Grandmasters 2022 Last Call Week 3: Last Hero Standing - Results and Decklists!
This weekend the Grandmasters 2022 Season 2: Last Call saw its 2nd week, with matches that decide who is going to potentially compete for the World Championship later this year. We will fill you in with the results of the Top 4 and the decklists of the winner! Congratulations to them and commiserations to the players who missed out.
This week was played in the the Last Hero Standing format, which means players bring 4 Class decks, and get one banned by their opponent. They start the first game on the deck they prefer and the winner of that first game has to stay on that deck, while the loser no longer can use the deck they lost with. The series then continues with both players having to either stay on their deck if they win, or move to a new deck if they lose, until one of them has run out of decks to play. This effectively makes this a Best of 5 Series.

My favorite match was the one that went on for 2 hours cause the one guy kept roping every turn.
Some great matches all tourney long. Bunnyhopper had levik dead to rights and still not sure why he didn't play Xyrella to get his health up and prevent the next turn's three curse lethal but props to levik for pulling it out. Habugabu was sooo close to lethal that last match best of 5 with his Hunter. Cool tourney and well broadcasted for the most part, def prefer Lambre over Lorinda.
That was for the World Championship, at Blizzcon usually. We've not had in person championships like that, nor a Blizzcon the last few years.
Not that that would prevent them doing it, but they have also not done the pack champion thing around the same length of time I think. :)
I used to pick Bunny as my champ in the past as well, don't think he ever won me any packs though, ha ha.
Do they still do that "pick a champ" thing? guess I've missed it this time anyway.
