RegisKillbin's Duels Reveal - Drek'thar & Vanndar Heroes - All New Treasures & Hero Powers
RegisKillbin had a big reveal for the Duels game mode today. Read below for the summary or watch the video for the full story!
Summary
- New Heroes: Drek'thar & Vanndar Stormpike!
- New Keyword: Ally. This is a Duels specific Keyword that allows the new Heroes to ally with 1 specific class and use that class's cards. Both Heroes have a limited amount of classes to Ally with though!
- Drek'thar Ally classes: Druid, Mage, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior.
- Vanndar Ally classes: Demon Hunter, Hunter, Paladin, Priest, and Rogue.
- You can also choose to NOT Ally with any classes and play with only Neutrals!
Just fix ShadowWord: Void and I’ll be happy.
so there might be more deathrattle priests but brainless cards spamming spell priests are still being around 7/10 games.
Ughhh tI'm hoping this ally crap doesn't lead to another Diablo situation. For anyone who doesn't play duels, Diablo has warrior and warlock cards, and what they usually do is play self damage warlock quest and stack armor with warrior along with a weapon attacking hero power. Makes it impossible to play any kind of board deck that isn't insanely fast and aggro. I can see Drek doing something like this although a bit slower.
Speaking of that. Blizz really needs to tone down from hand damage in duels and discover, both are out of control. Let's also not forget how brokenly OP Shadowword: void is and how most heroes have no way to deal with it.
This mage treasure is gonna be game breaking. It iss basiclly easier way to pull off Wild OTK Mage combo with Ignite and Sorcerer's Apprentice. U can basiclly play deck full off tradeable minions + 3 spells (ignite, molten reflection for 2nd apprentaince and the treasure) AND get the Hero power that across 3 turns draws all spells (and discounts them!).
I honestly don't feel that it's likely to be a problem. You can already do some really wacky shit in Duels, and if anywhere is the place for it, it's duels.
I actually love that they gave this to Regis to reveal on his channel as opposed to just announcing the Duels update themselves like they’ve always done (and basically all other mid-expansion updates). He really earned this for his dedication to Duels and amazing videos for it!
He certainly earned it. If memory serves, he was one of the first to back Blizzard, when the community was demanding better value for money. He also rejected the idea that content creators were incentivised to back developers (lucrative exclusive reveal anyone?). LOL
If you're doing a cost-benefit analysis as a content creator trying to decide whether to get a huge base of hatewatchers by playing into the controversies, or possibly maybe getting a lucrative exclusive reveal, it should be obvious at a glance to anyone which one is more likely to succeed. One of the two is working for many content creators right now, the other worked for exactly one content creator.
Let's not pretend that he's wrong about where the incentive is just because we don't like how Blizzard have been doing things the past year.
Interesting. Wonder if they'll abandon this horde and alliance thing at the end of this year.
