The Banana Brawl
This week's Tavern Brawl's theme is the Banana Brawl. To celebrate King Mukla's birthday, we get to create our own deck to play with the brawl-specific rule which gives you one random Banana each time one of your minions dies. Check out the Bananas below.
Remember to share your Banana Brawl decks using our deckbuilder, and to check out other Tavern Brawl decks.

Archon Team League - Match-ups Released
Another update on the Archon Team League Championships was released today which comes in the form of team match-ups. We also have learned that the mysterious team #8 is Trump's Value Town. We're keeping track of all the information in our Archon Team League Championships Preview thread. Make sure to check back as we're sure to hear more information in the coming days.
Killing it with Shaman atm... 11-0 and counting.. I dont even want to play but Ill play until I lose..
I want an unstable portal or webspinner week.
Dragonkin sorcerers are by far the most broken card with this game mode, I stick it in all my decks, currently using a hybrid of token druid

this brawl is so cancerous and pretty much unplayable. after five matches (1-4 record with tempo mage), i got my free pack then never entered again.
Eh, I'm sad too, but only week 2. But my F2P accounts aren't sad at all! Yay free WEEKLY packs!
You ain't seen nothin' until you've faced mah [card]Millhouse Manastorm[/card]/[card]Troggzor the Earthinator[/card] deck! Mwuhahaha!
(Okay, I admit that I don't have that. But that could be an amazing combo.)
Would fatigue decks work well (Like mill rogue), in this setup? Killing their minions to fill their hand?
Yes and no. In theory, more useless cards means better mill. In practice, they might just put down one minion and feed it
steroidsbananas when you don't have any removal. We need to face facts. In any kind of constructed format that Tavern Brawl offers there will be powerful decks that will be far, far better than that 'fun' deck you throw together. And because information moves at lightning speed on the internet, those decks will proliferate very quickly.
So if you are one of those people right now saying something like "this format sucked because of tempo mage, they should do a format where...(insert some convoluted deck rules)" you are on a road to being very disappointed. Because every constructed TB format will be similar. Just enjoy the fact we have got to play with cards like Echoing Ooze, Violet Teacher, Troggzor the Earthinator and Gazlowe.
looks bland on the surface but it actually opens up quite many options that give some unplayed decks a bit more playability. However sharing decks for this brawl kinda killed it.
Meanwhile I'm using an OTK Paladin deck in Tavern Brawl because it's fun.
Good thing it's permanent and it's the only Brawl for the remainder of the universe.
Brawls have no effect that reinforce the existing meta as brawl has nothing to do with constructed and aren't meant to be taken seriously (thus the fun effects).
Not saying that you don't find it fun or that you didn't find last weeks better. I'm just pointing out that, perhaps, it is being looked at in a negative light, as if week 2 of brawl is indicative of the only brawl that will ever exist.
I... don't want to be too unkind but Hearthpwn. Please. Why put the most popular decks on your site? The whole point of Tavern Brawl is to experiment with deck building and finding wacky cards or classes for it. It's supposed to be a fun deck mode, about making fun decks. It's not there for boosting winrates you don't need. Please replace your "Strongest Decks for this mode" with "Examples of fun decks for this mode", at the very least. We ALL know Tempo Mage is overpowered, so leave it out of there. I know it might not mean too much, but atleast ensure there's fun decks to go up against in Tavern Brawl, instead of encouraging everyone to play the same mage that everyone else is playing.
Sorry if that came off as an opinionated rant, but i'm pretty sure Blizzard themselves intended Tavern Brawl to be a space for experimentation, not playing ladder decks that are overpowered in this format with a few tweaks here and there.
This is also why i dont like this site very much anymore, always ruining the fun!
Absolutely disagree. You can't improve the game by preventing people from getting access to information. If people want to find the best decks and they don't get the information they want here, all that traffic will go to another site instead, so who really wins in that scenario?
"Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master."
Hearthpwn.com, a website players visit in order to gain information and tactics to defeat others.
Brawl, a rough or noisy fight.
Hearthpwn provides information to defeat others in said fights.
Mission successful.
Absolutely NOTHING stopping you from playing wacky/fun decks. MY fun comes from winning. YOUR fun comes from developing wacky decks to win with. Don't tread on my fun please. I am not you, so I'd like to win anyway I can.
"Pretty sure TB is intended to be a space for experimentation." Oh yeah? Well I'm pretty sure TB is intended to be a place to face other opponents with predetermined game rules.
I 100% agree.
Though I love it more when my wacky decks beat decks designed to win :P
"You can't improve the game by preventing people from getting access to information."
Believe it or not, yes, you can. Lack of information given creates surprise moments. In Hearthstone's case, both through surprise cards and surprise decks. That one guy who played Nozdormu in his deck and made you jump out of your chair because you had to act fast is just going to be a lot more memorable, than Face Hunter 1536 who Kill Commands your face. Hearthstone becomes more fun when your opponent has a deck you can't predict. Not only that, the game becomes more skillful too, because you can't predict their deck.
I never said that Hearthpwn was actually the source of the "problem". The "problem" is differences in mentality. As the Beemo gent above this comment mentioned, he plays to win. And that's it. He comes to this site because he will win with decks that others make, simple enough. However, there's two types of "veteran" hearthstone players. Winners and deck builders. Discussed before by other people. Winners want to win, and the deck builders want to win with a weird deck. So what happens is that deck builders become disatisfied. Obviously. They didn't play the "optimal deck", so they didn't win. However, deck builders can also be satisfied with losing, if they lose from a fellow deck builder. And this is where the real problem arises.
Winners can have fun if they win with pre-built decks. Deck builders cannot have fun if they keep losing to pre-built decks. The whole point of Tavern Brawl is that you can't have pre-built decks because of the change in ruleset. But behold, here we have a Tavern Brawl in which many decks that are in the competitive scene already are just outright better. There is a disconnect between the promise of Tavern Brawl (making new decks that are awsome in the new circumstances), and what actually happens (swap a few cards from old decks that are better than anything else). Thus, my previous post plea comes down to this.
Try, as a site, to encourage what Tavern Brawl's promise was.
"Pretty sure TB is intended to be a space for experimentation. Oh yeah? Well I'm pretty sure TB is intended to be a place to face other opponents with predetermined game rules."
Yes. Predetermined game rules that do not incentivize the creation of new decks enough, apparently, in order for the people who want to Win to have to come here and see that you need to learn a whole new deck and playstyle! Nope, you can just bring out your Tempo Mage and fight against other Tempo Mages. That may be an attractive prospect for you, but the bottom line is that Tavern Brawl in the factual sense is exactly what you say. "A place to face opponents with predetermined game rules.". In the intended sense, there's one slight difference. "A place to face opponents with predetermined game rules that turn the meta on its head."
And if that meta is:
1. Tempo Mage.
2. Everything else.
... then, as Hearthpwn, it would help shake up Tavern Brawl if they showed some obscure decks, instead of Winner decks, to make Tavern Brawl more varied than it could be. Heck, show BOTH. That would already be a great step. Like: "Try this deck out! It's kinda silly, but really cool!" We're only talking about the news page, mind you. That's after all where most people who visit the site stare at.
One last note. This issue with the meta not being shaken up at all is ofcourse also a bit the fault of the Tavern Brawl's subject this week. I'm sure Blizz is going to take note of that, and improve on future brawls where several decks might turn up as the craziest ones.
We want Murlocs in the Brawl!
