Voyage to the Sunken City Decks - Good and Fun Decks from the Pros
As is tradition by now on HearthPwn, the first night list of the Voyage to the Sunken City Decks the pros have been playing on the day of the release. There's decks that went to high legend and decks that definitely did not, but the common factor is that the pros had fun playing these decks. Check them out and see if you do too!
Mech Mage
Feno called it an "insane noob deck" and we are not sure if he meant it as a compliment or not, but it was one of the hyped decks from pre-release that seems to have delivered on the first day.
This version of Mech Mage is from Apx, though many lists are similar. There seem to be about 3 flex spots where people are trying out cards. Apx went with 2x Trogg and a Kazakus, Golem Shaper, whereas Thijs in his list went with 2x Frostweave Dungeoneer (to have more chances at drawing the only spell in the deck) and 1 Sir Finley. Refining will no doubt happen until we arrive at the fabled "Perfect 30".

OTK Warlock
Speaking of Thijs, he was on stream on release day cackeling when he killed a Warrior with full health and 22 armor with this Mill Warlock deck, which is basically OwlTK, but replacing the Owl with Selfish Shellfish. Clams have feelings too! (actually they don't).

Naga Mage
This Naga Mage deck came from Orange, who noted that he felt this was by far the most fun deck he played all day and that that usually correlates with a deck being really good. Feno didn't agree with him however calling the deck "mega overrated". Just more proof that opinions are like noses and that everyone has one!

Freeze Shaman
If by this point you are wondering what Mr. Feno was playing himself then, with having opinions on many decks, wonder no more! Feno posted that the "Only deck that I feel is worth posting from what i tried Day 1" was this Freeze Shaman deck, which he took to a 9-3 score. He also declared that Shaman seems really good because "Freeze OP and School Teacher fits in the deck perfectly". Consider us all interested now!

Anacondra Druid
Former Grandmaster Rami took to twitter to tell the world about this Anacondra Druid deck. He said about it "Peaked at 17 with this Anacondra Druid. The list still need a lot of refinement but there is a huge potential here. Many strats seem playable, I am loving the Sunken City so far!". Same here, Rami, same here!

Big Beast Hunter
Big Beast Hunter Hattrik went 11-3 with this deck going as high as 268 on the Ranked Ladder. He said of the deck "Hydralodon on 3 is a good minion I guess. Played 3 King Krush by turn 8 btw." Music to the ears of Beast Hunter afficionados!

Control Warrior
BruTo, a spanish Hearthstone player, made his way all the way to Rank 1 Legend on the Americas server with this OTK Control Warrior. When asked about the From the Depths in his list he replied "Best card of the deck". Well then, duly noted!

Boar Priest?!
Last but not least, it wouldn't be the First Day of Release without a Monsanto deck. He praised this deck with "Finally a Boar centric meta.", "Boar priest is straight up unbeatable. Calling it right now, it's getting nerfed first." and "I'm throwing every game and over 90% winrate and these games aren't close." which made Rami94 admit that "Wow. Now I am a little scared."
It would be a good idea to not craft anything for this deck though, as we have a feeling that the players might not have been 100% serious... Still, "Boars + pyro + double amulet gets you weapon in 1 turn, turbo cycle to bottom of deck and win every game" definitely sounds like it would be fun to play, even with a 45% winrate.

Just had a match against Highlander Rogue with my Highlander Mage. We went into Fatigue and it was glorious. I miss that kind of match, win or lose.
Yeah sure. Looks like anything that isn't mech cancer or aggro is less than 50% win rate.
Why can't I find a game with this deck?

This game is dead already. For those who play wild and has a large collection doesn't even worth buy or spend even gold in packs anymore. Just craft 2 or 3 cards and be happy again in wild. Same decks, same bullshit. Blizzard killed his game before sell to microsoft, there's nothing more to save it now.
Still not enough to finance a Hearthstone collection.
quest hunter feels slightly bad now.
mech mage TIER 1 deck for sure..
A glorious day for humanity when quest hunter feels bad now if only quest warrior felt bad too world peace could be achieved
i love playing token shaman atm. freeze shaman is boring as hell for both parties imo
yea pirate rogue and pirate warrior are much more difficult to play lol
oh bronze 10 mech mage player spotted lol
They arent mutually exclusive. All 3 are pretty braindead decks to play lol. Pirate rogue being barely less window licking than pirate warrior and mech mage.
Tempo Pirate Rogue eats Mech Mage for breakfast, why is no one trying it out? Probably cuz JAlex spent the whole day playing janky shit lol.
Good to see a meta not being figured out on day 1 for a change!
Yeah. Day two and 95% of the mage decks out there are 99% identical. Thanks again, theorycrafting streamers...
I mean, the deck built itself. Put in the spell that draws a mech and reduces their cost. Put in basically every conceivable mech both Mage class and neutral. Gratz you now have 90% of every Mech Mage deck out there.
It wasn't hard to figure this list out. Same thing was true for Paladin Mech decks, there's not quite enough Mechs to have any meaningful choices in deck building.
You dont need to have a brain to build them... type in "mech" and you have 90% of the deck. What do you expect?
Where are the fast climbing decks? Seems aggro is gone.
the literal first deck on the list
in diamond 3,2,1 ALOT of mecha mage players..
Play mechs, discover more mechs, keep playing mechs. Zzzz… It doesn’t require much thought.
it does tho. Its one of the most minion based decks that ever existed. No burst spells, no stall, nothing that is not minion based. I love it but understand that there are to many of them around.
