Announcing Runestones - With Usage and Frequent Questions
After announcing Runestones there were quite a few questions about how they will work and what you can and cannot buy with them and your hard earned Gold. Blizzard has provided some graphics that should make this all a little clearer.
Quote from BlizzardQ: What are Runestones?
A: Runestones will be replacing real money purchases for nearly every product in the Hearthstone shop. Some products, like Pre-Purchase Bundles, the Hearthstone Tavern Pass, and Packs (purchasing more than one at a time) will be able to be purchased with money or Runestones. A few other select products, like packs and cosmetics crafted in the Collection, will remain purchasable with only Gold.
With Runestones we’ll be able to offer additional smaller-scale items, such as the individual Battlegrounds Hero Skins offered in the shop with this patch. Runestones will be available in bundles of various sizes, including quantities that correspond to our major products (like the Battlegrounds Season Pass), so you can buy exactly the quantity needed for that product or you can stock up on more for later. No product costs are changing with this conversion—all prices are staying the same, just converted to Runestones.
Q: Can I earn Runestones in-game?
A: No, there are no plans to earn Runestones in-game.
Q: Is there anything I can use my Gold for in Battlegrounds?
A: No, there are no plans for Battlegrounds to use Gold in any way. Players who don’t want to spend real money or Runestones will still be able to enjoy the free rewards from the Battlegrounds Track.
Runestones makes me think of the Drek’thar nerf and refund fiasco. Now there’s no question, you buy it with runestones, you get runestones refunded.
But why not allow adventures for gold?
500 coins x 16 = 8000 coins.
4,99$ x 16 = 79,84$ < 79,99$
Yes. They are monkeys also with the maths. We can understand why there are so many issues with this game. These guys are not able to do simple multiplications.
Out of all the things to get mad about this has got to be the strangest. You can save 15 cents by spending strategically? Ok, if that bothers you so much you can just not do it and pay $79,99 instead?
Don't you see that it is wrong in their maths? Do you really think that they wanted to discount 15 cent, making you to do 16 transactions instead of one? It is obviously a mistake, don't you think? A very stupid mistake. This give us an idea about what kind of brains are managing this game.
It's just "perks" that have gone right? All the stuff that you could buy with gold before is still available for gold. I mostly just see a way of getting around transaction fees. As long as you can pay real € for packs, it's still on the weird side of the law and without any bonus for buying more runestones at once, there is no up front reward for them or us.... Seems pretty lame
Excluding miniset from real currency payment??? Guess what is the first upcoming thing for preorder (in Ranked). Looking forward to the first leftover runestones which "ThEy WaNt To AvOiD"
Edit: Ok - I checked and last miniset costed 14,99 but anyway why is this excluded I still don't get.
Look's like Bobby's getting another bonus this quarter.
Yep.
So guess what I think about this so far.
Well I guess this is it for me and Hearthstone I guess. Kinda sad but it is fine. I played since Naxx and only played BG for over the last 2 years. I am way to old anyway (29) for this game now anyway. Like a lot of others in here I am not mad in anyway. Back in the day I played Runescape and they also ruined that one at some point for me. Its fine, and HS it was a beautiful run!
Looks like somebody's light-bulb went on when they seen how much people are spending on diablo immoral :D
Perfect pay to pay game.
800% VALUE wohohooo
Piss off Bli$$ard
Please Microsoft SAVE US FOR THIS HELL
I doubt that they will close the transaction.
Yeah, because Microsoft has never ever been this kind of greedy company that's only interested in extracting every last penny out of its users and doesn't care about the quality of its products. Right.
Considering that Microsoft is OK with putting ads in their OS, I would not be surprised if ad bars would pop up in game in the future. Maybe with the option to remove them with the battle pass.
My interest in this game is solely to come here and to read how this company is digging its own grave. It is very hilarious.
PS: Guys! Your maths wrong. Go back to school!
