorial here. 

2) Follow also  #369mave8rick_cz lines edit posted up here.

So you'll have 4 edits to do in build.prop:

Adding

--> ro.product.brand=samsung

--> ro.product.model=SM-G920F

and

Editing

--> ro.product.model.geny-def=SM-G920F

--> ro.product.brand.geny-def=samsung

In case anyone cares, had to enable virtualization in my BIOs under CPU settings, then change the amount of CPU cores for my virtual device in genymotion to 2, it launched.

 

 I don't suppose anyone can tell me if this is still suppose to work? I got as far as searching for Amazon Appstore. This is what I get:  Webpage not available. The webpage at http://www.google.com/m?hl=en&source=android-launcher-search&q=Amazon playstore apps could not be loaded because: net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED.    What can I do to get around this, if possible. Thanks to anyone who knows what I should do. Oh and how do I make sure I pick US, so my card back is awarded to my current battlenet account? Thanks.

I have core i7, and hearthstone didn't launch.

So I entered the settings of VM machine, and changed processors to 2, and base memory to 3000 mb.

And it worked.

Did that and still saying the same error message in the virtual device.

It keeps trying to download some Amazon Underground, I can't find the Amazon Appstore like the one on the video.

Hi. I've followed the guide and your suggestions, but I still cannot get it to work... I've added the two lines that the guide tells you to add, and I copied all the other lines that were missing from the video, and nothing happens when I enter Hearthstone.

I dont understand.. I did everything right, downloaded the amazon apk thing instead of underground and everything looked like in the video except for the two code lines had an extra bit to them something like : ro.product.brand.def-geny=Samsung and the other one was ro.product.brand.def-geny=SM-920F (from memory). Other than that i did everything exactly liike in the video. My game opened, i login'd into my battle net account but when i went in i simply did not get the rewards.. no bugs no nothing. just no rewards idk why

You need to add lines 

ro.product.brand=samsung

ro.product.model=SM-G920F

in any place. I add right above the ro.product.cpu.abi=x86 and it works for me. I also have ro.product.brand.def-geny and other line but htey not seems to be working. Gl.

 

Thanks for letting me know you didn't need to reinstall Hearthstone.  I had to restart genymotion, but after that, I got it. Yay!

 doesn't work any more, you cannot even download the amazon thing, it just crashes every time after reverting back to the start 3 times. I run a pretty high end PC so this is not the issue.

anyone know how to get this working... it seems all these ways to get card backs just don't work now.

When i start the game i get the message: Failure to initialize! Your hardware does not support this aplication,sorry!
My Virtualization is enable and i done everything i rooted it done changes in that build.prop file.
Can any1 help me and tell me some solution?
