Celestial Alignment Nerf Incoming? Dean "Iksar" Ayala Tweets (Again!)
Dean "Iksar" Ayala, Hearthstone's Game Director, took to twitter to troll a little and give a little lift of the curtain about Balance Changes that might be coming soon. He posted the following image to twitter:
If that image rings a bell, then you would be right, because on January 15th this year he posted the following image, days before Balance Changes were announced that included Sorcerer's Apprentice. So it seems change is coming, and it's coming for Celestial Alignment in particular.
Ah hinting at cards that should've been nerfed ages ago. Always too late with the nerfs because "they need to look at the data". I wonder how they gather data on how enjoyable cards & decks are to play against.
It was nerfed in December, just not very well.
Honestly, the card needs a complete rework. The ideal situation with the card is that it would've set each player's mana to 1 for the rest of the match, then made it so no more discounts work, no more ramp works, no more refreshing mana works, and all generated cards would've been made 1 mana from there on out. That would've made it so each player gets to play 1 card and only 1 of their choice each turn.
Instead, you have the mess that was released where Lady Anaconda is making every spell free, and druid is increasing their mana extremely quickly. It's a bigger mess in wild btw where they pair it with togwaggle where they get your deck of highly synergy cards, while you can't play the swapping card for 5 turns and are stuck with nothing but draw cards with an already empty deck.
It would make perfect sense if the card just fixed everything to 1 as an aura effect, which would still be in the druids favor, just not THAT much
You would kill every hero power.
Questhunter would be dead and Jaraxxus unplayable.
Hmmmm, I really don't think that alignment is that big of a deal compared to any other thing that druid can do. You really just need 1 good card in hand and a mediocre board to kill them after it's played. Compared to the killer combos and no-game tempo plays there exist, this card is just another disruptive card that might tilt you if you wanted to play solitaire.
Don't touch Guff! He is so cute!
The world would be a better place if everyone of us would be a little like Guff!!
Guff makes duel mode imbalanced. Needs nerfing
Wow some people really hate irony here :p (downvoters)
What about Deathrattle Rogue and Shudder/Freeze Shaman in wild? These decks are extremely op and in the same time totally uninteractive to play against, regardless if you win or lose.
Yeah sure that's REALLY what the problem with the game is right now, Iksar.
(By the way, if you want to fix it, make it just effect the Druid)
(Edit: Oh look, that's exactly what they did!)
Doubt chubby munchkin Bobby fits in that tight elegant suit. Guess his Bodyguards are taking care of the angry mob trying to raid his new yacht.
oh yeah ... this wasn't about Bobby, but had to give Kudos to THE MAN anyways. Just because.
Right now i want to dust full fking game if i could am tired of fking big rogues in wild every match is against them and the apsurd consitant cheating minions its so funny that we end up in this state over time
Celestial isnt broken, its just unfun and uninteractive to play against. Which is worse than being broken.
Toxic Cards like this, shouldn't be printed
irrelevant . Guff is the one they should do something about
Annoying card for sure, have made it backfire on Druids I'm playing against a couple times though. Makes it more easy to combo deathbornes, fire sales and Branns with multicasters/magisters/sivaras/KT. In the case of the first two, playing this card basically enables a Mage opponent to draw half their deck with ease since I don't often rely on Brann+KT combo to win as often as I just ping face for 8-12 damage while leaving nothing on the board for them to build their Denathrius with.
I'm enjoying a druid ramp deck at the moment with Denathrius and Topior. Although I love Guff, I can see it get nerfed to
Set maximum mana to 12 or 15, and remove the initial mana crystal gain from the battle cry.
That's surprising considering Druid isn't a top performing class at the moment, and Ramp Druid without CA is currently about as good, so nerfing the card won't really impact the meta.
Watching EU streamers it seems Druid isn't popular but playing NA ladder it's every other match.
