Za'Qul is So'Qul
It generates dysfunction - it heals - it's good. Artwork is sick!
I dunno, couid be busted. Underestimated mechanic if it's supported. Imagine how strong a warlock Naga would be w/ "cast 3 spells while holding, battlecry give your opponent 3 curses." First one would deal 6. Second one would deal 15. Both would tax your opponent 6 mana the following turns. This would obviously be too strong to print, but even if it just added 2 and there was one other support card the damage would wrack up fast.
I'm finding that the devs are getting worse at composing card text, generally. It's not clear at all how these curse cards work. Does the effect occur as long as you hold the curse in your hand? Or is it an effect that starts when you play the card? If the latter, the text seems vacuous because taking 0 damage effectively means nothing happens at all.
If the effect is only bad when you play the card, why ever play it?
It's completely confusing. Why can't they compose clear card text?
I mean the card in practice will be pretty clear, the damage it deals will be clear because the number will change. It's as long as you hold the card in your hand. Playing it ends the effect early, but the card will be automatically removed from your hand after 2 turns.
I'm not sure how that could be worded more simply than it is tbh. It should probably mention "while this is in your hand", but that'd add more text to the card.
"take 1 damage + 1 for each other abyssal curse you've received"
It being ambiguous is the curse (haha) of cards that get translated by fans.
There is a "lasts two turns" bracket and the number will update (essentially count for you) during the game.
Nothing really confusing in the end.
That's not even really necessary just because the card text itself is dynamic. The damage number changes.
If anyone plays these curses, they'll actuallu help the Demon Seed.
That's not remotely reliable.
This might turn out to be good, but this is not za cool card I was looking for.
This might be a staple in Lock decks where they look to draw out the game, might revive some old archtypes especially in wild. Dependent on how well it can fend off aggro.
HAVE to see other warlock cards to properly judge this one
this card MAD garbage
This whole game MAD garbage.
Besides if it´s good or not (we will see), what´s the fun-factor with this card? It will be super-annoying and everyone will hate to play against this trash.
I was expexting the abyssal curses were a "shadow" spell, im a bit disapointed
Multicaster compensates that to some extent
It doesn't really. Multicaster costs more and at most on average is maybe drawing 2 cards (kind of hard to play both a fel and a shadow spell by turn 4), especially on curve.
Plus it doesn't damage you like Backdraft does. Which means one of Questline Warlock's best win conditions (backdrafting in fatigue) is going away.
Then there's Flesh Giant. Tour Guide. Armor Vendor. School Spirits. maybe Drain Soul.
Backfire. Not backdraft.
