9 mana Twisting Nether 9 times on 10 is a really bad, awful, unplayable card, especially in the lately HS.
The ONLY situation where I can see a MINIMUM of usefulness of Whirlpool is in some "Steal/Thief" kinda Priest, which you manage to somehow summon copies of minions from opponent's deck to destroy after with this. Imagine thinking you can do such a thing in HS nowadays lol
I’m in love with this card
Dont know if any complains about this card , but i will remind you that palm reading rotates. And its a 9 mana card . And you destroy your minions too . Soul mirror rotates too , hysteria too, so priest needs a mass spell . Dont know its better than Plague of Death , but its equally good card . I like the design but not hyped at all about this card . A card like " destroy 3 randon enemy minions 5 mana , or something like that would be more juicy .
No, it is complicated because the debate was whether this is better than Plague of Death. In a world where Canopic Jars is still a thing this is not board reset. If you've just payed 9 mana and your opponent still has a substantial board THIS IS NOT a board reset. Plague of Death was a board reset in this situation. If your opponent's remaining board just kills you next turn, you've done nothing with 9 mana.
This is literally danehearth's worst possible nightmare when playing any of his infinite shadowcaster decks
Bruh
I would think whirlpool would have been just randomly spinning minions around the board. Would have been a lot more fun.
Thematically the whirlpools of old were known and dreaded for pulling any ship to the depths, never to be seen again. The Maelstrom, Charybdis, etc.
So I guess it's kinda fitting. ...and I have to admit the mental image of a whirlpool randomly spinning around kinda resulted in a waterpark-theme.
Are you shure this is not for shaman?
FINALLY priest gets nature synergy
In most cases the silence effect (or any effect which denies Deathrattle, like Psychic Scream's shuffle) would be way more appreciated.
Anyways, for the extra cost of one mana you have a way better Twisting Nether. If we ever get back to a meta were outvalue your opponent becomes a viable strategy, this board swype will be a staple.
Being a bit slow against aggro is a issue, for sure, but Priest has some midgame AoE and a lot of healing so this 9 cost spell may be actually played even against face decks.
Very strong against Beast Druid (I don't remember if it'll still be a thing after rotation, though).
Why does everybody hate playing against Priest? Oh yeah… this kind of card.
Yet Warlock has a sweeper effect like this as well and it doesn't see play. Have to see if it warrants being played and/or if the core set has synergy with it. It's at least a better card design than infinite discover, value and deathrattle.
True enough… 🙂
Oh, I'm so ashamed that I'm unskilled. However will I live with it...
No, it won't. Only board, hands and decks.
Without a doubt, one of the best mass removal spells the game has ever seen.
Will it delete minions from graveyard? So other priests can't ressurect it?
I hope so!
I don't believe so. Unless I am mistaken, this works similar to Flik Skyshiv. I remember having it played against me, then getting the same minion back from Hadronox, Bloodreaver Gul'dan, N'zoth the Corrupter and N'zoth, God of the Deep.
