Oops? Blizzard Accidentally Reveals Some Balance Changes And Then Confirms Them
Blizzard accidentally pushed a patch live partially in Korea that had many of the Balance changes coming next week. Here's their reaction to this faux-pas.
Quote from BlizzardDue to a small oopsy-doopsy, a patch planned for next Tuesday was partially pushed early. Some clever sleuths were able to spot a handful of card changes before things were reverted, and I can confirm that the changes seen on live are accurate.
But, there's much more!
Quote from BlizzardWe're doing a small number of nerfs this patch.
- Vile Library loses the base +1/+1
- Stag Spirit Wildseed will make a 3/2 weapon Stagpoint Wildbow
- Snowfall Guardian becomes base 5/5 but no longer grows based on minions frozen
- Celestial Alignment will no longer affect the opponent
Quote from BlizzardIn Wild, Kobold Illusionist will cost 5 mana.
In addition to these nerfs, we're also doing a substantial number of buffs! Some of these have already been discoveredbut the majority of these buffs were likely not spotted.
- Edwin, Defias Kingpin will be a 3 mana 3/3
- Relic Vault to 2 mana
Quote from BlizzardFor the rest of the buffs, stay tuned for the patch notes early next week🙂Paladin, Demon Hunter, and Warrior fans should have a lot to look forward to.
I hope you all enjoyed our impromptu "preview"!
Kael'thas and From the Depths are not getting changed this patch.

I'm not sure if this has been answered : the stag spirit nerf affects all spirit seeds cards. Will there be a dust refund on all of them or not?
Mekgineer Thermaplugg aka high chance to be No
They are 100% giving full refund for all. That nerf you mentioned was so long ago. More recently, they have refunded the watch lost legendary when they nerfed watch posts.
that happened 8 years and 2 game directors ago, in far more recent times when watchposts were nerfed the watch post legendary (which doesn't even summon watch posts) was also refunded
Nerfing Snowfall Guardian is good. However, this will not stop the awful full board freezes that prevent you from playing the game for the next 4 turns. It's not fun or interactive. Shudderwock shaman was fine when they actually had to assemble their exodia combo to lock out the opponent. This should not happen on turn 6 already.
Make Snowfall Guardian freeze in a cone or hit X number of random targets. THAT is actually a solution. Brilliant Macaw will still be a problem after this change.
Macaw should be banned and Deniathrus should be a deathrattle.
Denathrius would be unplayable then
Just remove Life Steal from Denathrius
Bringing back Brann was a big mistake. He's the main offender of most minion-based burst deck out there.
Nerfing Guff will be hard because I feel like any mana cost increase will result being irrelevant, as well as giving an empty mana crystal instead of a full one. It's really about the battlecry and how fast they can get to 20 mana.
Totally agree - he was a fun little dude when he was first introduced, but now there are so many really powerful battlecrys that he's very OP. If he were higher mana (reducing the potential to combo him the turn he's played) then he might be more balanced, but I think it's an inherently powerful effect that people will always find ways to abuse.
It was mostly fine when you were limited to 10 mana. Sadly, they have broken the rules of their own game.
Oopsy doopsy my a*s. It's not the first time you're doing it blizzard...
Macaw needs the nerf. It should not be able to repeat sire denathrius battlecry when it didn’t do any of the infusing. 10 dmg should be the limit of its capabilities. Instead I get hit with over 45 dmg from back to back macaws.
I mean druids and mages are doing the same without macaw so what?
Som cards in those decks need to be nerfed too.
They don't
Legitimately mindblowing how guff keeps dodging the bullet when we all know it's the problem card in druid. Druid gets absolutely crushed by aggro, but crushes everything else because you know... playing with 20 mana is complete bullshit. Really fun polarizing class there.
Vile library is still gonna be insane, it's so easy for warlock to board flood with imps to suddenly create alarming face damage and minions too big to deal with. I feel like the location would be better as something like "Summon a 1/1 imp, improve for each other imp you control". You could still make pretty big minions twice (up to a 6/6) which is very strong for a 2 mana card but at least it wouldn't suddenly almost kill you out of nowhere with a huge buff.
They will never nerf Guff. Like legit they will never change this card because it completely changes the design space of Druid cards. As long as Guff is in standard they need to make Druid cards acordingly, that is, consider that Druid will always have more than 10 mana when balancing mana costs. Nerfing him would mean many Druid cards currently would also need rebalancing.
It's absolutely terrible, but they shot themselves in the foot when they designed this card
You act like Guff is seen every single druid game. Druids with 40 card decks do not get Guff every single game. I see him maybe 40% of my games when I play druid, A lot of time it's towards the end of the game where it doesn't even matter,
they didn't shot anything dude...it was all planned ahead. Do u really think they work with so close schedules? They plan the entire year one or two years before and they already know almost everything that will happen.
it's their form of scam for the past few years. The better u can do is 3 things -
1 - Make a formal complaint to authorities if u're american (like FBI or even use the Instagram to point this issue with evidences and so)
2 - Accept and play the next broken shit
3 - Quit.
