Oops? Blizzard Accidentally Reveals Some Balance Changes And Then Confirms Them
Blizzard accidentally pushed a patch live partially in Korea that had many of the Balance changes coming next week. Here's their reaction to this faux-pas.
Quote from BlizzardDue to a small oopsy-doopsy, a patch planned for next Tuesday was partially pushed early. Some clever sleuths were able to spot a handful of card changes before things were reverted, and I can confirm that the changes seen on live are accurate.
But, there's much more!
Quote from BlizzardWe're doing a small number of nerfs this patch.
- Vile Library loses the base +1/+1
- Stag Spirit Wildseed will make a 3/2 weapon Stagpoint Wildbow
- Snowfall Guardian becomes base 5/5 but no longer grows based on minions frozen
- Celestial Alignment will no longer affect the opponent
Quote from BlizzardIn Wild, Kobold Illusionist will cost 5 mana.
In addition to these nerfs, we're also doing a substantial number of buffs! Some of these have already been discoveredbut the majority of these buffs were likely not spotted.
- Edwin, Defias Kingpin will be a 3 mana 3/3
- Relic Vault to 2 mana
Quote from BlizzardFor the rest of the buffs, stay tuned for the patch notes early next week🙂Paladin, Demon Hunter, and Warrior fans should have a lot to look forward to.
I hope you all enjoyed our impromptu "preview"!
Kael'thas and From the Depths are not getting changed this patch.

Good lol
Yes an otk tool to play brann and denathrius in two turns or next turn with nurture. Clearly the best three or four card combo to get double denathrius… this nerf kills the card and we are all better for it.
No they it's not they can still play whole deck on it ending on togwaggle
See I kinda see the nerf as a buff to Celestial Alignment also, never played it because I thought it was a downside giving the opponent free mana. And now I really wanna play it after the nerf.
stop buffing cards... When you nerf cards, you're effectively buffing every other card in the game, which is great. When they buff cards, 99/100 times, the card was "fair" before and now the buff makes the card overtuned, overplayed, and mandatory to include in every deck, like Wildfire. Only stupidly weak cards like Moorabi should see buffs. There is no reason whatsoever that they should buff VanCleef or the hero cards 2 expansions ago. Card's already played in every freaking rogue deck...
The problem is, the divide between the Haves and the Have-Nots from this expansion is so massive that nerfs alone would not save it. We're talking about multiple classes pulling sub-40% winrates, you'd need to obliterate everything from orbit thrice over to give these classes a chance using only nerfs alone. It's much more practical, and likely to produce results, to push the weak and underperforming archetypes to match the current power level instead of dragging everyone else down to their level.
Also, your example of Wildfire is very flawed because since its buffs, Wildfire is not core to EVERY Mage deck. Spooky, Ping, and some versions of Naga Mage did run Wildfire as a core card, but not Mech or Big Spell, and the latter two were much more popular last expansion.
Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! I am so annoyed that the playerbase keeps overlooking long-time problems!! How the heck can such an obvious statement get downvoted! Freaking playerbase keep gorging on cocaine and ignoring their dang vegetables!
Hopefully the notes include macaw repeating a base version of battlecries not infused.
That would help but that is not the real problem with the card, even if you mad that nerf people could still replay battlecries like Bearon Gla’shear and Jepetto Joybuzz.
Rip Big Rogue they nerfed one of his best card :(
Surprised they didn't ban Illuminate or Neptulon from wild
What about Neptulon in big priest?
They don't care about Wild. They'll nerf one card every couple of patches and pat themselves on the back.
Well if they are going to prioritize something prioritize standard.
It's definitely a problem, and not only there. Basically in any deck that can cheat him out and/or repeatedely (re)summon/resurrect him. Things like Deathrattle rogue and even Paladin resurrection secret. The issue for me is the resurrection works not just on Neptulon, but all 3 pieces. It should be changed in such a way that once it's dead, the resurrection/resummoning only works on the main 7/7 body and not the 4/2 hands. That would tone it down a bit without killing it.
Holy shit Kobold Illusionist nerfed this quickly? Y'know, I was enjoying not seeing Big Priest for a few days and now they'll be back. Blizzard loves nerfing one card in Wild here and there instead of actually addressing most of the issues in the format.
Also, why are people calling for a Kael'thas nerf again? I literally haven't seen one instance of him being broken, he just allows classes other than Druid double a big battlecry.
Hmmm... what's the biggest battlecry in the game right now? 🤔
A card that Druid uses best; the same class that can get 20 mana. Kael'thas makes a certain Neutral legendary actually Neutral rather than a Druid only legendary.
Oh, and Theotar and Mutanus are cards too in Standard, it's not like you can't do anything about it being in your opponent's hand.
Imaigne adressing most of issues in the format that accumulated over years good luck they barely know what to do in standard COPIUM
I do not know som of the biggest battlecrys in the gam defer depending on the deck you use with them and how well you play them the best example would be sire Denathrius “what is the biggest battlecry?” Is a very hard question to answer.
Sweet, maybe now I'll actually play alignment
