Celestial Naga Druid
Earliest you could play this is turn 6 if you played out full spells for the first 5 turns. Seems underwhelming at that point and playing mutiples later without impacting effects leaves it open to sweepers.
I think we've reached that point where a turn 6 8/8 is just a fine play. Topping your spell heavy turn with one of these is still pretty strong, but it's we're not going to see a giant massacre for sure.
The ideal use of this IMO is right after paying a big board clear like whirlpool/neather
Probably better than arcane giant.
Lmao AG in mage was so free you could've played it turn 6
Theoretically this is also free on turn 6, so.....
No extra keyword like rush or taunt? Sad
It's a giant, which follow the theme of being vanilla 8/8 minions that get cheaper due to some mechanic. Giving it rush or taunt would be weird. Then it would need a different name.
Lots of synergy with The gardens grace.
I see what you did here
Omg this would be perfect! Dredge is the guarantee for a deck like this lol.
another giant for giant series, better at big spell based decks, and can’t be cheated on early unless someone finds a way
This one is way less situational than Arcane Giant.
Most midrange, ramp and control will be able to cheat it for little or no mana on mid/late game, without needing to build around.
Arcane Giant is way better on narrow scenarios, like a T2~3 Arcane Giant playing Spell Mage.
Some decks could even benefit from running both (Ramp Druid comes to mind).
*** Wish for next core set ***
Holy Wrath
We have everything to make it happen.
Sir Finley Sea Guide, Seafloor Savior and Tuskarrrr Trawler to put Naga Giant on top of the deck.
Holy Wrath for instant 20 damage to face. Unless it does the discounted damage?
It deals damage for the full cost, no matter the discount, holy wrath paladin is a classic that used to shoot molten giants for 20 damage
That was a few months ago. Warlock played Flesh Giants and blew you up with Battlemaster.
Card seems like arcane giant on crack
Actually depends, if you are tempo mage with lots of 0 mana spells then this is worse. But overall this is better with Spells that on average costs more than 2-3
everytime one of giants appears in standard they end up being the meta, but this one seems slow so thats nice
considering that you can only spend 20 mana on turn 6 (21), there's still the fact that it HAS to be spent on spells, I think it's slow;
