Everyone brought some good points, I am just worried about this card due to (1) its powercreeping on previous Silence minion cards in terms of both stats and power level, (2) possibilities to return to Spell-heavy, Combo OTKs, and pure Aggro meta as players get intimidated and punished by playing fair with their board.... such as a Priest tries to protect their face with Taunt & Lifesteal, but the Aggro players can now ignore their board to go face 100%....
What I'd personally prefer is (1) increase its mana cost to 5 if they want to keep the mass Silence effect, (2) wait until the Miniset to make a decision whether to release this card... We don't even know how the meta plays out or board-based decks would make any return yet...
I hope they playtested enough and predicted that board-based decks might be too strong, and they need this card to prevent them from swamping the meta...
Dream tech card in wild. I have a lot of meme decks with charge burst finisher, this is the perfect solution against big priest. WIth the hero power from Unseal the Vault online against a big priest with full board of taunts: Unleash the hounds, smothering starfish, hero power.
Bye bye Freeze shaman!
People ACTUALLY preordered this expac without seeing all the cards LOL
I agree silence generally encourages less fun gameplay, but I feel like a lot of you are overreacting a bit with this. Royal Librarian, Showstopper, and even Ironbeak Owl are all neutral silence cards in standard right now and no one plays them ever. This is obviously better than all of those, but I don't really feel like by all that much. Even Shard of the Naaru isn't always an auto include in every priest deck and shard is clearly better than this.
I could be totally wrong, but I don't think a 3 mana 2/4 is threatening enough when there are so many decks that kill you from hand.
They are overcosted, and Showstopper is obviously too slow and counterable. This is not.
Its official. Spike is the #1 Son. Timmy and Johnny will not be getting a LeBaron.
I wish open a golden one. 1600 dust in the first nerf.
Ummm what? This is arguably better than Arcane Missiles and Devolve
Thanks for invalidating Shaman again or any class that has a silence in it's kit.
Now all aggro decks can ignore all taunts at 100% rate.
Yea keep pushing those brainless decks blizzard.
Do you guys remember that they wilded Spellbreaker for Maiev Shadowsong?
We all thought they were nerfing silence lol.
They DID nerf silence. This is honestly kinda pricey for a silence effect, and the statline isn't very aggressive, but it's still probably too good IMO.
I'm so sorry your precious OP snowfall guardian bird combo will no longer guarantee auto wins against board based decks. Actually i am not sorry because without this shaman would dominate the next rotation. If you play this in aggro to ignore taunts your deck is already bad. Aggro decks don't bother with taunts in the least bit.
lol you need to stop with those comparisons man, they are so bad.
Also, Spellbreaker going to HoF have nothing to do with Maiev Shadowsong that's just non-sense.
Shaman will be fine , dont worry. The class is clearly overpushed.
Power creep here is insane over Ironbeak Owl, the double sided effect won't normally matter you play it when it doesn't punish your own. Silence overall is bad for the game. If you're going to have silence it should be more restricted. This card takes it too far. At least they we're smart enough to make it a epic so it doesn't shit on every Arena game.
So you enjoy playing the incredible miracle buff priest. Got it. Go cry us a river with that BS deck that shouldn't have ever existed in the first place in standard.
Don’t know how I feel about this card yet will see it’s impact soon
Yeah, I don't like this much either. But at least it isn't an aggressive stated minion. Might keep it out of aggro decks at least. I know they'd like to silence some cards out there, but that 2/4 statline is going to be hard to swallow some games.
Aggro decks were running Robes of Protection at one point. Nothing wrong with that stat line to completely negate an opponent.
Yeeeeeeah.... this card isn't going to be a trouble at all in any mode... A cheap AOE silence that can have multiple copies per deck? And to boot it's pretty much impossible to play around unless you get lucky with an effect like Deathlord or Mutanus the Devourer, but those aren't able to affect the possible second copy nor guaranteed to hit the right target anyway. Even Whirlpool would require it to have already been played.
“Let‘s print those colossal minions.“
“You know what? Fuck that.“
