Quote from BlizzardWarcraft® Arclight Rumble™, the first Warcraft game designed from the ground up for mobile, is an action-packed strategy game that invites players to assemble armies with their favorite characters from the Warcraft universe and battle it out in unique missions designed to test their tactical wits. Players command forces of lovingly sculpted digital tabletop miniatures in multi-lane combat across dozens of unique missions.
This triumph of gnomish engineering has packed insatiable crowds into taverns from Winterspring to Booty Bay. Soon, players in the real world can experience for themselves the dazzling new sensation that’s sweeping Azeroth.
- BLIZZARD-QUALITY GAMEPLAY ON THE GO—Easy to learn but hard to master, Warcraft Arclight Rumble’s frantic strategy action is immediately gripping, with depth that rewards experimentation. Build forces of minis, starting with Leaders—including heavy-hitters like the Warsong chieftain Grommash Hellscream and Archmage Jaina Proudmore—and fill in Arclight-augmented armies with rank-and-file Troop minis and powerful Spells.
- TONS OF CONTENT, GAMEPLAY VARIETY, AND REPLAYABILITY—Play through a huge single-player experience with over 70 missions, as well as weekly and monthly challenges in the form of multipart dungeons, epic raids, and more. You can also play with your friends in competitive or cooperative play modes, and join guilds to link up with fellow commanders.
- COLLECT YOUR FAVORITE WARCRAFT CHARACTERS—Over 60 heroes, villains, monsters, and more from the Warcraft universe have been rendered as tabletop-style minis and brought to life for you to collect, level up, and improve with powerful talents. Seek out killer synergies or simply have a blast building armies around your favorite characters. Undertake Conquest missions to earn bonus rewards by replaying levels with leaders from the five Families: the noble Alliance, savage Beasts, necromantic Undead, powerful Horde, and searing Blackrock.
- TRUE-TO-ROOTS WARCRAFT EXPERIENCE—Warcraft Arclight Rumble is full of authentic Warcraft vibes, created by a team with deep roots in the franchise. Everywhere you look, you’ll encounter references and game elements directly inspired by beloved characters, locations, and events from the Warcraft PC strategy games and World of Warcraft®.
R.I.P Blizzard
Blizz heading dangerously close Konami's route .... maybe head straight into Gacha territory instead, so we can get rid of you.
I agree. But the issue is complex. In my opinion, the whole industry is ill because it is not sufficiently regulated (in-game shop is not regulated, it is expensive without a refund and it can cause arguably dependence). A company like Activision/Blizzard, therefore, makes more money with micro-transactions. And it is therefore incentivized to go in this direction, which is a direction that kills quality games. This is, therefore, the Governments' fault that is not able to regulate correctly this topic.

Aren't mercenaries already gacha game kinda though :D Blizzard is already in this territory imo
18 years waiting for Warcraft 4 .... and here we go. +_+
I'm honestly excited to get to play the game. Haven't played this genre of games since the original Bloons Tower Defense, the only other mobile game I play is Hearthstone. It will give me something to do when I have small segments of downtime. Already signed up for the beta
I don't get all the negative feedback. It feels awkward that 30+ year old edgelords are ranting about a game that looks good for what it's supposed to be.
It used to be a company that made awe-inspiring AAA games with cinematics that blew your mind and inspired you. They created whole new worlds just like that.
And now look what they're doing. That's why people are mad. If you don't mind it, fine. You're evidently just a lot easier entertained than the average Blizzard fan. We 30+ year old edgelords have different standards.
This video, the music, what a masterpiece. Old Blizz dug epicness into products. New Blizz, it is better to not answer.
For me it's only proof for strong hate...
It's probably their first(?) stricte mobile game & people are bashing Blizz, because they were expecting something like Warcraft 4 for smartphones...
The cinematic is awesome - like always from Blizzard.
The gameplay looks interesting - long time ago I was into some tower defenders like... Kingdom Rush: Frontiers(?) so why not something similar, but from Blizzard?
The art looks nice - "toyish" like these toys from the beginning of cinematic, when the machine was "making" heroes.
...
The only distasteful part for me was that presentation.
I'm pre-registered already, I don't know will it be available on my phone, but it showed up in my BattleNet client, so...
I think I've heard, that Windows was being prepared, or already is to launch android apps...
Then maybe I'll try it & launch once in a while for few minutes.
It is obvious that people expected something different they said Warcraft for mobile (this is not Warcraft, this is Clash Royale reworked/copied). The good/bad marketing strategy is to call it Warcraft, if indeed they called it by another name, they would have not received so many complaints (but they would have received less interest). If they have not released also the new announcement for Warcraft, Dragonflight (which seems pretty cool) it would be a total mess like the Diablo Immortal announcement. The fan base of Warcraft are tough people without the announcement of Dragonflight they would have not digested this madness.
OOOOOOOOOORRRRRR...
It looks like shit from a shit company.
Just spitballing here.
Holy shit, why is everyone so negative???? I hate smart phones and don't have one, but this game legitimately looks like a lot of fun and I might even consider using an emulator to play it. The art style's great imo because it still looks like warcraft and has all of our favorite characters, but the art style's totally different and stands out with all of blizzard's other products.
If you don't want to play the game, then don't play it.... It'd be one thing if they announced that this was a replacement for a new WoW or HS expansion, but this is a totally new side product, so there's literally 0 reason to complain that they made it. The fact that like 20K people disliked the video and all the comments are trashing it is extremely immature and pathetic and makes me ashamed to be a blizz fan. Cmon guys. A lot of people make these games for a living and I've had a small amount of experience making games myself and it feels like complete shit when a bunch of people trash the thing you worked hard on. Get a life.
Exactly! I personally can't wait to try it out, everyone jumps on the wagon that Blizzard is going in a certain direction but at least give them a chance. The game looks polished and is definitely NOTHING like clash royal. Just because people see units and 4 cards, HEY ITS A CLASH ROYALE CLONE. Come on give them a damn chance, new rotating based content and freaking raids? That sounds sweet!
It's because these days fans feel like they own the things they are fans of, and they think they know best about EVERYTHING. So, any direction that is new or different or (heaven forbid) something the fan didn't think of is automatically worthy of scorn and signals the "end" of the company (even though it will probably make a lot more money than whatever old-school game the fan is nostalgic for).
I feel like mobile games have gotten much worse. There was a peak era, when we had games like LostStar Tactics, and The Void, and Warhammer Deathwatch. Now, those are unavailable in the app store. I don't think they have been maintained to the latest iOS version. I dislike all of these Gatcha games. They have flooded the app stores, many of them having no real gameplay, just gambling addiction loops. I like Hearthstone, dislike Mercenaries. I didn't like questline cards though. I think they ruin a lot of the gameplay, as they are formula to win cards. People can use them to get a strong win condition, with no deck sacrifice for it. The rewards along the way give them extra bonuses. The legendary quests felt a lot better to play with and against.
Anyways, this doesn't look like my kind of game. I like phone games like Hearthstone that aren't too interactive so I can workout on my elliptical while playing. If I wanted to play a tactics game, I'd play on the PC, which has much better ones and that aren't trying to nickel and dime you, because the good tactical phone games are gone.
So... A Clash Royale re-skin. Sadeg.
let's grab some money on Warcraft name
Well, that trend technically started with Warcraft II, so ...
I feel like the people here are overlooking the fact that they're not even the target audience for the game either. Anyone who is enough of a nerd to go on goddamn forums is *NOT* who they're marketing this game for. Anyone who gives a shit about Warcraft, is also not who they're marketing the game for. The game is marketed for the mobile market. They're diversifying into an audience they haven't yet captured. No amount of forum outrage can make this game flop, because none of the people who would write angry posts on forums are people they're trying to rope in.
Quick edit: to be clear, this game can absolutely flop, but it can't flop because of outrage by dedicated fans of the IP. Saying you're not gonna spend money on it is absolutely inconsequential when it's not your money they're trying to get.
Well said. You're pretty much on the nose.
